For you posters that are picking Florida as your dream place to live I have one question. Are you high? Either you have never been there or you like cranky old people , stiffeling heat , horrible traffic , high crime , over-population , gready developers , polluted beaches , corrupt public officials , and materialistic , shallow people. I basically grew up there and watched it go from a wild , wonderfully magic place to a cesspool. I saw all of these great natural wonders like crystal clear lakes and rivers in virgin palm and scrub oak hammocks turned into shopping malls and gated communities. They still to this day pave over 400 acres everyday in Florida. Even north Florida is under attack now. I hate to wish destruction on people or places , but I do in the case of Florida. I wish for a cat 5 hurricane to wipe the place clean and give it back to mother nature where it should be. If enough people lost their homes and livelihoods down there , people would stop moving there. I was lucky enough to see Florida before it was destroyed by the tourism trade and developers. What is down there now is not Florida.

I was scolded by personal message from a certain mod the other day for this. Since then the threads have gotten even more ridiculous than my "who Oprah indorsed for HC" thread. I'm kinda pissed for being singled out for this when I see everyone doing it.

It is legal to marry your first cousin here in Colorado. It is illegal to do that in Nebraska. I love bringing this little tidbit of info up to people here who try and say that Nebraska is full of inbred hicks. Atleast we have enough sense to make this practice illegal. It is also legal in Kansas and Oklahoma to marry your first cousin , although that shouldnt suprise anyone.

I would say that you should get a real tree. It is the lesser of 2 evils. A fake tree will eventually end up in a landfill whereas a real tree will decompose naturally. A real tree is usually grown for just that purpose and is a renewable resource. That's what Al Gore would do.

Dorito Chicken Taco Fingers

 

4 boneless skinless chicken breasts

1/2 cup mayonnaise

3 tablespoons milk

1 tablespoon taco seasoning

favorite flavor of dorito's tortilla chips

 

 

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

Spray a baking sheet with no stick cooking spray.

Cut chicken into 1/2 inch strips.

Combine mayo, milk in a large bowl.

Place tortilla chips and taco seasoning in zip lock baggie, crush chips into medium size crumbs.

Pour chip mix into a medium size bowl.

Coat chicken strips in mayo mixture, then in the crushed tortilla chips.

Place on baking sheet, be sure to not overlap.

Bake until just browned and chicken is cooked through about 10-12 minutes.

Serve with sour cream and salsa.

Looks good , but I can feel the heartburn just looking at it.

Tortola is very nice. Never been to St. Maarten but have heard it is awesome. Lots of nakedness on the beach. Puerto Rico is nice in the resort areas. St. Thomas is a sh#thole. I lived there for a time when I was younger. Be careful and stay on the beaten path in St. Thomas. Same with Nassau. Do some scuba diving in Tortola if you get a chance. Some of the best diving I have ever done was in the BVIs. Have fun!

None of the above. I have no kids so I really dont have to do all that stuff. I will buy my GF some fishing gear , because I know it will end up being my fishing gear soon. I'll send my folks a nice bottle of wine as I do every year. They will send me more fishing gear. A bunch of my relatives in Nebraska have turned into Jahovahs Witnesses so I dont have to worry about them anymore. The GF is going to Minnesota to see her folks for the holidays so it will be the dog , the cat and myself here for Christmas. Sounds like the perfect Christmas to me.

I'm a democrat but really don't vote according to party lines. I was intrigued by Huckabee, I thought he had a lot of good answers and really didn't get caught up in the Rudy - Romney - Thompson debacle. I think Romney was the big loser in the night, he got ganged up on a few times and really didn't have any good rebuttal.

I find Huckabee to be way too socially conservative. He seems to really try hard to appeal to the religious right nutjobs. I think he kinda is one of those nutjobs.

I haven't read through this whole thread and I don't need to. I don't care if you are a Husker fan, a Buff fan, a Sooner fan, a Longhorn fan. I don't care if you sit in the student section, the family section, the older adult section, the anything section. You do not -- and I mean you do not -- ever use profanity of any kind and anywhere in front of little kids. I don't care if it's in a stadium for a sports event, at home, at school, or in a restaurant. You don't do it Period!!!!!!!!

 

So while I think it is foolish to sit in the student section in any stadium, that doesn't give the green light for college student to act up. No excuse! They are old enough to no better than to do that. And if they can't handle their alcohol, they shouldn't drink! So when it comes to little kids, it shouldn't be about defending these fans or those fans. You don't use vulgar lanquage in front of them!!!!

 

Good point, college kids are going to act like A-holes regardless of where they go to school, Huskerdedhed just thinks that there is some monopoly in Boulder on them and we have seen escpecially this year that no one is immune.
