I agree with the Evridge comment. He is a nice player, and most likely will only get better. With all the freshman playing on that line, and if they mature enough, they should give him some time in the pocket to have a decent year in 06'. Just like NU's line, need time to mature. It is all about the new coaches in Manhattan for 06'. Should resemble NU's offense a bit.
Meyer at ISU is solid, but a consistent pass rush gets him to wilt under the pressure rather easily. Blythe is his only real threat, and with Hicks gone that backfield doesn't scare me.
CU - Nothin' at all. The QB Cox had a nice ending to their bowl game, but that was in a meaningless situation. Although that coach could pull out the bag of tricks and surprise some. Give him a couple of years, the Buffs could surprise.
KU brings in a new QB, either a true frosh or redshirt frosh. I don't consider them a threat at all. (No "D" as well, their all gone.) Their "O" really did not do anything except, of course, against NU but that was a total surprise.
Mizzou has Chase Daniel stepping in for the departed Brad Smith. I think he has a chance to be special. Get that guy some legit receivers and some decent OL's and he could challenge for all Big XII honors down the line. But it is still Mizzou. The football gods always seem to crap on the Tigers.
Finally, NU. Coming back with Taylor is so important to the success for 06'. Another year in the system for Taylor should pay off rather well for NU's offense. It is all about the offensive line these days, and if they give Zac time in the pocket, he could be picking apart many of the Big XII's backfields this year. I like him better than Meyer, if his line gives him a chance.
I am not a Husker Fan, but I totally respect NU's past and like the way true football fans speak about the game. I really like this website, it's good.
