  1. I don’t understand why people are so pissed off if Frost tried to cancel the Oklahoma game. First off he was trying to get another home game against an opponent we should beat plus add money to the local economy with extra home game. Don’t get me wrong I know it’s a big game and it looks bad canceling the game but Oklahoma has their best teams in years all around so would canceling the game be worse then getting blown out. I get it was a big rivalry in the past but it’s not now. I think Frost knows where’s his team is at so if we got a game we could win instead of Oklahoma and start the year   Off 6-0 going into Michigan team filling good and fans pumped up . Because getting blown out vs Oklahoma could set us back against Michigan St. There’s to many experts that doesn’t understand what it takes to coach a team and building a program I get playing the best and beating the best but we’re not there yet. So some times you need to step back and reevaluate a situation and see what’s better for program ask yourself is 4-0 with 3 straight home games better for program or 3-1 and getting blown out to Oklahoma better for program .

  2. Yes they signed up to play in state where their celebrity. It’s ok to criticize after game being frustrated but there’s people that all they do is complain and criticize players and programs all year long but say their great fans. I guess some people just want to complain and be negative instead of supporting the kids and team.

  3. Nebraska  31-20 W vs Illinois

    Nebraska 49-14 W vs Fordham

    Nebraska  42-20 W vs Buffalo

    Nebraska 24- 45 L vs Oklahoma

Nebraska 31-17 W vs Mich St.

    Nebraska 34 -28 W vs Northwestern

    Nebraska 24- 20W vs Michigan

    Nebraska 31-38 L vs Minnesota

    Nebraska 31-24 W vs Purdue

    Nebraska 27 -38 L vs Ohio St

    Nebraska 20- 24 L vs Wisconsin

    Nebraska 27-24 W vs Iowa

must win games Illinois, Fordham, Buffalo, Michigan St., Purdue, Northwestern

Games have to at least split. Wisconsin,Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota

Games need major Upset . Ohio St , Oklahoma

So I can see anywhere from 8-4 to 6-6 anything 8-4 and above good season 7-5 improvement anything 6-6 and below unacceptable.

  4. So I just went over to Husker online to see if their message board is any different then this board. What I mean by that is all the negativity for the up coming season . I know last 4 years has been tough don’t get me wrong but almost every post on here certain guys get on here just to bash the program or the players. If your a fan get behind the team for the season after the season if it doesn’t improve then speak but all the negativity before season isn’t good . The players and recruits read this stuff and it does bother them. I personally like what I’m seeing for next year I think the talent depth now is better then it was 3 years ago. The trenches have more size and depth and the skill positions are more talented but young and need the chance to show it.

  5. Robby has played summer ball with my son last couple years . I know he wants to play both in college but to be honest I don’t see him playing college ball at all . He will be a 1st round pick or early 2nd in baseball and will get a lot of money.

What are we wanting Frost to do? He, like Chip prefers to run the ball.

2015 Oregon (Frost OC, Lubick WR) - ran the ball 60% of the time and was 6th in the country in rush offense.

Frost and Lubick grew up in Chip's system. Bubble Screens, PA Pass, Inside Zone, Outside Zone, Zone Read, Power. It's the system they run. I don't really get what people are advocating for, I find it highly unlikely they scrap the system they've both ran their entire careers.

I think people would like him to use the personal that he has and use his strengths. I think on offense TE is our deepest position and speedy WR is our weakest . I could see us running more straight ahead power and Counters . I think we are going to be big up front and at TE be more like Iowa St. offense and less like Oregon of old .

  7. I personally would like to see 2 TE sets more I think with Allen, Fidone , Vokolek and Randal give us better match ups . I also like Betts and hopefully Manning with Martin and Brown . We would definitely pass the eye test with this line up should be able to move people.

    X Betts 6’2 200

    Z Manning 6’4 225

    Y Allen 6’8 260

    W Vokolek 6’6 260/Fidone 6’5 225

    Lt Cochoran 6’6 300

    LG Piper 6’4 300

    C Jurgens 6’3 290

    RG Miller  6’6 325

    RT Benhart 6’9 330

    Qb Martinez 6’2

    Rb Stepp 6’0 235

    Production pecking order:

QB Coach > OC > Head Coach

    RB Coach > Head Coach

I don't give a s#!t how the RB coach recruits.  His primary job is RB production on the field - on game days - and it has not been good for a few years.  At the easiest position in all of football.  Anybody can bring players to Nebraska... the question is, "how do I now get them on the field as quick as possible so they can produce right away".  Anything other than that is just foggy excuses and bulls#!t from the position coach.

I agree with production on the field But would our running back room be more productive with Washington , Bell , Mills and Morrison all playing this year. The fact Washington got kicked off and Bell quit and mills and Morrison were hurt and got covid. I think next year if we don’t see improvement and a lot of it then he needs to be looked at.

