I don't think you can "accurately" rank programs starting in 1935.  Sometime around the 60's would be a bit more reasonable.

The "modern" era of college football can be started in a few years.

1936- AP Poll and Heisman change football from a regional to national game: Nebraska 7th

1959- Success of the NFL as a televised product makes them the most popular football brand and forces college football onto TV to compete. Also, coincides with Duffy Daugherty and Bob Devaney's aggressive recruitment of southern black football players that were excluded from college in their home states: Nebraska 1st

1966- ABC's National Game of the Week brings college football into every home in the country: Nebraska 1st

1972- First year of freshman eligibility in college football: Nebraska 3rd

1984- Schools and conferences are able to negotiate TV rights: Nebraska 4th

1992- Bowl Alliance leads to ensuring the most competitive bowl games possible: Nebraska 6th

2014- Playoff ensures that top team will not be left out of championship game: Nebraska 71st

Personally, I think the only correct way to rank programs is by grading their best 40 year run.

Rivals listed Bookie at 5'10" 187lbs.

I'm just relaying what he measured at The Opening Combine last summer.

Rivals also claimed that Zach Banner ran a 4.6 forty until he popped a 5.56 at a combine.

    11 is listed at 6'0"

1 is listed at 5'11" (probably jumping)

    16 is listed at 5'11"

    Bookie is listed at 5'9"

You're probably right weight wise. I don't really have much to compare except that Noa seems to have shrunk from 6'2 to anywhere between 5'8-5'10 and is a hard hitter. Also the flexibility between positions.

Bookie was much more of a magnetic personality for peers too. Off topic really and I'm very excited to have Pola-Gates hopefully in the fold.

Noa Pola-Gates is a barefoot 5'10.5" and weighs 165 lbs. Bookie was 5'8.5" and weighed 165 lbs.

Can see why he got leaned on a bit in the one on ones. Think he played in season a shade over 300? Hard to take on the best of the best with out being your optimal weight.

Absolutely, he said that he dropped somewhere around 20 lbs after football season to make weight.

At around 2:15, the punter is an offensive lineman, which is cool. Obviously it's not as cool as Nance outrunning entire high schools while averaging 45 yards per kick return and 26 yards per punt return, but it's one of those things that make high school football so much fun.

I don't disagree, it's good to get some nearby projects and I think they're more likely overall to contribute. Aren't 3 of those guys committed as walk ons? They're willing to join the the team and work for a scholarship, a kid from SC isn't going to come halfway across the country without one. This way we get both.

There's also a difference between a project that could turn into a great tackle and a project who can only play Guard. Fritzche is athletic enough to be a great Tackle - obviously that's not guaranteed, but it's a possibility. Nothing against the walk-on commits, but who was the last walk-on Tackle who contributed in a big way? We've churned out some really good Centers and Guards, not any Tackles that I can recall.

Yeah, his film looks fine to me. He's big and uses that size well, with good enough feet to reach to linebackers with his feet and which is rare at the high school level. He plays a little high, but that is almost everybody in high school (and many in college). I'm not saying that he's a physical freak like Baker Steinkuhler running 40 yards downfield as a lead blocker at 290 lbs, but he is certainly more mobile than a lot of other guys we've gone after over the years at his size.

To sum it up, I like it. He has the chance to really contribute.
