I think Domann is kind of this way.  He makes plays but we hear that he isn't always doing what he is suppose to.   I am not saying he David.   I am saying that since he is making plays then he has more wiggle room.   I think if Rahmir would of made a play or too then he would of gotten more time.

Now back to McCaffrey...I am looking forward to seeing him play.  I want to see more plays where he is passing as I don't know what we have there.    I think we are in good shape between Amart and MCaffrey with Amart starting.   McCaffrey is explosive though so Amart has to make better progress than last year otherwise he will get passed.

both should be more than capable.....we shall see both play, i would assume.

I think it will be downplayed, but to me the Purdue game is the biggest in 2020. With SDSU being ranked FCS preseason #2, Cincinnati being close to top 25 and the way the last two years have gone, it's critical to get off to a fast start.  Having a hiccup and dropping a game or 2 in September with the last 5 games being all against top 15 teams from last year's AP top 25 could be disastrous.  The psyche of the team and the fanbase needs a nice opening W.

    What do you all think?

agree, we are up to our a$$ in alligators already........last 5 game stretch will be killer......early unexpected losses would be very hard to swallow....depth will be sooooo important, those last 5 games will be brutal, punishing schedule to say the least. injuries will be critical.

  3. won't be too hard to guess who is infected, especially known starters who are suddenly missing from practices/games...for 2 weeks.

Frost won't say anything either, other than certain guys are "not able to perform"/"under the weather".....you won't see them on the sidelines either, unlike like most guys who are on IR, these guys will be in quarantine.

IMHO, this had a lot to do with the RB situation.  Short of having Mo move in with him, Frost did everything possible to motivate/keep/salvage his playing days at NU....

I also agree to try and get the guys playing time early and often.  We need to start building that depth. We have the 4 game RS rule, use it.  And not just for a series on ST play....See what the guy can do, before "that guy" is our only option.  And like you said, a lot of guys are going early.

Frost and Co have a total of 4 years together.  He (and staff) are still learning and it shows.  I am hoping the experience of Lubick will help.  A lot of my same concerns I had with Bo.  Young staff, lack of experience making the calls, no one to lean on with a wealth of experience....When things zig instead of zag, who does Frost have on the staff to lean on?  Again I am hoping Lubick helps.  Same with Chin on D...Moving forward we will have more growing pains, but gotta keep the faith.....

i am still not convinced that Chin is the guy.......not by a long shot.

Athlons FCS puts South Dakota State at 5th.

They return starting QB stud  (hurt end of last yr)....2x 1000 rusher who missed time last season and 1000 yr WR.

They will not be intimidated and will come in here expecting to win.

agree, NU better be at their best for every game......there are no easy games on our schedule, especially with our lack of experience.

Not sure what this means, if anything. People are going to get this virus, that's about inevitable.  We have to figure out what we're going to do about it as a society.

depth will be important this season, as there is likely to be a list of unable to perform players weekly.

i guess if cases have to be submitted to Lancaster county health dept. there won't be much discretion or HIPPA violations?

will be interesting to see how this works.....helluvamess, unchartered waters.

It appears that if JD were not leaving we would know it by now.  Its unfortunate but time has come to let it go.

Probably best to avoid derogatory remarks and vicious rumors that may be unfounded and unfair to

    the team and all involved.

agree, he is not around, next topic..

Read your previous post. You have made far more sweeping assumptions about JD's motives and inner monologues than I have.

i am not attacking you, but your post comes with no support......black eye for Husker football? your blanket statement is without merit.

no one knows his real motivation for being absent, my thoughts are just my opinion, as are yours

I'm sorry, but when a player transfers just a few games away from becoming the all-time receiver in a prestigious football program, it really is a black eye for Nebraska football.

couldn't disagree with you more.....i am assuming you know the whole story and talk with him daily......lol

  10. the way i see it, he did not transition well between riley and frost. Scott appears to be a real no nonsense coach.

seems to me JD started to think others left the team for good reasons and maybe he felt compromised as well.

i really think someone got in his ear and thus he walked......

i think we are at or near the end of this shake-out with Frost as the HC.

i don't think JD will benefit from his decision.....as most would agree, we are better off without him.....talent or no, if you don't want to be here, please exit and allow others a chance...and stop playing games on social media and face your decisions like a man.

Well, student tickets are paid for. They may appear to be artificially cheaper than others but I assure you they are not. My question would be do they do away with more standard tickets so that the students (who should have first priority) may still attend?

this is going to be real interesting, really going to be hard to satisfy all.

  12. kind of seems we are flooding the kicking room with bodies?.....what, a half dozen guys last season and that many again now?

guess it is good to have lots of bodies when you choose.

Reducing the # of seats does not = reducing ticket revenue. If the experience is improved enough, they can charge more per ticket.

that is probably not a good strategy----- in the short term for sure. many folks are cash strapped and not working, many will opt for the safety of home and saving money by watching from home. having to worry about finding a clean hotel/motel and eating out in a safe establishment.....assuming. the scheduled games even occur. uncertainty is still of concern.

I wouldn't read much into that. This is SEC country we're talking about, they're gonna do it whether they should or not.

agree, the fanatic fan base will insist on college football.

Id imagine if there are a bunch of schools without sports and another group with, then the NCAA may have all sorts of conflicts from

money sharing to regulations, recruiting, eligibility, championships, record. books, etc

I really think the mess will be monumental and even threatens conference unity and so on.  Bowls  not likely in the “shutdown” states etc.

The NCAA is going to have to consider an all or none ruling on football etc. I think.

i would guess not attending school would make all the players all ineligible, as not every class could be on line attendance.

even the NFL will struggle......imagine every week someone will be on the unable to perform list with co void.

Good scientific experts are smart enough to admit what they don't know. I think that's what we've been seeing. It's confusing because it's unfolding and there are lots of variables in both the numbers and the anecdotal evidence. But in fairness to the experts, much of it has unfolded as they predicted, based on a long history of epidemics and pandemics that our generation of Americans had been lucky to avoid.

You hate to play politics with this, but if there was ever a crisis that required national leadership and government response, this is it.

unfortunately, each state holds the Trump card, they decide....no pun intended. Even lowly mayors can throw their weight around, everyday is independence day, see it happen daily.

Hoping they get this figured out.  I am more worried about this country surviving this and the political and media hype attached to it.  Being a Marine for 26 years, I don't adapt well to cowering in a corner any where.  Which I have not done for one single day.  I deal with the virus on a daily basis and my wife is on the front line of it and has been since this started.

I have many friends that have lost their jobs, their businesses and most likely will lose their homes.  People that are so terrified they will not go out side for any reason.  I take groceries to ten older couples in my area.  They will never be the same.  This country will not survive 36 months of this.

I live in SoCal and it appears most are over this, they are opening their businesses.  Going back to work one way or another.

A friend that is a California Fire Fighter, tells me every single death, no matter the cause is first listed as a Covid death.  It can be removed, but supposedly the state gets money from the Federal Government per case and per death.  No idea if this is true, but a very easy way to increase numbers for fear mongering.

Social distancing is not working in New York.  56% of the current cases are from in shelter people.  How does that add up.  You die if you go out, you die if you stay inside.

Old people, sick people are the largest numbers of death.  Obesity is a major cause, as Hyper-tension, high cholesterol, heart disease, diabetes all seem to accompany most over weight people.

I think Florida got it right.  Protect those that are on the edge.

Again, I hope we have a football season.

Oregon says no football in September, California Governor says he does not see large events happening in California until next year.  They all seem to want to out do the other, one way or another

have heard the same, docs and hospitals getting paid for cause of death listed as co-vid....corruption is rife in the system.