  9. I hate saying this because I want Nebraska to play football as bad as anyone . The fact 26 players from a game last week have tested positive this week did we really want our guys playing Wisconsin. This is where Big 10 not having any built in bye weeks or not playing a non conference game screws things up . But us not playing Wisconsin probably is best to keep all of our guys able to play rest of season .

  10. After watching today’s game and other games today . We are on the same level as Iowa and Purdue with Ohio St having way to many skill players for us to match up with . I was impressed with the line play on both sides we didn’t get destroyed like last year. I think against rest of Big 10 we’ll be fine Ohio St. has to many Athletes .

  11. Why should we not expect things to be better next year even though the schedule is tougher. We return every starter on offense with more depth behind them . I would say 7-0 start could happen not saying it will . There’s no game in first 7 that we can’t win if we start 7-0 then confidence is high and you never know what could happen.

Ideally, we stop trying to be “cute” and trick the other team and learn to establish our will on the other team.  That, is play calling and coaching.  Up to this point, I have not been impressed with either as they fail to realize they are playing B1G competition and need to step the game up.

People all up in arms about the schedule or how it cycles makes me lol to myself and know they are Kool Aid drinkers.  I mean, did the Huskers of old care or did they just go and do their thing and told the other team to try and stop them?  That is how lost we are currently.  When the other team knows exactly what we will do and easily schemes against it tells you just how green/poor our staff is.

Not making excuses for the season our most explosive player was kicked off the team and we lost 3 games by 7 or less.We had no depth at running back and had to use Wan’dale to carry the ball more than we want to. This year if we don’t see a big jump under Frost then it probably won’t happen .

  13. Is it really Tim Miles fault that the Big 10 was down this year. The team went 13-5 in conference the most wins ever by a Nebraska team in conference. Today was the worst game they played in 2 months bad time to not play good but this team had a good season. They return 4 starters for next year program is improving stop whinning people.

  14. In Frosts offense which is pretty much the same as Chip Kelly's the most important thing is accuracy. I was at a clininc with Chip speaking and he said the most important thing in this offense for the qb is accuracy. It lets the receiver run in open space for big plays.

There is different types of this offense but go back and watch oregon films and watch Marriota yes he can run. But most importantly he threw to the right spots so receivers ran to open space.

Mike Riley is not a bad coach.  He is an average coach.  Nebraska can't succeed with an average coach.

Talent is subjective.  No one wins this argument

Dennis Erickson won at Oregon St.  In fact he was the first to do so

Perhaps him turning down USC proves his inability to make good decisions

Erickson won with kids Riley recruited like Chad Johnson.

Also Nebraska has been an average program for 20 yrs.

My biggest concern with Riley is the age thing by the time it will take to make Nebraska Elite he will be retiring.

If you can get Frost do it but if you can't don't get rid of Riley because he's bringing in good talent maybe hire a top notch OC that's young and have him take over like Oklahoma did.

Brian Kelly had a history of winning at multiple levels.  Try again.  His Grand Valley State program would got back and forth with Northwest Missouri State.

Did you really bring this up winning 10 games in PAC 10 is way more creditable then D2 football.

  17. Just because you guys want Frost doesn't mean Riley is a bad coach. First off he took over a program with little talent in underclass when he came in . Don't say their was talent or we would be playing so many sophomores and freshmen right now. There was 1 senior drafted last year maybe 1 this year so please tell me where all the talent is. He's the only coach to win at Oregon St. since 1970 which all other coaches have 33% winning percentage. He also was in offered the USC job. So to say he's a terrible coach it's not true. Maybe not want you guys want at Nebraska but the reality is whoever is coach next year will have a better team because of all the depth they will have from this year.

That’s using be run game to set up the pass. Not the other way around.

No I was talking about using the pass to set up the run . I wasn't talking about Saturday. In Saturday game Purdue was over committing on 1st down to stop the run that it set up for play action in 2nd half that killed them watch the game film it will show you.

  19. 5 hours ago, ColoradoHusk said:

I haven't seen many successful offenses that "use the pass to set up the run", can you point some out for me?

New England Patriots do it . So did the 80's and 90's 49ers. If you watch film Purdue loaded the box to stop the run on 1st down that's why play action killed them in 2nd half.

  20. What do think will change we're healthier than we've been all season. What has Purdue done played somebody close that's it. Everyone forget they lost to Rutgers so it's not like their good. I'm saying 27-14 Nebraska. Jones being back and having 2 more weeks of practice will help plus all 3 safeties back will help in passing game.If we lose to Purdue I'll agree Riley needs to be fired . I just bet on them I'm sure we'll beat them.

Oh I got ya, we don't have the talent... I guess Iowa State must have comparable talent  with Oklahoma. I wonder what Texas' problem is, the longhorns seem to be loaded with talent, but, yet we don't see texas lighting up.

So Iowa St. gets 1 big win and now their the measuring stick well see after this weekend. If I'm not mistaken didn't Riley beat Michigan St. the year they played for the bowl championship series.
