Final fun fact: Combined, Carter and Obama attempted to overthrow the duly elected government zero times. trump has them beat there with one attempt!

This is a lie, literally never happened. You know how I know it never happened? Because even though Big Tech has tried to scrub his speech from the internet, you can still find it.  Anyone that isn't evil and who understands the English language at a grade school level can hear or read his speech.

If Trump would have called to overthrow the government you can bet that the state run media would be playing a clip of it non-stop, but instead of playing his speech, they're telling you what to think.

That same state run media also lied in saying that left-wing agitators were not present, yet we now know that at least one ocBLM/facistfa insurrectionist was arrested. We also know now that this breach of the capitol was pre-planned and started before Trump's speech concluded.

Whether these people allowed to breach the capitol due to incompetence or if this was set should be investigated.

If anyone is responsible for inciting violence or insurrection it would be the Nasty Pelosis, Pressleys, Ilhans, Cortezes, Schumers, Waterss, Warnocks, etc.

I can't wait for some of these pieces of excrement to be held responsible for their hateful, evil behavior.

Fun fact: trump has been impeached twice as many times as two times more than Carter and Obama combined. He set a record for being impeached!

Meaningless. I might say that these sham impeachments had meaning if the left hasn't been calling for Trump to be impeached since election night 2016. This has been a 4 year, 3 month rolling coupe against a duly elected President and more importantly the American people.

These sham impeachments are simply a warning to any outsider who dares to infiltrate and expose the swamp saying: "If we don't like you, we will stop at nothing to ruin you and your family."

I don't know which is more sad, that a President who was sham-peached twice did more good for the country in his 4 years than an incompetent President did in his 4 years and an evil president did in his 8 years combined. Or that there is seemingly a large group of people who live in the US that don't love this county or believe in it's greatness, and they revel in the fact that shortly they will be able to return this country to mediocrity.

Yeah, "identity" is another cop-out term that people like to throw about when they don't like the overall results.  We were maybe a little more sporadic this year because of all the injuries at RB.  But I think it's pretty obvious what we like to do.

What would people say Clemson's identity is?  Ohio State's?  Oklahoma's?  I'm guess it would be pretty vague to encompass all that they do.  But they are good so there's not as much to complain about.

Most people,  including the self proclaimed experts didn't understand Osborne's offensive identity.

Nebraska was one of the powers of college football before WWII, having the 5th best winning percentage from 1890-1941. Then it was 20 terrible years until Devaney showed up. From Devaney's first game to the last game of Tom Osborne's recruits, Nebraska had the best 40 year period in college football history. Since 2002, Nebraska is 35th in winning percentage.

Nebraska has nearly a century of exceptional football and about 35 years of bad to average teams clumped into two periods.

    From 1869-1959

    Nebraska: 359-211-34

    Iowa: 293-242-28

    Northwestern: 272-266-37

    Purdue: 295-228-39

Quick math, in the 90 year period from 1869-1959 Nebraska had zero claimed National Championships and average less than 1 win per year more than each of those 3 programs.

If you'd like to consider that to be head and shoulders above those programs then we will have to agree to disagree.

Thanks for doing the leg work, though.

Those 900 wins and 30+ years of excellence - They have made us a giant pile of money.  They have kept the longest sell out streak in tact (no team will ever come anywhere close to breaking our records).  They have helped us gain recruits that want to play in a place with a long winning tradition.  They have also helped shape our expectations - we won't settle for mediocrity.  I for one love that.

NW and Iowa can suck it.  Nebraska never has been and never will be on par with those schools.  Nebraska has been down for several years due to some very bad hiring decisions.  It was essentially burned to the ground.  The tradition that is Nebraska will be the main reason it will rebuild and rise above the Northwestern's and Iowa's of the world.  I firmly believe that process is well underway.  It's taking longer than our current instant gratification society would like, but it's happening.

I hope you're right, but the past 20 years hasn't proven that a ton of cash and a better fan base which sells out it's stadium has made much of a difference on the field.

Romney slams Trump lack of leadership on Covid.

    Trump proves Romney's point:

While the president continues his silence on the pandemic.  Offering NO leadership as the pandemic has esculated.

    https://thehill.com/homenews/administration/528706-trump-largely-silent-as-health-officials-sound-covid-19-alarm

Yet without Trump there is no operation Warp Speed, and there is no vaccine for Covid.

I realize that this is a foreign concept in the swamp,  but we need to be very thankful that we've had a competent President for the last 4 years.  It's been since 1989 since we last had a competent President.

This man and his policies on the vaccine has saved millions upon millions of lives across the world.

We should all be thankful for his leadership.

Must of missed my other post about taking the next two weeks off (includes both holidays) to be with family and resuming practices the week of January 4th and playing our 'bowl game' January 9th.

The last I heard the rumor was we'd be playing this week.

     No time off

In your opinion, why has practice not led to correction of the weekly recurring issues with bad snaps, holding and false starts?

The aforementioned players do a lot of good things and are relatively young, but wouldn’t a good coach have fixed these issues by game 8?

Imo, this staff said that they don't correct errors in practice. They want to go fast in practice and make the corrections in the meeting room.

I think the staff needs to rethink their handling of errors committed by their players.

Horrible take. We are still  #8 in all time wins after the last 20 years of sucking. Over 900 wins. Purdue has roughly 600. Iowa slightly over 600. Northwestern in 500s. You can’t erase 30 years of history and say without this then they are this. Because even then they are still not close in wins. We are still over 600 wins if you take away our best 30 years. I have never heard lightning in a bottle used to describe 30-40 years of excellence, 1 year maybe. 2017 UCF, 2019 LSU

How much have those 900 wins and 30 years of excellence helped since 2001?

The fact of the matter is at this time we would be lucky to be Iowa or NW. This nonsense that a portion of our fan base spews about "not being a training ground for coaches" or "needing experienced P5 coordinators" isn't going to happen.

I forget the exact stat, but essentially Nebraska is the state with the lowest population to have produced a Division 1 National Champion in either football or men's basketball. And those 5 NCs came in a 26 year stretch.

That is an outlier, an anomaly.  Outside of that stretch Nebraska hasn't been any different than Iowa or a number programs that our fans like to say are mediocre. And we've been looking up at the Iowas and NWs since we entered the B1G.

Well. Ryan Day had been a coordinator all of two separate one year stints (one at Temple and one at BC) before becoming OC for a season at OSU and then head coach at Ohio State currently. Also Brian Hartline served one year as a GA before becoming their WR’s coach as his first assistant coaching gig ever.

Oklahoma hired Lincoln Riley with zero head coaching experience.

You hire good coaches and people and let them learn on the job. Every situation is unique and different. One of the most important things NU needs to to establish and develop an identity and culture. For everyone (me included) complaining about the play calling at times this year- we were 4th in the B1G and 1st in the West in YPG. The team is/was extremely young. Let these guys develop and be patient. The biggest area NU can and should continue to invest in is our recruiting staff and capabilities- this is ultimately the thing that will turn this around. Need to continue to recruit better athletes across the board, and actually keep them here once they get on campus.

    Good post.

I don't get all of the hate for Austin.  Sure the OL hasn't been great,  but against Rutgers we started 3 freshman, a RS sophomore, and a 5th year senior who might be the worst of the starting bunch.

At some point,  Nebraska fans will need to realize that it's not the 70's- 90's anymore. Those years were an anomaly, lightning in a bottle.  2 HoF HCs. And college football is so much different than it was 25 years ago.

We aren't a destination job. We are Iowa,  NW, and Purdue.
