Ignorance at its finest!

We are better off maintaining as many of our team as we can. Good Big 10 teams are older and more developed. There are guys that coaches can identify as unwilling to be developed by their own actions and get rid of them.
Yes, I'm sure we can find some guys in the Portal to help out and a lot of homework needs to be done on that kid. Why is he leaving? What ability did he show while in games? Is he a locker room asset or cancer? etc...
MJ mentioned JUCO kids are easier to do research on. NU has identified numerous guys we would like to get on campus.
We need to augment what we have to make the team better in depth and overall talent. Not cast away half the team!

His wife doesn't want him to coach again, or she has something against NU?
He said she does not want to leave where they are at and Fickels wife does not want to leave Ohio for any reason.

I listened to a former Ohio State WR coach under Urban Meyer. He said there is no possible way Urban comes to Nebraska because his wife would never allow it. He said the same thing about Luke Fickle. Lastly, he said he is a NU fan but if Bill O'Brien is hired he will officially get off the NU fan train.

Sean Payton may do well here. He wants to coach again.

Well regarding Trev Alberts comment good OC's are also candidates for HC'ing jobs.

Bruce Read was the ST's guy and we sucked.

Well Fo Fitty didn't help us at all!

What was the name of Mike Rileys ST Coordinator?

and yet BJ says SF has things going in the right direction. So, I guess there were issues being dealt with and he is confident in the head coach.

The reason I posted it was due to the negative group think on this board. There seems to be one dominant narrative here and no room for anything other than whatever the most active posters have to say. When you disagree you are made out to be ignorant. They are fan boys of each others opinions.

OP makes and optimistic comment.
- Hey watch me be snarky about it.
- I can be snarkier than you
- No wait, watch how clever I can be
- You guys are dopes....I'm the snarkiest
- Uh uh, lemme show you how uptown funk you up I can be......
Look, I have trouble agreeing with the OP, but you figs who pile on trying to be cuter than the one before .......not sure what to say.

Do you have anything to back up the bolded? Maybe, a better question would by why are we heading into year four so young? We are young and inexperienced. Why, as we enter year four? Are we still going to be using this excuse as we head into year six or seven?
I think our recruiting rankings show we have better talent than the MR era which was inherited. We are going into the year young due to attrition. Guys who no longer wanted to live up to a higher standard on and off the field and guys who refused to stay and win a job outright. Some others just didn't have the talent and needed to go. Some may have lost faith in the system due to all the close losses.
No, I do not think this is a perpetual point of argument but it is now. SF had a monumental rebuild when he came because of the failures of the past coaches and administrations. Even so, I do find fault in SF. He needs to change his offense to suit the Big 10. We must have a power running game to win. Period! I am confident that will happen.

The number of all red shirt or true freshmen on the team is 111. SF is changing the talent level for the better.

54 out of 85 guys on our team are Freshman. I expect a tough year until we become an older team and stay old.

Bigots will be bigots. Can't expect less of them against Coach Brown.

Ron Brown is an awesome coach and will be a great help to the team in this position because he is also a great communicator.

Complaining about how difficult the schedule is this year sounds like crying babies. We are a big name program who draws a crowd. The teams that are difficult to play are the same as us in that regard. This makes for more fans in the seats and watching on TV. It is good business to put us up against these teams. Our duty is to field good enough teams to win. Period!

I say ban them from Big 10 games and make them apologize to the Commish!

WR's that signed with us did so knowing who the WR Coach was going to be. I'm sure we are going to be just fine!
