So I'm still sold on Frost after my text chat I had before the game. However Moos has done his due diligence and reached out to several big names. If Frost does back out we already have a plan B that I would be VERY happy with if Frost backs out of his word. We are still fully expecting Frost to sign the dotted line though

Hedley I swear you always swoop in at the right time to give me confidence just as Iowa is driving and I am reaching pure panic about SF. Please come home Scott we need you!

Well, there isn't much else to draw attention in the state sports wise. No pro teams or other major football. Saturdays in Nebraska revolve around football. Growing up Saturdays in the fall were always a party. Either a bunch of people come over to our house, or we go to a friends house. I can't tell you the number of people that I've known who moved to the state for a couple years and leave (or stay) having become a Husker fan. It's impossible to be immersed in that culture and not rub off. (Unless they are already a hardcore fan of another college team)

I haven't lived in Nebraska for the last 10 years, and the thing I miss most is Football parties with friends and family where everybody is cheering on Big Red.

I've never lived in Nebraska but my mom grew up there and my grandparents live there. I've been to 5 or 6 games and you just gave to experience it all like Sparker and someone else said. ATS or friend just come to one game day and you'll understand the draw. Being a Husker is special and SF knows that better than anyone.

Wow one guy was saying his source says they already have SF locked up and that's why they aren't connected to many coaches, they can pay more than us and he won't come home because if it didn't go well it'd tarnish his image. This guy was 99% sure that SF is going to UT. That doesn't match our 200% source!

Just wanted to let everyone know I was 100% sure Frost is coming to NU....well my percentage has changed......

I am now 200% confident Frost is coming to NU after my most recent conversation.

Hedley, your posts put me at ease. I am going to need your confidence for the next week or two!

This guy  has a podcast posted today (AAC Daily) with the opinion/wishful thinking that Frost is staying in Orlando with UCF:
    http://www.bcsnn.com/blog/253-aac-daily-is-scott-frost-staying-in-orlando-with-ucf.html

The interview is with "UCF Knightline's Andrew Phegley" (LinkedIn page here)

Neither of these guys sound like big time sources. Just entrepreneurs trying to get attention. Time will tell if their "compelling reasons" for SF to stay are truly compelling.

Ok, first off don't listen to this if you get mad easily. Second, I listened to the SF bit and didn't hear a "compelling" reason that SF stays. Basically they say that UCF will give him a $5 mill offer and Andrew Phegley thinks that SF wants to see his first recruiting class through at a minimum. Also, they bring up him having integrity and say that because NU fans booed in 97 (which Frost has forgiven long ago) and other lame reasons that he's not that high on the NU coaching job. You know because it's not like he has stated it's his dream job in 2012 or anything... Thought these guys might have one good reason, but next to nothing.

  6. Just read an article from CBS Sports talking about if CK doesn't go to Florida SF might. Their reasoning is recruiting and UF has more resources than N. So, my question is does UF really have more resources? I thought N had pretty much what every top program has and maybe better. Outside of location what can UF offer that we can't?

4.5-5 million per year for Frost to stay at UCF according to this guy.

Could be Frosts agent putting out info to up his value? Also, could be UCF hedging if Frost leaves they can say, hey we tried to keep him, maybe? I remember in the Husker Doc Talk Podcast someone posted last night they were talking about Florida putting out info that they had "reservations" about SF so that they can say see this is why we didn't hire him instead of saying ya we missed out to NU.

Sharp and Benning have been the only ones who have talked about the possibility of it not being Frost.

I think most guys have put out a "IF not Frost, then who" sort of article. In reading them, they all seem to say "if for some reason SF turned down N, here's who we think N looks at." However, none that I have read were saying SF isn't coming because of XYZ. I haven't seen anyone say SF isn't coming in their mind besides trolls.

My son was in the hospital a couple moths ago. Trevor Siemian, on his off week after the bills loss came to visit the oncology floor.

He came to my sons room and we started chatting. Really nice guy,

I told him we were definitely broncos fans. But we were really huge Husker fans. Recalled him beating us while he was at NWU. We laughed a little and he said he lost a couple to us too.

He noted there were several Huskers in the Broncos and the conversation took a nice turn (for my son and me) to Janikowski, Zaire, Potter et al.

His assistant quickly noted that “all you Husker fans are like a cult following, every time we meet a Husker fan they always bring up their boys!”  I duly noted, and after a couple autographs and pictures we shook hands and told each other good luck. He was great to my son and seemed to genuinely care.

Thays my Husker/Bronco story. Football this season has SUCKED

That's a really cool story, glad to hear that! Sounds much better than watching football this season!
