McCaffrey is a very poor man’s TMart. Worse passer and never can completely break one to the house.
I'd take 2 T Marts at this point

Seems weird to invest 100 million in a new football facility if the athletic department wont invest in coaches
They invested in coaches..... not getting anything for ROI.

After watching the last 15 years. I would not have fired Solich seeing the last 4 coaches
Never should have been fired.
At some point our fans need to realize that this is a really tough job, and being great isn't our birthright.
Gonna nap it out if I can.
Can't be any worse in the 2nd half can it?

What's your contention here? That under Devaney, they divided the defense into four groups in the Spring, the top unit was the Blackshirts, but in Fall camp they took the Blackshirts away for... reasons? Or whatever?
My contention is that these 2 statements (1 of which is not yours) do not jive with how the Blackshirt tradition originally started as per the articles you and I both posted.
"Just do what it was always intended to be. 11 starters at the beginning of the season. "
"I care that they hand them out before the season starts"
Per the Huskers.com article, "Initially, the black pullovers were distributed each day at practice and collected afterward. A player might have a black pullover one day and a gray one the next. They had to continually be earned."
That pretty clearly shows that the Blackshirt tradition didn't start as "The 11 starters as of the first game of the season."

Spring comes before Fall.
When is the first game of the season played?

Here you go
That said "spring drills" not prior to the first game of the season in the fall.
Regardless, both articles say that the Blackshirts could be earned or taken away in practice.

It did. Read the link I provided. Babcock reported it in another story.
I don't see it.
The best I come up (from the Babcock account): "Whenever they were first used in practice, the black mesh vests were handed out at the start and turned in afterward. On occasion, they could even be changed during practice."

That's your opinion which is fine, but according to that article the tradition didn't start with the first team defense having them to start the year.

The team started the season with Blackshirts, per that article.
Where does it say that?
What part of "They continually had to be earned" did you not understand?

This whole "earn it" thing is nonsense.
That's an odd take, since that was supposedly how the Blackshirt tradition started.
"...the black pullovers were given only to first-team defenders, as a way to motivate those on the lower units.
Initially, the black pullovers were distributed each day at practice and collected afterward. A player might have a black pullover one day and a gray one the next. They had to continually be earned."

Except this isn't what the Blackshirt tradition ever was.

I agree with this. It's turned into a stupid spectacle thanks to the horrible media we have and the weirdly obsessive fans.

I am a broken record, but I'll say it again. We need to run I. At least half the time.
At this point and time, that is not what Frost and his offense is.
Maybe someday his offense will move to that, but the sooner we all give up on the idea that he will be Osborne 2.0 the better.
I know it can be maddening, but that's not the guy calling plays

Except all the beautiful long balls thrown last year on rollouts. Funny thing is, I believe JD was on the receiving end.
I wonder what is missing now that we can’t get the ball deep...
I don't recall all of those beautiful long balls he threw last year.
Didn't he have something like 14 attempts last year?

The 2 positives for this game.....
1) didn't watch, listening on the radio
2) big red over reaction will be amazing

Way too much time left on the clock.
Still think PSU gets a TD and a 2 pointer, game over

That sounds reasonable, except that as the head coach he's always going to be focusing on other things, such as the next play call, etc.
It's not as if he would give up OC duties and just stand there on the sideline and attempt to stay awake.
I would think that his special teams coach or coordinator would be responsible for getting 11 guys on the field and telling them to watch for the punt-run
