Frost needs to look in the mirror over the bye week. His whole operation is mediocre. His mentor, Chip Kelly, is a f#&%ing disaster at UCLA. Coach like Tom not like Chip.

This selling our soul attitude is weird. Hire a great HC. Hire great ACs. Recruit great players. Get great results. We want to skip a step.

Hard truth. Frost looks like any other Nebraska coach (yes even Riley) if you take the blinders off. I'm 100% behind him but his minor league coaching staff may need some upgrades.

I think an elite coach would get an actual center ready. not convert a TE and stick with him all year. Let him be the back up or spend another year getting ready. If he is in fact the "future"...
Precisely. Do you think Urban Meyer just lets his center have a s#!tty year for 6 games? Of course not, he gets results.

No elite coach just hopes center snaps get better. It consumes them. Frost's attn to detail on special teams is pathetic.

Been watching CFB for 40 years nobody that coaches like Scott makes it. He has to change or its over. Nice guys finish last.

Time for Scott to realize he doesn't have the answers. He's borderline pathetic.

In year 2 of Frosts tenure I expected to see the team showing improvement in many facets of the game. Unfortunately we are halfway through the season and this team is performing worse than the end of 2018 and frankly resembles the Riley years.
With that said its obvious Frost needs to make some coaching changes for 2020 and this thread exists to discuss what assistants must go.
First we need a new special teams coach. I also have not seen any improvement in our offensive line and our overall defensive approach.
Please note I am not saying Frost should go...this is focused on the assistants.
What say you.
Positive reinforcement only is a failure. Sorry it is. Chip Kelly is a joke. Need negative reinforcement.

I saw this question on within another thread, but will expound here..
Are we better than we were last year? At what position group? Are we worse? Again, at what position group? If we are worse why? Coaching? Talent? I think we are better at RB (potential), DB and DL. I have some questions about OL and WR and LB.
As mentioned previously, there has been questionable coaching decisions as well. With everything riding on the uptempo/read based O, center snaps are killing us. Jurgens might be the best center ever at NU, but is he the best we have now. McCaffrey coming in for one play. By design? His own initiative?
I just didn't think in year 2, people would talk about the talent of Minnie vs NU or we'd be a 7.5 dog to them. I thought we'd be much improved. Maybe this actually speaks to what Frost was able to get out of the guys last year to go 4-2 down the stretch.
We're much better on defense. We've taken a step back compared to the 2nd half of last season offense.

I wish we were as complete as wisconsin is. Just seem to handle most of there games with a couple nail bitters. Some day right.
Have to be legit at the LOS to take care of business most weeks. We aren't there yet.

My hope is Vedral plays the whole game, does well, then when Martinez comes back from injury something has clicked for him (like not taking the starting job for granted?) and he plays like last season. He spent all of last spring/summer/fall camp fighting for the starting job. Maybe that was part of what made him so good.
Similar. I hope they run less offense which makes Vedral's reads easier. Then they realize Martinez could use the same simplified but still robust offense to succeed. Also hope the snaps are in the same area code.

Had a great week of practice supposedly so maybe. Not trying to be an a$$ but until he becomes someone the Huskers can rely on he's a wildcard.

Run Luke 90 times for 500 yards and let's get out of this Canadian sh*thole

Good points, but we're making teams like this look like Super Bowl contenders with our 'Lucy and Ethel in the chocolate factory' play.
Hey I didn't say I was a big believer in the Huskers either. Both teams are very suspect.

Minny escaped in their first 4 games vs FCS SDSU, Fresno, Georgia Southern, and Purdue. All 1 score games. Finally got some separation last week vs Illinois.
Purdue and Illinois both played with their backup Qbs. They might face another backup QB this week. Not a big believer in Minnesota, I think NW has a better team. NW has played light years better competition.

I tend to agree overall with Sip here, but is it too much to ask to sort out the center snapping issues 6 games into the season? And the dumb penalties.

I saw a former player on twitter point out that he thinks a big problem with Jurgens is his technique. If that actually is the problem, it should be an easy fix right?
Might as well name the player if he's doing it openly. Not for shame just for accreditation. It's hard to believe this hasn't been sorted out 6 games in.

Scheme is OK imo. People s#!t all over Riley for being ice cream and sprinkles. They were right. Frost has to have some bad guys on the staff that the players are afraid of. Osborne had his henchmen to get results.
