  1. I learned, or perhaps re-learned, that 2AM one flaw away from being a pretty freaking amazing player.  If he could, through some dark magic, make a way to eliminate the turn-overs, he'd be top 10 in the country I think.  I also think he is hurting in a few ways that have an impact on his ability.  Was he 24-28 tonight or something crazy like that...plus 150+ in rushing???  Wow.  We maybe need to dock Verduzco's pay until he get the turn over thing fixed...he is the guru after all.

"That really good AM run for a TD in the first was interesting. You could almost read his thoughts abs I wonder if he’s thinking and trying to hard.

He went to go left, appeared to have remembered something a coach probably told him, ran back and got into the pocket and appeared to be ready to pass, then re-thought that thought and scrambled. How many times do you see someone consciously run back into the center? "

    Great Observation

would everyone rather be a team like Purdue who has to say "remember that one time we won the Rose Bowl"?  Things don't look good now but it seems to me the underclassman on this team have that will to win.  When they are the majority of the team things will go right.

Uh oh...cue the "talent vs coaching" discussion in 3.....2......1...  :-)

Frank's off field actions were not helping the cause either.  Add in a new AD trying to put his stamp in the history annals didn't help his case either.

I think the new AD was trying to put his stamp in the history anals....would explain a lot.

Maybe, but a lot less so than in losses, and this is his 3rd year. 3rd year starters catch more flack than 1 game starters. The same goes with coaches. Frost is taking more s#!t this year than he took his 1st year.

    Great points Moraine.

What's worse 2020 or Frost's playcalling in the redzone

I am curious. With the players that seem to  be available, what plays would you call?  I'd love to see Betts again somehow.  But beyond that, it seems like WanDale and Martin are our only available backs right now.  I suspect it is a bit of both...limited available skill bodies AND some poor play calling.  I don't know how to tell who is doing the play calling.

  7. It is a dark, dark day.  The Huskers just can't seem to get and keep it together during a game.  Some bright spots, yes, but the sun and blue sky can occasionally be seen when you are sucked up into the vortex of a tornado!  AND....I can't get my danged chainsaw to start!  Bah!!!!

I think it's a clear choice now. McCaffrey had 2 fewer completions today than Martinez, on 15 fewer attempts. McCaffrey also had more yards per attempt. He is also much more decisive when it comes to choosing to run and then during the actual run. Martinez has regressed in every aspect of the game.

Go with McCaffrey, and the rest of the young guns.  There are a lot of talented, but inexperienced players in Lincoln.  Get them on the field in what is basically a throw away year.  Get them some game experience, now.  No more 'stockpiling' good players for 'sometime' in the future.  Either the future is now, or there is no future basically.  If Martinez can win the spot back in practice, then great.   Otherwise give McCaffery and the younger fellas their shot.

  9. Quick, stupid thought.  Is it official the players can make money from their likeness?  Am I crazy to envision a first round draft prospect from Ohio State in this commercial "When I'm not at practice I wear Brand W Covid Face Masks, to make sure I don't let my team down"

  10. I don't pay a lot of attention, so I assumed high school sport were on hold too.  Was surprised when my family chat started reporting scores from our old foes and friendly schools from days gone by.  Good for them, I hope all turns out well.  My uneducated guess is that some teams will get the wuflu, some will get other flu, some will get a bout of staph and so one.  Hope the kids are all safe and well cared for.  Having been a kid once, unless an adult told me I couldn't play, I'd play with two wisdom teeth just removed.
