ESPN: Hey Bruce, let's chat
Bruce Pearl: Uh, I'm in the middle of a game
ESPN: Yeah, about that. We need you to lose
Bruce Pearl: What do you mean?
ESPN: Well, we need more SEC teams in the tournament, and you're already in
Bruce Pearl: Well we want to win the SEC tournament
ESPN: You do that and we've got a real nice story ready to print about your illegal recruiting habits
Bruce Pearl: Don't worry - we won't even make it close
Bruce Pearl cheat? ESPN slurp the SEC's butt? Surely not!

Which would be fine if they didn't double the print price over the last 4 years and give less in the print version. Monday & Tuesday are down to only 3 sections (from 5). Nothing like getting less for more.

It's called "Subscriber Plus" and complete BS. The cost of my weekend only subscription has basically doubled in the last 3 or 4 years too.

I don't believe that this series that Dirk is putting out there is "online-only". I don't get a hard copy of the OWH, but these articles should be in the paper every day. Also, if you are a subscriber to the hard copy of the newspaper, you get access to the online articles.
I have a weekend subscription because my boss brings the paper into the office every day. I checked today. If you want full unlimited access to the website, even with a 7 days a week subscription, requires paying extra.
The first installment on Sunday was complete in the paper. The second installment was abbreviated in the paper and ended by directing readers to the web to read the full article.
-
I completely get the "Nothing's Free" part, but if I subscribe to the paper or pick it up at the newsstand I should get the same content I would get online except videos and some pictures.

Dang. The first part was really interesting. Then they went and put the second part behind the paywall.
Not only is it behind the pay wall, but the version in the paper was a shortened version.
Did you see the article that Shatel had in the Sunday paper? Talked about how he got his start, but then threw out a couple lines about having to pay to read OWH content (it's not behind the pay wall).

Interesting. Averaged 19 minutes a game/ 5.8 pts.
Started the year kind of hot but never really did much after first 5 games.
Also seemed to be on a VERY short leash with Underwood. Didn't seem to have a lot of confidence by the end of the season because of it.

Dang again!
If Northwestern hadn't let their press clippings get in their head, they had all the pieces to be as good as last year. They needed to listen to more Public Enemy (Don't believe the hype).

As disappointed as I am in how they played yesterday and the fact that they are unlikely to make the tournament, if you had you told me in October they would be a 1 or 2 seed in the NIT I'd have been happy. Early in the season I was hoping for a middle of the pack finish in the B1G and they finished tied for 4th. As the season progressed my hopes/expectations changed, but that doesn't mean the season was a complete disaster. Hopefully they show up to play in the NIT and use missing the NCAA's as motivation to improve in the off-season.

Odds Shark has UM as the 4.5 favorite.
CBS Sports had NU as -4.5 & now it's the other way, so maybe they had a typo.
-
Huskers are 4.5 point favorites. Kind of surprised by that line.

I think the Ivy League used to give their automatic bid to the regular season champ if I remember correctly.
They did because they didn't have a conference tournament. Now that they do have a tournament, the tournament winner gets the auto bid. Only the top four get in the tournament and it played on a Saturday/Sunday so it doesn't interfere with school.

They combined to go 28/50 at the line. Ouch!

...and now Robinson has made 2 threes
Michigan goes 2-17 in regulation on 3's & Ryan Kriener (Iowa) leads all scorers with 14.

Requires a subscription... Might be a good read but I will never know.
My boss brings a paper into the office every day so I get to read it at lunch.

Looks like they get Michigan again likely...
Anyone know how they faired against them in regular season?
They lost in Lincoln on a bad foul called on a 3 pointer. Michigan got three free throws with one second on the clock to send it to OT.

Was a total waste, their decisions made no sense at all at the time to not redshirt with 2 seniors and a high rated prospect in Allen ahead of them. I may be wrong but couldn’t they still have practiced and been at games if they redshirted? Turns out at the end of the year it makes even less sense n looks more foolish on their parts. Only way it ends up bein good for them is if they were to transfer so they could then redshirt without loosing eligibility but again how many power 5 schools have 35 mins of 2 gaurd play open next year?
The could have practiced and gone to the games (both home & away).
2 hours ago, TimmyBoy said:We have any current transfers sitting out this year for 2018-19? Seems to be good team chemistry this year which makes me hopeful that most will stay.
We do not have any transfers sitting out this year. The only player who sat out this year was walk on Justin Costello - he redshirted.

There is a one week early signing period in November and a second signing period in April. I believe the April period is a couple of weeks long.

ASU & OU have proved that you can get in before Christmas. Neither did anything since the calendar changed to 2018.
