I fail to see why this is such a huge issue and what Alabama has to say about it.
There are some years where the NCAA needs to have one or two 5 win teams go to bowls to fill the spots. Not sure why graduation rates is such a laughing point.
A good looking win over Iowa could have The Deciders thinking about Husker fans filling a usually empty bowl out there somewhere. I think.

Not a good day for Huskers..
Nebraska 17
Iowa 49
Rushing 115
Passing 203

I learned I can still enjoy a defensive battle. Don’t get me wrong, high scoring shootouts are fun to watch. But low scoring dog fights are fun too.
Quite agree.
Not to mention that we won soley on the work of a (*gasp*) kicker.

Posts running together for some reason. Not just in the quotes. I'll try clearing my browser.
Meanwhile, our offense is as usual doing fine.. while the d is spotty at best. All season.
-
We've got the offense. We haven't got the defense. What bothers me is that it was the same way at UCF. Scott Frost just says, "I don't call the defense."
Mess of a defense.

We’re practical if not smart. Maybe Illinois hasn’t heard about our dome and will game plan for cold weather. Fingers crossed.
Yeah they'll be wearing the wrong shoes. At least in the first half.

I think Scott Frost is squeezing 100% of the talent that is available to him from these guys.. something the previous coach was NOT doing.

I learned something I wouldln't accept much before yesterday's game: We are improving, really, and Frost's regime is excellent. I do take a bit of shine off that with the DC, but I did learn that the improving talk is for real, big time. Top ten team down to the wire with a 2-6 team.. right down to the last minute.
This time I really saw it.. previous games I was of the mind that "well, yeah.. okay.. right.. but not near enough." Now it's more like, look out Big 10; next year.. and the years to come.

Mr. Frost's boys: 35
Urping Meyer's over rated prima donnas: 28
Rushing yards: 212

We aren’t on the football team.
It doesn’t effing matter if we talk about possibilities, and talking about them doesn’t mean we actually think they’re going to happen. Stop being wet blankets. I thought with my little message in the OP it would prevent useless comments like this.
Nope. It does matter if we want to say so. But your jealous rage is cute in here.

Let's string two games together first.
That is the operative phrase in this discussion, imo.

I agree with the ones who are predicting 28 or so for B-C. They've got film. They see what our D can(not) do. They'll likely press those issues. I really wish we could shut them out.. but:
Bethune-Cookman 24
Cornhuskers 56
Rushing 294
Passing 412

Oh good, you broke the ice. I'll quite likely be building up a library of such dorky sayings of my own too. Thank you!

We have a better chance against the mighty Wildcats of Bethune Cookman now that the players and coaches have tasted the endzone repeatedly, and now that the defense has repeatedly made critical stops with fewer mistakes.
Ohio State lost yesterday because of mistakes in both halves and great play calling by the Purdue staff O and D. Our game there should be much better than at Michigan..
-
That whole thing of blaming the previous regime depends on just what you are blaming them for. Are you blaming them for the (win) loss record you now have? Or is this about your own failings now as a coaching staff?
Those two things seem mixed together. The players that can be trained and motivated to make your system improve may not be enough to make it win.
Old school coaches used to talk about turning anybody with a pulse into a fine football player, given enough work.
-
Well they can mimic Nebraska's old football identity. Quite well in Wisconsin's case.
But Nebraska gave it up freely long ago; didn't have it stolen.
-
lmao ... reminds me a bit of the tripe Woody Paige used to write when he was focused on us. Only he was dead serious. Or trying to be.
-
Yes indeedy, we've got Ohio State in the bag. It's a lock.
Just also want to mention this bridge I have for sale.. an old classic, a real beaut.. Yours for a song.
