Huskers left Lincoln yesterday afternoon. The game should be played as scheduled, but there may not be many fans.

That has to be because it’s a road game for us. I have this fear this team is going to have a let down after beating Purdue. Fred has been saying all the right things. Hopefully, the team is focused.
I really need them to win along with wrestling tonight.
Definitely because it's a road game. Until they start winning on the road consistently they won't be favored in road games.
Did you make some kind of prop bet on NU over Iowa in both or just hate Iowa that much?

Nebraska currently 4.5 point underdogs with an over/under of 165.5. ESPN gives them a 33.4% chance to win.
Keita out, Ulis suspended. Everyone else should be available.

I don't have Peacock because I have season tickets so the only hoops game I missed was Oregon State in Sioux Falls and there is nothing on the platform that I care about. Are there a few Universal movies I might want to watch for the 10th time, but nothing I can't live without. None of their "original" programming looks that good based on ads I see. If I saw any reason to get it the $6/month wouldn't matter.

He gets by on size & strength, but that won't work in the NBA. He might still be the biggest (or very close), but he won't be anywhere near the strongest. He will be drafted, but probably late 1st/early 2nd and not play much. He can't guard anyone outside the post and can't shoot from outside 3' and is extremely timid.
He's a great college player but doesn't fit in the modern NBA. He would have made a boat load of money in the NBA 25 years ago, but now he'll rarely play. That's why he came back for another season. He is probably making 1M+ in NIL and gets to play where he is worshiped. If he were in the NBA he might make more money but be sitting at the end of the bench (or in the G League) in anonymity.

The impression I get is that, even if/when he is healthy, he's not expected to play any meaningful minutes.
That may be true, but at least he can evaluate his situation if he can go through practice & warmups. It also allows the staff to evaluate him to see if they really want him to stick around.
It sounded like he was pretty good on the scout team last year, so I'd like him to get 100% healthy & stick around so we can see if he is/will be a B1G quality player.

People ask the HOL guys about that every week in the chat. They don't really have any details. Just isn't in the rotation and isn't expected to be any time soon.
I have to think he'll be on the way out after the season.
He did go through warmups last night so that is a positive sign.

As we have seen winning on the road in the Big 10 can be very difficult. So, I decided to look up the current Conference records of Big 10 teams this year.
6-21
Woof. And no team has more than 1 win on the road.
It will be interesting to see how that plays out for the rest of the conference schedule
No team has played more than 5 conference games, so there are still a lot of chances to pick up some road wins. Nebraska gets one on Friday at Iowa. If they come out with the same attitude and effort as last night it is a winnable game. If they show up like they did at Wisconsin it could get ugly.

Great game. Amazing atmosphere. One of the best I've been in in 45ish years of going to NU Hoops.
The win took them from 58 to 46 in the NET, 59 to
4241 at Kenpom & 58 to 42 at Bart Torvik.- 2

Huskers at #6
Seems reasonable. All the computer rankings have them either 6 or 7.

I was hoping but didn't expect to beat Wisconsin. We started off way down but competed the rest of the game. I don't think we'll consistently get the shooting we got against Indiana, especially not away from home. We're gonna have to own the paint but don't have the guys to do it in the Big.
Nebraska's shooting wasn't the problem (49% including 46% from 3). The problem was the defense. No team can expect to win if the other team shoots 55% and 50% from 3.

Wisconsin currently a 6.5 point favorite with an over/under of 144.5.

That was one of the most complete games I've seen them play in a long time. Hopefully the effort stays at that level for the next 17+ games.

If they end up on the bubble & don't make the tournament they will have to blame the NC schedule.
Key metrics that could help determine what happens on Selection Sunday - ESPN
NC schedule is 332 at NET, 312 on ESPN, 353 at Ken Pom & 257 at Bart Torvik.
They are now listed as the last team in on ESPN's bracketology.

Huskers are 24.5 point favorites with an over/under of 151.5. ESPN gives the Huskers a 98% chance to win.
Mast & Keita out with injuries, Ulis still suspended. Unsure about Lloyd since he seems to be in/out of the availability list with undisclosed injuries.
SCSU gave up 84 points to Brewton-Parker (an NAIA team) in their last game. They are currently 335 at Ken Pom & 333 at Bart Torvik.

This could be big trouble for Illinois. Huskers don't play them until February, but there's no way this is resolved before then.

Does anyone know if Matar Diop is still on the team? Is he redshirting or what? Don't you still get to play in some games if you're redshirting? Can we get the big guy in there?
He is on the team & not redshirting. He is unlikely to play much in B1G play. He needs to get much stronger. He's tall & athletic, but very raw.

We are 16 & K st is an 11. That makes no sense.
The problem is that this time of year a lot of brackets don't get updated frequently. There is still a bracket that has KSU as a 7 seed another as an 8 & several as a 9. All were probably last updated before we beat them.

Nebrasketball @ Iowa
in Husker Basketball

They just don't come out with any energy on the road. At least they fought back, but they expended too much energy with the comeback.
It was also their fourth straight game with a two day prep where the opponent had more rest than them. Hopefully they will finally get a day off before the Rutgers game on Wednesday. Iowa hadn't played since Saturday so they had an entire week between games whereas Nebraska played Saturday, Tuesday & last night. I get that they are 20ish year old athletes, but playing every 3rd day for four straight games takes a toll.
i still think this could be an NCAA team and will be hard to prep for. They just need to win a couple of road games and hold court at home There are winnable road games on the schedule.
