  1. you know when someone admittedly asks a stupid question, and by no means is this to be construed as a personal attack directed at the OP, I am compelled to counter with a stochastic and equally  absurd statement.

My statement is, there is a brownish crinkle ridge that needs your mucus coated tongue's massaging waggle, this area of my anatomy, which rhymes with the slang word "aint", once stimulated by your lizard lick tickle flicker will unleash the wisdom of a 1000 irritable bowel syndrome suffering  midgets to provide you such answer.

Or you could just stop asking stupid questions....your, or anyone's choice

Why? Not everyone finishes college in 4 years. Can't he get his undergrad degree and work on an advance degree while playing football? Sounds like a good way for him to continue his education and not rack up a bunch of debt. I don't see anything bad about it.

How do I say this without sounding mean.......If you get the sense Tyjon didn't put fourth the effort in the Football program, let's just say thinking about educational degrees are penultimate  to taking a liquid poop after an all-night bender

I don't think he was overrated based on how he did in HS.  But everyone can have their own opinion of that.

But if he was asked to play a certain position and he didn't like that and is now transferring, that leads me to believe he didn't want to buy in.

Plus there had been whispers of some character issues since he stepped on campus that the previous coaching staff either ignored, tried to cover up, or both.

He played in Corona before transferring to Las Vegas B. Gorman- while in Corona I knew some folks at the high school level that basically said the kid had "issues" off the field- I think those issues followed him to Nebraska

Since we joined the Big 10 we haven't recruited Big 10 level talent.  We don't have bulldozers up front on either side of the ball and we don't have physical specimens as linebackers.  We just haven't recruited well enough to compete with PSU, OSU, Wisky, or Michigan.  Wasn't much different in the Big 12 either.  We didn't have the athletes that OU and Texas usually had.

Everything starts with recruiting, and it always has.  If we can't get more and better recruits to come to Lincoln, no matter who coaches this team, they won't win more than 8-9 games a season.  Past suggests that, now we have to listen and learn.  Riley recruited California kids to play Big 10 football.  Not all are incapable of playing in the Big 10, but do they really want to play Big 10 football?

I am not just talking about having stars next to your name as a recruit.  I am talking about recruiting player that want to improve and those who love this team and its coaches.  The one thing that UCF players all had, was a love for this coaching staff and they would run thru a wall for them.  This current group of players here, they don't seem willing to do so just yet.

well which is it? recruiting stars athletes or players that love playing? we had plenty of California guys in the 90's and never broke into the top ten in recruiting but still won- BTW winning 8-9 games doesn't sound too bad right now

  5. from what I've read 75 % of these posts and opinions are from drunken, and/or over-reactive fools- come on, this schedule is terrible and everyone knew that going in- also what did you want SF and gang to say? hey this year we're going to just lose because I've got a bunch of clowns from the last coach (although he did and kind of said that) - and as far as what he inherited from Reilly yeah pretty close to the 0-12 team Frost had at UCF- here is the deal - despite the crap start. I say we end up with a better record than last year

The Cleveland.com article seems to be designed to whip up the locals. Teams don’t “leave with a check”. I think upthread somewhere it was mentioned that they don’t actually have to pay them until next March. I think both A.D.s are doing a little grandstanding & this all will be quietly settled after the fan bases have moved on to other things.

Yep, like most legal threats and bluster, it has now become a negotiation, the PR on both sides is for show and leverage, the payout will not be whole but there will be some sort of $$ going to the Zips

  7. also contrast this with 80's and 90's linemen that actually cut-blocked by using the crab- technique  very athletic moves and teams hated us for using that style blocking, but as we know it was very effective when done the right way

  8. I heard that Farmer was "benched" in the 4th Qtr and left the field as a result of being benched- it was also assumed that what SF said about players buying in or leaving was sort of aimed at him- all hear-say and speculation, but I'm wondering if Farmer did leave the field as a result of being benched

The irony here is hilarious. The same guys who were calling for Riley's head after the BYU game are now preaching "patience" and claiming that the Nebraska Way pixie dust will take time to work.

    Daily Reminder: When you:

    1.) are one of the top-paid coaches in America;
2.) were given a blank check to hire anyone you wanted for assistant coaches; and
3.) needlessly spent your offseason taking cheap shots at the previous staff

...people are going to question your efforts after you open 0 - 2 including a loss to a Sun Belt team.

No one expects you to win a conference championship this year. But when your team comes out flat and uninspired after taking a loss to Colorado...

hate SF much? did he beat you at marbles when you were a kid?

As long as we're doing expectation management, Troy is comparable to Colorado, and possibly better.

Boise St punked them pretty good at their place no less, they'll give us some trouble if we play like we did against Colorado but isn't that always the case when you have a -3 turnover margin and almost 100 yards of penalties?

  11. go out at halftime and get a beer or two- with the way it is in the stadium (especially the north and south stadiums) its pretty hard to get anything from the concessions without missing half the game- I see this as a non-issue unless they totally rebuild Memorial stadium

I usually have someone at the Champions club that will hand me a pass and drink there at halftime- since joining the BIG, there is a rule that you have to be back before the start of the 4th quarter- I learned that the hard way by drinking and watching the 3rd quarter on TV- couldn't get back in for the 4th quarter of the Miami game a few years back

  12. Frost's offense isn't option heavy a little read option here and there and maybe some misdirection type option or QB draw, but its not like he features the QB in the I set option like our 90's teams

so if Martinez run 7-9 times a game that's probably about it- someone said it best- Frost doesn't change his scheme based on "what if's"
