the qb run game is a crap shoot when it comes to needing your main man to stay healthy. long term, not effective unless you are 2-3 deep on running qbs.
i mean, all 3 of our qbs were banged up last season, at the same moment.

Nope, this is another 4 win season.
5 wins, maybe. Frost under gun for sure in 2022.

In my opinion, some of it is schematic. Bo ran a system on offense that fit talent he could get to Lincoln better than Frost (so far). It was way less reliant on timing and QBs throwing the ball, and having people to catch passes.
Some of it is also the quality of competition, the division now is just better. Losing inhibits recruiting which promotes losing however. Wins must come this year or that cycle probably won't be broken as recruiting will get worse.
For a variety of reasons Frost has struggled to get output from the offense as a unit even though I think there is talent there, but he's running out of time. Not that I think he'd be fired in less than 3 more years but it will be impossible to get the additional talent for depth he requires without momentum in the form of wins.
Maybe he can adjust his system if needed but I don't see signs of him bring willing to do so.
how much more time does Frost need?? Moos needs to get ready for a change.

I'm not surprised. Both players seemed lackadaisical on the field, so not surprising their bodies/body fat reflected the same as a result of their work in the weight room. Bad weight room/conditioning habits are tough to break when you are a clear cut starter based on talent and no one to push you. If we continue to see such input from scouts going forward I'd be more concerned about S&C and the S&C staff - but I'm not there yet.
all the weight room hype and reports of our big time progress? more smoke, better Frost and Duval keep their mouth shut.
this kind of talk is demoralizing.

Given the Pro Day results, is anyone concerned about our strength staff taking a promotion and moving on to OSU or Clemson?
obviously not!

Farniok and Jaimes were told by scouts that they needed to drop some bad weight and increase their core strength and flexibility.
well, so much for our S&C program working well! maybe these 2 clowns could have worked a little harder.

pitiful if Frost doesn't make huge improvements in specials! good teams wins 2 or 3 games a year, just with solid special teams play!

not much to show case , indicative of our record for 2020.

Frost needs a different look.

Frost and his high hopes, like Manning.

I'd still temper your expectations for Smothers, at least for the near future. Remember that it's the top two guys that get most of the snaps in practice, and Smothers wasn't one of them this past year. Luke saw a decent amount of game time in his true freshman year, but the same can't be said for Smothers.
Maybe he's one of those guys who's ready to rock on day one, but I don't think that should ever be the expectation a freshman.
why not? other. teams play freshman QB's all the time.

Moos' first mistake was allowing Frost to bring on all his cronies. and sad Frost is not making real changes, especially on special teams and O line.

Niko was buried on the depth chart. A physical specimen but not sure he would ever contribute aside from special teams.
development??? or a throw away?

Unless I have missed something, I haven't seen anything about transferring mid-season and being immediately eligible. I have thought that this new rule waives the rule where the transfer has to sit out a season (and lose a year of eligibility if already used a redshirt).
welcome to Pandora's box.

I think this rule is the "right thing to do", it will just take time for kids to figure out how to best use this rule to help themselves. Unfortunately, a lot of the kids who are going through this process now are going through some troubles because they are thinking the grass is always greener on the other side.
so true, many are worse off than before they transferred , they will learn.

Coaches that recruited them leaving early.

Penn state, Michigan state scandals.
Players being lied to in the recruiting process.
Players being attacked on social media.

Signing more players then can be accepted in a class.
Maryland scandal
Iowa scandal
Morehead state in 2016?
Head coach hitting a player (jim levitt)
Thats just off the top of my head, but there has been tons of shady things happening to student athletes over the years.
Coaches essentially forcing players to leave., very common.

In favor...but the rich will get richer through poaching. They should not allow the free transfer mid-season.
agree!

this whole transfer portal gig sucks. some guys making multiple moves, it is just stupid and it makes recruiting a joke.
also makes coaches job a lot harder, kids might as well have an agent in college now.

The new reality of college football, off-season free agent acquisition. This would then make sense. With payment to players coming soon, we will soon need salary cap managers, luxury taxes and a collective bargaining agreement. Sounds like amateurism to me.
transfer portal was the beginning of the end for college ball, s#!t deal for everyone.

all this talk of culture is wearing my a$$ out! if the kids aren't getting it, the coaches are not doing their job.
maybe Frost needs to take a visit to a successful program?
