Because that's the home team's colors.
"NCAA rules state that the visiting team must wear white jerseys. The color of the numbers for the visiting team’s jerseys has to be different from that of the home team. Visiting teams only wear colored jerseys to away games if both teams agree in writing to wearing colored jerseys for that particular game. The home team’s respective conference must also officially certify that the visiting team’s jersey colors contrast with the home team’s jersey colors."

We can't wear the red tops....
-
Agree. As much as I want to laugh about this, I wouldn't pity the Cowboys too much. We have to prove a point in this game- that we can come out and dominate an opponent on both sides of the ball. At least we know they won't be distracted?!?

Well, when our LB's and DB's are the ones trying to tackle him half the time, and with him being a bowling ball, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't try to go for shoulder either....

Coaches Poll also out. #9

Not only did Taylor slide quite a few times (nice to see), but he also covered the ball much better than I'd seen in the last two games. I know I read a story in the papers this week about ball security...looks like it worked this week.

Well, we're winning. Wohoo?
-
Wow! Almost had a sack! That was kinda exciting.
-
Wasn't on yesterday, but I love the way it looks right now. Great upgrades.

To be fair, the announcers were way off on that. Taylor was reaching out his hand to the goal line. It wasn't close. Bad play/decision/effort maybe, but no fumble. Not like the other 3....lol

No room for Rex.

Come on! Give it to Rex.

I feel like our offense needs to take a deep breath. We aren't nearly the speed of Oregon, and we can't handle it. Slow down...
-
We ask for a chance that's fair

"I probably should wear the rings more...at least for recruiting." --lol awesome.
Seemed pretty warm for a Bo interview. It's nice to see. I loved that he stressed how important his family was.

I'll bite.
Thanks, Lavonte. I appreciate all the opponents you crush. Here's to 150 tackles this year.

Ahh, the 7-step system of college football. I think I'm going to be stuck between Monday and Tuesday for awhile. Well done.

His punting was almost as impressive, and to do all that in a pretty windy day was a monster bright spot in the game. I'll be interested to see if/when he misses how he bounces back, but how could you ask for any more out of this kid? Another thing I love is that one of the things he's trying to take from Henery is his even keeled attitude.

I'm still a little awestruck at how badly and how fast people are piling on like we just witnessed the entire 2007 season in one game.
Amen! This is weird. We won the game. We won by 4.5 touchdowns. There was never a single moment in that game where the outcome was in doubt. We clearly and obviously played a very vanilla game on both sides of the ball (with a couple of blitzes and a Burkhead pass attempt thrown in). Yet despite this, people are almost in mourning.
It makes no sense.
Agreed.
At least they see the need to improve...It's hard for them to "prove it" right now. We have to wait until next Saturday, and even then, it's a completely new game with a whole new set of circumstances. I thought it was ugly, too, but it's not like they are saying this offense is a world-beater. They said they need to improve-a lot. Good enough for me right now.
-
I think part of the blame is on the qb's and rb's, too. They weren't attacking the LOS. They didn't force a defender to commit to one or the other, and they both tried running to the same gap. It was awkward.

I see Dennard is listed #1 at CB, but he's not playing, right? I haven't heard that Bo is happy enough with his leg to put him out there. Anyone have the lowdown on that?
He will not play. Source from the team. No, this isn't the Martinez broken elbow source.
-
Well, it's a good thing the Big 12 reported the remaining 9 teams are happy and that there is "great solidarity" or else I'd be worried Mizzou isn't happy... So glad to hear others speaking out, even if it is Pinkel.

It was Nebraska football. I think we also have to be realistic in terms of the team we are returning to the field, and we'll be using an offense that our players aren't yet used to. I don't think we will know what kind of team we have after week one. For me, I want to see us convert 3rd downs in tough situations, and I want to see us play from behind. It's silly to claim we are the most talented and experienced team heading into this season. Is #5 too high? Maybe, maybe not, but I don't think it's hard to see why most feel more comfortable with us sitting around the 10 spot.
It was Nebraska football?? It IS Nebraska football, and as I stated before I'm well aware of the questions that are surrounding this years squad. That doesn't mean that they can not and will not be answered though. To me, it doesn't make sense to take a pessimistic stance on our football team. Take some pride in the potential of our team. I understand realistic expectations but some people are putting the cart in front of the horse and assuming that a top 5 ranking is too high when they haven't seen anything yet. To me that's BS.
Agree to disagree, I guess. The last decade has been a tough one, and we have a tough road ahead. It's only 5 spots off from where most talking heads are putting us. Remember, I'm also one of the many saying I'm happy hearing Bo and Taylor and Crick talking about how the goal is the National Championship this year. I don't think we have been consistent enough to say we are back to where we were in the 90's with perennial top 5 pre-season rankings, especially when we've seen so much inconsistency on the offensive side of the ball. If the season plays out how we all hope, we could certainly warrant a top 5 ranking. But I think I have just cause for the questions. Those questions are why pre-season shouldn't even have rankings. I say wait a few weeks (see BCS rankings).
Man we need football...now....
What Uniforms Do Ya Think NEB Wears Against WISCY!??

No worries. I guess we'll see soon enough. For as much smoke as there is in the air (twitter.....dam*ed @nuequipment), who knows.
