Can we fire Dewitt yet? I get he had cancer but he has been our worst coach and it’s not even close.
The fact that he worked at NASA makes me wonder about our space program.

Frost looked at this team in preseason camp and thought it could be good. Eyeglasses needed?

Scott need to reevaluate things. The poor special teams were a red flag for me. Yeah our kicker is out but guys were blocking those kicks with ease. It's just sloppy football, big time coaches wouldn't let that go and Scott was dismissing it. The turnovers and penalties are flat out unacceptable.

As far as I'm concerned, Greg Austin is on the clock, and Frost looks like an idiot for the Cam Jurgens experiment.
The year needs to play out but right now it looks like a mid-major staff in the big time. Great job outlasting Charlie Strong and USF but OSU/Wis/Mich etc are a different animal.

Scott needs a real look in the mirror. If he likes what he sees, fine. This is the big leagues and he looks small time.

It’s perhaps the top team in the nation. It’s just how those teams perform in most of their games.
I don't mind losing to OSU. They are really good. It's 38-0 and the total yards are 440-76. If anyone else was coaching the pitchforks would be out.

This is pathetic. Yes, OSU has much better players but this is Riley/Callahan level stuff.

Alot of people think OSU can run with us theyr're wrong.

Yes it should. But yards don’t always equal points. NU had a missed 4th down in the first quarter and a missed FG at the end of the game. Illinois also had TD drives of 2 yards and 14 yards after turnovers.
I'll take the road win. 690 yards and 32 first downs is a 60 spot.

11 penalties for 119 yards. Too much.

The Huskers win the yardage battle 690-299. This should be a 3 TD win.

What I said kind of contradicts this. IMO, Pelini had us playing to our recruited talent level.
I believe our recruiting average is around 25ish. I also agree with Hedley that we need to at least get up to Pelini like seasons. Hopefully without the blowouts.
Starting to stray off topic but I have to wonder how Frost's positive reinforcement rebuild vs Pelini's negative reinforcement rebuild will play out. Pelini turned the program immediately but ultimately stalled. Frost has struggled out of the gate and his team's have looked sloppy early on. I think Pelini inherited more talent so it's not apples to apples.

I understand that and I'm not really talking about it in relation to this game but making a general point. We have had better talent than our opponents but we don't play like it. That goes back to Callahan and Pelini. I'm not saying we are going to up and be Wisconsin this year, but if they can do it so can we is mainly what I'm saying.
We've been flip flopping offensive and defensive philosophies for 20 years now from Solich to Callahan to Pelini to Riley. This may seem like exuses but we haven't recruited at a level to overcome the changes. Frost needs time to build his thing. I think we'll like the results.
The football program hasn't been on the same page with the AD for two decades.

Yes but at the same time we have more talent on paper than anyone in our division. We have more talent than Colorado and we have a hell of alot more talent than USA. Why aren't we playing like we out recruit these teams? Because if we played how we recruited, we would have a strong enough brand to recruit a little better than we do at 4-8. I believe if we recruited at or around top 15 we would have the talent to win championships. If Wisconsin can crank out near championship caliber seasons with what they do in recruiting, we win a conference title and compete for the playoff.
We're 14 games into this thing. You're right on everything else imo. Wisconsin's been running the same scheme more or less for 25 years. Not comparable when just comparing recruiting rankings.

I disagree with your assessment. We can pull talent from those areas and put together winning football teams that compete for championships and I refuse to settle for the idea we can't do that anymore.
It's going to take time to do that. Our brand isn't strong right now. Frost needs to build it back up. Just as an anecdotal example that kid from Olathe, KS went to Clemson Isaiah Simmons. That's a kid we used to get but Clemson is just better than us right now. That's just one kid but it happens more often now.
