Maybe,  just maybe......he see's no playing time with the crop of db's brought in this class.................just sayin...........but it is odd this late..............Frost is updating the roster so fast that players we were very happy with a yr ago are leaving because they see no playing time...........i'm ok with that.

  2. I just had to post this,  I have a family friend(starting db under bo pelini) who told that bo held a team meeting telling players to stay away from K2 which was being sold legaly in Lincoln at the time.  The players had never heard of it till bo held the meeting and a lot of the team started by buying and smoking K2 because it was legal and easy to buy in Lincoln.  If MW is dismissed from the team, it won't be for pot.  I've seen on other sites posters comparing this situation to LP's...............idiots, not even close.  Whether you like it or not, Nebraska football players have been smoking pot (at the very least since the 60's),  and it ain't just Nebraska players.................LOL

does anybody here remember when everybody took in their own bottles?  The coca cola guy would come by and people would yell "mix" at him.  I remember leaving the game at halftime,  running to Barry's to buy another pint and getting to my seat before 2nd half kickoff.  Nobody cared(this was early 90's).  9/11 2001 changed all that.  Now you can't get away with having your bottle cause some old person with a cell phone will turn you in(happened to a friend of mine and he is a lot older than a 20yr old kid).  Who cares if they serve beer at the stadium.............remember people throwing oranges on the field?  That was dangerous.  People are acting like no alcohol has every been inside memorial stadium, and yes it happened all time when Tom was coaching.

  4. My original point being is that the list of HC's was very short.  If there ever was a list.  I understand that nobody was interested in coming to Nebraska, (who was JimGrobe, where is he now)?  Cutcliffe?  Nobody was coming to Nebraska, especially the money we were offering.  Grobe was a good coach, but he would of been equivalent to Riley at Nebraska............Turner Gill made the most sense at the time.......He would of been at least equal to Bo without the national tarnish.  Let me ask you one other question..............Who and Where would we be at right now if Frost said NO to NU........and we all know he almost did.  NU football was tarnished on a national scope.

  5. Here is my take on Pelini getting hired(take it or leave it)..............Coach Osborne was the new AD and he panicked when Callahan got fired because he knew Husker fans would not put up with the whole process Pederson/Callahan deal over again.  He hired Pelini because he knew Pelini would take the job period!!!!  I'm not sure if anyone else was even seriously considered.  Tom thought that the sooner he hired "A" coach it would quiet down the fanbase.  I keep seeing people post Pelini had Nebraska ties,  he was defensive coorindinator for 1 season and had a LB that yr named Demarrio Williams that made him look like a defensive genius.  Bo had no ties to Nebraska except for that one season,  he was LB coach at Green Bay before that.  I'll say it...... BO and his ego tarnished Nebraska's reputation..................Ironic Tom Osborne hired him.

  6. Wasn't sure what forum to put this, but have a legit question maybe someone can answer.  Zac is the main guy for football, but who trains basketball, volleyball, baseball, etc..........??

  7. This isn't the Bob Devaney or Tom Osborne era where assistant coaches stay loyal for 25+ yrs............Looks like a great hire,  Just hoping to get at least 2 solid recruiting yrs out of him at DL where we need it.  Who knows, he might really like Lincoln and stay for a few yrs.
