No...no you don't.  That is sort of the point.

Do you think you or I would keep our jobs if we we were just accused of the same things he has been indicted of?  The difference is that he's good at putting a ball in a basket & his "employer" knows that by the time he pleads guilty to a reduced charge after the season he will no longer be their problem.

Wait, a judge said he has the right to play but that is not good enough for you?

Tell you what.  I am officially accusing you of murder.  So you are now a killer.  Got it.  Because that is how it works in your mind.

The judge also said the university could appeal, but they chose not to because they got what they really wanted.  His ruling said basically said it wasn't fair that Shannon couldn't make money while suspended.

Accusations are one thing, but the district attorney found enough evidence to indict him.  And yes, I get the innocent until proven guilty argument.

  3. ESPN has Nebraska as an 8 seed in the South Region playing New Mexico in Memphis.

CBS has them as a 9 seed playing Colorado State in the East Region in Brooklyn.

Computer rankings are 29 at Ken Pom, 23 at Bart Torvik, 33 in the NET, 32 at Evan Miya, 37 in BPI & 22 in SOR.

Bart Torvik projects them as an 8 seed with an 90.2% chance to make the field.

Yes, without the best player on the court playing...Illinois would have scored less.

And had they called those two he wouldn't have been playing.  Just those two obvious ones.  I know they missed dozens of fouls both ways because B1G officiating is nothing if not inconsistent.

Hell, if Illinois had any guts he wouldn't even be on the team.  I know if I was a woman on their campus, I would be filing Title Nine complaints about them allowing an indited rapist on campus.  I know that his lawyers went to court to get him reinstated, but the school caved immediately because they didn't really want to suspend him but did so because of media pressure.  The university & especially the athletic department got exactly what they wanted.  They appeared to be "tough", but had no choice when a judge ruled that his rights had been violated, they didn't appeal.

  5. Hard to win when it's 8 on 5 in the second half.  Shannon should have fouled out with about 10 minutes to go.  Ran over Lawrence right in front of the ref & no call.  Grabbed Allick when he was trying to inbound the ball as he got up should have been fouls 3 & 5 ( they actually called on on him in between).

@ECisGod I think it would play better for us to slow the game down against Illinois, am I wrong in that thinking? It seems to me Illinois can run with anyone and letting them get out running plays into their game.

We probably don't want to go 100 mph with Illinois,  but we won't wnt to go too slow either.

Whisky is projected as a 5 seed. My question is, if Nebraska wins today and loses tomorrow to either Whisky or Purdue would that push them to a 6 seed? Will Nebraska have to beat Illinois today win tomorrow to hold the 7 seed spot?

CBS Updated Bracket, they have 3 B1G schools in the East Bracket... surely that won't happen will it?

Huskers could move up to a 6 if they win today & lose close tomorrow (preferably to Purdue).

If they lose close to Illinois today they should stay where they are.

They could put three B1G teams in the same region as long as they wouldn't face another B1G team until the sweet 16.

Can someone explain the officiating in the Purdue/Michigan State game. Are the officials in control or not? Are they allowing the teams to be more physical? It seems to me that Eddy is getting away with a butt load of shoulder clears, is he?

Edey is likely NPOY, so he gets all the calls & his teammates get a lot.  Izzo is the Dean of B1G coaches so his team gets a lot of calls too.  It's probably really confusing for the officials because they don't know who to screw over.

I was glad we didn't draw the same branch of the bracket as Wisconsin.

A lot of times a team will shoot lights out one night and can't hit water from the deck of the Titanic the next, so my guess is Northwestern crushes them tomorrow.

Painter took the 436th ranked recruit in the nation and made him the National Player of the Year. Nebraska beat up cream-puffs while Purdue played a f***ing gauntlet in non-conference. The share is perfectly earned by both.

Edey going from 436th recruit to POY says more about Edey and his desire to improve than any coach.  I'm not saying that Painter had nothing to do with it, but the best coach in the world can't make a player better if the player doesn't give the effort.

Coaches schedule their NC games based on what is best for their team.  Painter knew he had a team that could handle a very tough schedule.  Hoiberg knew he needed to play an easy schedule because the team had to build chemistry.

I'm sure the Huskers will have a tougher NC schedule next year because the chemistry is already there.  It probably won't be a top 10 schedule, but it won't be in the 300 range either.

My hunch is that lack of clarity is a key reason Trev is frustrated, though I wish he would've made it more known that it's been a problem.

He may have let the powers that be know the lack of clarity is a problem and their lack of response could be the reason he's thinking about leaving.

I've had jobs where I took issues to my boss & nothing happened.  It's really frustrating & part of the reason I no longer work at those places.

Agreed not a money thing...he was already top 10 nationally.

If he is aware of issues higher up, and has still been this successful, but chooses to leave instead of workingthe fix, I will lose respect for him.

The problem is that it isn't something he can fix.  He can't fix the board of regents or the governor who's boots they lick.  You'd think that pillen being a former football player would do everything he can to make the university & it's athletic department happy, but he's more interested in avoiding press conferences where he might have to explain why he does what he does.
