Rather than P5 experience, I like that many of our coaches have NFL experience as either players or coaches.  That is beneficial to our recruiting

And how have those coaches experience benefited our recruiting in the past 3 years?

I think we have the talent except at QB to be a good team, we just don't have the coaching.

Kind of debatable about the talent except for QB.  ;)  But I agree with the spirit of what you're saying.  We do have spark here and there on O and D.. but not that amazing championship quality on those lines and in that backfield.  What would Frost and crew do with those Alabama guys?

So.. I try to picture Scott Frost and crew down there in Tusc and I do not see much at all near the fine, almost machine like persona and trophies.  I just see a coaching staff squandering talent, even in practice.   They were fine in the AAC.

  3. Lots of kinds of bad head coaches.  Some are bad because they can't lead at the most critical times, they might delegate to crappy coordinators who are his friends, and can't understand why things are failing.  Some are bad because they can't adapt.  Some because they're past their prime.  Some because they have no imagination and coach by rote.  Some because they're fine at a lower level but have been promoted or hired to a level beyond their competence (The Peter Principle).

When I see Scott Frost's record, his career record, I see a bit of that Peter Principle;  he was fine and very good as an OC, etc.  And as a head coach in a weaker league.

I think about Alabama.  Suppose the Huskers had every single starter that Alabama has.  Would Scott Frost be able to produce, game after game, season after season, what Nick Saban produces?  If so, he's just like Nick Saban but hasn't got the right players.  If not, he's The Peter Principle personified;  he's been handed a program in a league that he's not capable of helming to relevancy, let alone championships.

Maybe time will tell.  I do have trouble seeing him as a great or even very good coach in the Big Ten, no matter the players brought in.

I can’t imagine us saying no to another game.

I think the guys would love the chance to play another game.  As far as the coaches, especially (drum roll, trumpets) Scott Frost, I'm not absolutely sure they want to, no matter what they say to cameras and microphones.

We all thought that things couldn't look worse than they did with Riley, but we surpassed that tonight and we don't have a plan anymore.

We are possibly never returning to glory.  Face it, damage has been done, and we can't get out of our shadows now.  So glad we had what we had when we had it for so long!

I've expressed that.  And then within 10 minutes (sometimes 10 seconds) found myself "expecting" to be dominate at least in our division.   So, yeah, it's a disorder of some sort that many of us Husker fans must bear.

Lets play North Dakota State and show the world just how inept our coaches really are.

Well, the Nebraska world knows how inept the coaches really are.  I think the rest of the football watching world watches other games now, much more than say, 15 or 20 years ago.

"I’ll keep going. I saw the Frost hug today, I saw Frost talking to him after the game,  I saw how he handled getting benched (which was a fair benching), I saw the Illinois speech. Man I want the kid to win, not just cause I’m a Husker fan but cause he’s put in the work. Idk if it will happen but a fair ending for him would be him leading this team to a 8-9 wins next year."

Agree very much with this ^^^^^^^

  8. Holding a team to negative rushing yardage is impressive, but tainted a bit by the fact that this team is a high percentage passing team, the highest percentage passing team in the Big Ten.

Way to go on the win, but the D still gave up too much and Special Teams was not solid; better, but not solid.

  9. I feel that they successfully cut way down on fumbles, turnovers, penalties, and ill-conceived play-calling.  It was all there, but far less than previous games this year and in previous years.

I also feel that the blackshirts looked better, but still are not of a caliber we'd expect and sorely need.

    Improvement, yes.  Enough?  No.
