  2. Jeez, the guy makes a sincere post and we berate him for his spelling and grammar.

I empathize with BRPW. You would think that with all the hoopla surrounding Bo that the second coming of Christ was near. In particular, people seem to toss around the "intensity" trait that Bo brings to the Huskers as if it's the be-all end-all virtue of all head coaches. This may be a great coaching virtue, but it is not the complete package that a coach needs to bring to the table in order to produce a top tier team. I admit that I was one of those who blindly and foolishly put faith in Cally when he was hired. In particular, I bought the scam that the team was on the "rise", despite the won-loss record, because the team had lacked talent when he inherited the team. And when Cally and Co. had produced, apparently, outstanding recruiting classes, I also saw this as proof that team was on the rise (as if recruiting was the be-all end-all of head coaching). So, I am hesitant to "buy" into all the talk about intensity and going back to the good-ol' days. I am cautiously optimistic about Pelini and will reserve judgement as to his coaching prowress when I see the team take the field next year.

    GBR!

  3. Missouri got screwed!!!!!!!!!

There's no way that Kansas should have leaped over Mizzou - given the fact that Mizzou won the game against Kansas. Missouri actually got punished for PLAYING (and losing) in the B12 Championship game. Makes you wonder if the B12 should even have a championship game.....like the Big Ten (don't get me started on Ohio STate!!). They would have been better off losing to Kansas and having Kansas lose to Oklahoma. What a travesty.

  4. Since everyone wants to really know what is going on here it is. I cannot reveal my sources but I have always stated that I have connections and my bitching was going to help. Here are the facts:

    Peterson is fired

    Tom Osborne is interim AD

Cally will resign within 2 weeks, probably after TX

They are trying to get Bo Pelini

Cook and Buffet said point blank money stops if changes aren't made.

THIS IS FROM THE SOURCE WHO WAS ACTUALLY IN THE MEETING!!!!

Cally also made this announcement to some of his staff and players.

God, I hope this is true! Since you've staked your reputation on the line....I was just wondering....what exactly is your reputation?

  5. So, is this true.....a press conference at 9:30? If so, does anyone know where it will be aired? I had an early meeting this AM, and my friend mentioned that he heard on the radio that there was "breaking news" in regard to the Husker football program, then it broke to a commercial and then he had to get to the meeting so he never found out what the "news" was about. Maybe it was nothing....but, I would like to know if anyone else has knowledge on whether this news conference is crap and fact.

  6. I don't blame Coz for his ORIGINAL gameplan. I just think it's assinine not to change that game plan after Missouri matched down the field easily on their first drive. You have to be willing to make changes....and Coz is an arrogant SOB for sticking with something that obviously doesn't work.....just like the Texas Tech game years ago. He hadn't learned a thing.

But, I'm just regurgitating things that have already been said on this board.

  7. I think it's time to face the music and realize Callahan is probably not the man to return Husker Nation to Glory.

I have been a Cally supporter all along. But, like you said, I have "to face the music" and realize that Cally is not the coach that is going to restore the program to greatness. Sorry Cally.........you lost my support. This team of yours is not motivated to play. Lack of fire in your players and poor choices in assistants are things that you have take responsibility for. Your team has no toughness....no will to win. I used to think that this was all Cosgrove's fault.........now I think that the 'cancer' actually begins with you.

    QUOTE

I think are defense still stinks. This was Iowa State. They had us down 10-0. And they continued to drive on us... we couldn't really stop them without those turnovers... bah. 3 and out. What ever happened to those?

I know that people want to spin positives about this game. But ISU really stopped THEMSELVES with the turnovers. I never have bought into a "bend and not break defense" - it just means that the field becomes shorter as you drive down the field...helping the defense out. It's easy to see improvement after Ball STate and USC....but the Blackshirts are FAR from regaining the stagger that they once held.

On the contrary, I think they clearly have the stagger.

I'm confused as to why you would think that "they clearly have the stagger"....

For the third week in a row, the opposing team had outperformed the Huskers in nearly all categories. Again, I think the ISU stopped themselves more than the Huskers were able to stop them. It would be nice to see more 3 and outs.....100 plays given to the opposing offense? The D certainly wasn't keeping them off the field - and this to a not-so-good ISU team. Of course, I only heard the game. If you were at Memorial stadium and could give me some information as to how the Blackshirts are BACK, I would appreciate it.
