While nobody would condone TO's role back in the day, the fact of the matter is that those were very different times and society and culture moved very differently. Our society has progressed in a number of very positive ways, which is good. At that time, domestic abuse was very often not taken seriously.  It wasn't even until RBG won the Oklahoma alcohol drinking age case in 1976 that women were even officially viewed as an actual person in the court of law, and even that was via a work around. At the same time, East Coast/West Coast culture with pervasive gang violence was at its peak.  All of this led to a downplaying of what was considered mild criminal activity at the time. You need only understand that the national media was on all of this like white on rice and still made no actual impact in meaningful changes at any major school, NU included. TO didn't "hang" for anything because the judge and juries of the time didn't consider him to be mishandling things in any sort of gregarious manner.

The way I've been told (different person) was that MJ came in and caught them fornicating.   He got enraged, aggressively pulled her away from him (domestic violence) and then went after him and started choking him.  She called the police and he left the home.

  3. If your a dude, slammin another dudes wife, that dude who's wife your slammin shows up and roughs you up,  and after the dude who slams other dudes wives is roughed up and wallowing in the shame of his slammin, calls the police to make sure the dude who roughs up people who slam his wife ends up in the slammer, the dude that slams people's wife is in fact, no dude at all.

Conversely, how good will the B10 look if those conference end up cancelling anyway or have tons of cases?

Way more style points to the other conferences IMO. At least they would have given it a shot.

Personally I would rather pull the plug a little late.

Were at risk of pulling the plug early so that we can watch all of our friends get to take warm baths all year, why we are stuck taking Dwyer showers

  5. How bad is the B10 going to look if the B12/SEC/ACC make it through with little to no issues?.

And if that happens then it will be safe enough to play in the spring. The amount of weaseling our conference overlords will do to cancel the spring season will be top notch! No way they try to play two seasons in 2021

The one in the original post was produced by the NU Athletic Department. Nothing against that video, I could never make anything like that, but it’s still just a video made by someone on the Internet. Also, using McConaughy as the voice over is annoying, because he’s a Texas fan.

You’re right.... we should pull a inspirational speech from the movie Witless Protection. Or maybe Larry’s bit about edible underwear.... it would have worked perfectly.... but Mike Riley isn’t here anymore

What's with the "6" instead of an "e"?

They chose six because it sounds the most like sex, and the coaches want them to make love to the end zone.

I think three things are largely playing against POB in the fan base right now: his perceived lack of fit in the offense, not taking part in interviews this week (for whatever the reason) and memories of the rumors that he rubbed teammates the wrong way early in his career.

That's a far cry from hoping he fails. I sincerely hope he's bought in and is playing his butt off for that starting spot, and I hope that's what he continues to do his entire career here.

I've got some juicy goss that fits with this narrative.... I have a sibling at UNL, who said the first time they "met" POB (met in quotes because when he sat down at the table of 2-3 people he wouldn't acknowledge said sibling) he referred to himself multiple times as "The Savior of Nebraska Football" before even going through a season....

I also heard a rumor that Uncle Rico is his life coach. I know the first rumor to be true, the second I am 50/50 on

At 1:43 Callahan says POB had a class conflict, which is why he didnt speak with the media. Do we trust Callahan or is this just one Irishman sticking up for another??

Sipple is saying there was no class conflict. I can’t believe Callahan would do that.  I bet Sean says “that bus was being a real a**hole to McGreggor, fr fr” too....

Rumor on RSS is that POB was told today that he’s behind all of the other QB’s and that’s why he declined.

  11. I know its baseball season so there probably isn't anybody on this forum interested about football yet, but here is some boring Spring Football video. Apparently the Hooskers got a new coach, Steven Frust or something, who cares.
