People need to accept that divisions are dead.
There is no way that Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Illinois (and probably Nebraska) would ever agree to something like that.
And the TV partners paid money for USC/Ohio St, Michigan/Oregon, etc. Divisions would mean less of that.
The TV partners are not paying for Oregon and Washington with the dollars that they are paying the rest of the league. pretty much everything I've read is that UDub and UO are getting around $35 million. The TV numbers for those schools just don't add up to a full share unless something changes drastically by the time the next TV contract is up for bid. ie- Notre Dame as a scheduling agreement.
just go get about 4 or 5 maybe 6 more schools and then you can have the AFC and the NFC type between the BIG and the sec.

I agree with you. That’s why I say that it wouldn’t be a slam dunk that Raiola would be the starter as a freshman. But, I don’t agree with those who say “redshirt Raiola”. Why redshirt him if he’s going to be in Lincoln 3-4 years max?
i can see reason to redshirt Raiola-
since it is not the redshirt of old, he could really get in some meaningful snaps and game film in his freshman year.
the main reason would be to give the coaching staff and his uncle another year to get the offensive line right. don't want to see the number 1 recruit in the nation running for his life from day one.

He said he has talked to several elite 2024 recruits this week. My guess is those are the high school mascots of several of them. But I'm on mobile so I'll have to do some research when I get home.
Your guess could be right. just checked Dylan's school mascot is the Wolves, Aeryn's school mascot is the Tiger, and Ian Flynt's school mascot is the Mustangs.
that could be a sick looking wolf and funky tiger but the mustang fits.

bring back the Monster back.

anything new here?
did he move on or did we move on?
seemed like he would be a very good addition to the linebacker group.

I hate to compare players to previous players but this kid reminds me of Terrell Farley with the way he closes on the ball and sifts through traffic.

Please tell me a current or recent Colorado player that’ll get these kids attention? Deion is a brand of course they’ll use him. And all these labels people put on him but when he speaks and the way he runs his program I don’t understand how you come to the conclusion without personal bias
Coaching at Colorado is all the personal bias that I need.

Rhule is going to find that it's a lot more difficult to pull off in the B1G.
Frankly, it's unlikely to work. My hope was that he would use NIL resources to lure 4* talent and develop them... alas, just like his assistant staff pool, he's using those resources to acquire talent Nebraska could've gotten anyway.
I would give him more than 2 weeks to build the relationships that have been built for up to 2 years for this recruiting cycle.
Huskerboard does have a page showing 2026 recruits with 7 players on there already.

i believe the name Fran Brown has come up before.
He worked at Temple and Baylor and I think the times matched up, currently at Georgia coaching Defensive Backs.

So we all just want him to hire our buddies (Mickey) but not his buddies, right?
I think the good thing about Rhule bringing in assistants that he has worked with before is that they have been through this kind of rebuild and know what needs to be done and how Matt wants things done- practices, recruiting, offense and defense meetings, etc.
they have experienced this before while I don't think th initial staff from the previous coach had a clue what they were getting into at Nebraska or the Big 10.

Was thinking the same thing. If Cooper is going to be the recruiting coordinator, that would signal that MJ is gonzo.
I am going just from memory so i could be wrong, but i don't think Mickey was the Recruiting Coordinator at LSU.
Just because he is not the RC does not mean he does not have a place on the staff.
Besides Cooper obviously knows what type of player and athlete Rhule wants.
Not necessarily meaning that Mickey won't be on the staff.

Maybe Scott should have talked to a successful college coach.
Same sport 2 different games.

If he does in fact bring Geoff Collins and the Texas A&M DL coach that would be a great start.
i would think anyone would like to get a fresh start from the A&M staff.

My mistake, Clinton wasn't governor, he was the Attorney General.
William Jefferson Clinton is an American politician who served as the 42nd president of the United States from 1993 to 2001. He previously served as governor of Arkansas from 1979 to 1981 and again from 1983 to 1992, and as attorney general of Arkansas from 1977 to 1979. Wikipedia
like i said earlier no way should I be looking up facts or trying to remember facts after 3 knob creeks.
all good.

I'll be shocked if it's Rhule just because of the financial logistics. It would be a pleasant surprise though.

Great post.
The right coach can take a losing program, and have a quick turnaround.
Head coach of Arkansas Lou Holtz decided to suspend 3 players, (2 starters) before the 1977 Orange
Bowl against #2 Oklahoma, players wanted to boycott playing . Gov.
Bill Clinton pleaded with Holtz to reconsider. He didn’t. Arkansas won as a large dog.No. Carolina St. in 1971 went 3-8
1972 first year coach Holtz coached them to 8-3-1, took them to and won Peach Bowl vs. West VirginiaArkansas in 1977 went 5-5-1
1978 first year coach Holtz went to 10-1, took them to and won Orange Bowl vs. #2 OklahomaMinnesota in 1983 went 1-10
1984 first year coach Holtz went 4-7, in second year, 1985, went 7-5 and won Independence BowlNotre Dame in 1985 went 5-6
1986 first year coach Holtz went 5-6, in second year 1987 went 8-4, going to Cotton BowlSouth Carolina in 1998 went 1-10
1999 first year coach Holtz went 0-11, second year 2000, went 8-4 going to Outback
Bowl, beating Ohio St.Just a little problem with this Bill Clinton did not become governor of Arkansas until 1993.

I’ve never understood the hate for O’Brien on this board. It seems like we don’t want vanilla but we don’t wanna take a chance on a chadwell type guy cause it won’t fly in the big10 and we want P5 experience. We want fundamental play along the lines and a vision but not someone with a resume that lines up with that. Depending on how you view leipolds run at a lower division there isn’t a candidate that brings more to the table than BoB.
One of the things that I like about a BoB or a Rhule hire is that they would be able to go out and get a staff hired that is not being brought over from another team, which at this time would seem like another conference.
Plus BoB is a really good coach who dealt with the crap that happened at PSU and did it in a good way. The reason that he left Penn State had more to do with Penn State's administration at the time and not keeping promises.
There is a connection between Trev and him.

Hiring DeBoer would be a power move with the Big 10 money. He makes 5 million at Washington, so we could offer a raise.
Probably better spent money than Tucker at MSU.
Never heard Nebraska was his destination job, but in the crapshoot world of hiring coaches he would be a good get. Must have a good agent to get that out there to get an extension.
Not unprecedented for coaches to leave after one year. It's like NFL Qb's if you find one you like you better take him while you can.

What is the track record of MBG?
MBG just pulls screen shots off of message board pages and posts them on twitter.
actually pretty funny with what is said out there.
I don't think they actually report anything.
