Why would you need to go that? If you want the guy, hire him right.
so far it seems we have just sent Moos into retirement with 3 mil and with no plan?

Suspicious thoughts: Former AD Moos was urged to release Scott Frost at the end of this coming season if he did not produce "a significantly competitive effort in the conference." There was arguing and attempts at negotiating. The bigger boosters were/are divided. Moos was "retired" in favor of a new AD who would set that ultimatum Moos wanted no part of.

will be interesting how state taxes work. Most people don't know that NFL players pay state taxes for each state they play a game in. I wonder if this will be sort of the same thing.
wow, i did not know that. although some states do not have a state tax.
-
this will surely, eventually include a happy tax, that each player will have to claim income (W-2) and pay the state and/or U a tax for using the facility.

Nebraska carries a massive roster now that Frost wants us to keep getting walk-ons...so that made me think that there should be a local company/brand etc. that should strictly support walk-ons. This could be a solid incentive for kids who get scholarships at places like SDSU, UNI, or a MAC school vs walk-on at Nebraska. We could reach out to them and explain all the benefits of being a walk-on at Nebraska has along with the ones we currently have in place. Thoughts?
from pandemic, to the portal, to NIL.
welcome to a f'd up new world.
hard too build a team culture when we are all about the individual (s).

Green wants diversity, a person of color or a female, his exact words.

If it's true that relations between Moos and Frost soured in the wake of the OU game debacle, I would imagine that Green already knew Frost's feelings.
the whole OU game debacle is a classic situation of no communication, absolutely no excuse for this public nightmare of who said what!

Frost has not improved the program in every way.
People who say this want Frost to be successful just because of his history here.
There are many, many problems with Frost. In some ways, he's better than Riley. In other ways he is not. It's okay to admit this.
As an aside, it's pretty obvious at this point that Frost isn't the guy. Hopefully I'm wrong, but the team has not improved. The same penalties and problems reoccur every game. The same coaching mistakes, lack of innovation and lack of player improvement on offense, etc. Recruiting is in a bad place, it's obvious where this is going.
Frost has made some changes, his style of ball at Florida does not fit in the Big. i think his coaches are learning too.
still not sure he has the offensive side figured out, which there is no excuse for.

if we wanted to be sure to give Frost a full 7 year run, the best way would have been to let Moos runout his contract, rather than fire him with less than a weeks notice.
now you have a new AD coming in with an unknown perspective of the football program.
and it sure looks like Moos was fired, not retired. i believe this was on Green's terms, which i doubt Frost was even consulted.
instability, no matter who new AD. no presser with Green, Moos or frost. no comment is never good nor does it lead to transparency.

nothing lasts forever. to deny the slow erosion of the fanbase is unrealistic.
things may turn around, but the longer it takes the less likely we will every be even a shadow of our former self.
other less relevant teams have passed us by in the past 2-3 years, not good.
-
apparently, that is good enough. the sudden departure of Moos seems to be of little alarm to Green, but it leaves many of us wanting.
kinda like the China/Covid deal?

Is it not going to happen due to the financial reasons and benefits of being in the Big Ten give? Or something else?
Nebraska didn't make any friends at the Big Ten offices last Summer, and there was even some shady discussions about the Big Ten adding another baseball game after the fact Nebraska baseball had just won the Big Ten title. I also don't know what majority of Nebraska fans think about a potential move back to the Big 12. Would majority be on board with it? Or majority happy with the Big Ten and would rather stay in the Big Ten?
I think the initial move was great and needed. At the time the Big 12 was on the verge of folding, Texas had too much political control, it made sense and was a smart move for Nebraska to leave. But now that the Big 12 seems financially stable and isn't going anywhere, it may be worth looking at a return.

Agree. I’m kind of use to losing, but what I cannot stomach is more coaching carousel. With all the hype and let down. Let’s just play our cards for once.
still think Moos’ leave was preplanned when he was hired. He’s 70 after all.
Moos intended to stay through his '22 contract. Green jerked his knee and pulled the trigger over night.
must have had a bad dream. June 30 was apparently the plan when he woke up and the bed sheets were wet.
Scott is on borrowed time, new AD's don't champion losers.

Ed Stewart as AD is nothing more than a political hire, he won't make a difference.
long year coming up. Frost would need at least 8 wins to have a ghost of a chance of hanging on.

Also, we gave Frost an extension in 2019. We're tied to him until December 31, 2026. Do we really want another Pelini on our hands, paying another coach to not coach us and just to go away?
this is truly a classic example of damned if we do, damned if we don't.
this is a 30 year low point from which we may never recover.

This might not end well for the football program.
obviously, especially if a new AD is coming here to hand Frost his walking papers.
OMG, who would want to come here as the new HC?
could turn into a s#!t show with no ending.

pandemic, portal, extra year of eligibility. lots to consider and likely confusing to a lot of kids.

Can you name one advantage of going back? There is just as many teams to beat us perennially OK, OK ST, Texas, Baylor, TCU, we'll still have an Iowa team to lose to Kansas State is basically Northwestern. We'll have a mind numbing loss to Kansas just like Illinois. We'll have less money, worse TV rights and be in a less respected conference. We'll have to deal with Texas's BS. I just don't get people's desire to go back. We left for good reasons that still exist.
agree. money is still the driver.
