  1. @TravMorgan9: A source close to the program tells me #Huskers will announce Jim Tressel as the new head coach on Saturday, with Frost as OC/Ass. HC. #GBR

I was going to say that makes a huge distraction for Oregon's Pac 12 title game....

Then, I remembered Oregon plays Friday night.

Is it just me, or does this all seem slightly obsessive?

Nah. I wouldn't have any idea what you're talking about. On an unrelated note, is it weird to hit refresh every 2 minutes I'm not even joking?

Yes, it is weird. I've been doing it every 30 seconds

The Columbus airport is 2 hours 30min from Youngstown so I'm not sure why'd they'd be flying outta Columbus with The Vest unless they made a long ass round trip to and from youngstown.

Any idea where Tressel's agent lives? Columbus?

    Interesting

When it comes to picking a coach, I don't like coaches who are supposedly good coaches, but have only had pedestrian winning records. Take McElwain for instance. He has coached at CSU for three years. He's had one good year, this year. In the previous two years, he had a losing record, 12-14. Yeah, CSU had a good year, but they only have one semi-quality win, a victory over Boston College. The rest of their schedule was pretty-much patsies. I think it's risky diving for a guy who has only had one good season. McElwain is similar to Brady Hoke, who had several losing seasons at Ball State but then took them to 12-1. The point is that a good coach should have a good record over time AND have demonstrated the skills of a good football coach.

Yes, you can argue that Scott Frost can't be trusted. And you would be partially right. Yes, both Frost and McElwain could come here and both do very well. But, the reality is that neither has a long enough body of work to determine whether they will actually be good, or just be another Brady Hoke.

It's easy to get infatuated with a guy because he becomes the flavor of the month. Now that Florida is pursuing McElwain, he is suddenly supposedly a better coach. The guy still has only one winning season.

Disagree. It takes a great coach to take CSU to 10-2.

Not true. We all know that Bo could have taken them to 10-2. Their schedule was weak.

    You can't be serious...

Start connecting the dots guys. ALL the way back to post iowa last year. All the tweets today about tressels interest last year. No word from tressel. Kelloggs appearingly trolling tweet about tressel touring facilities snd campus so often over the past year. Tressels agents weird "no contact" comment. The dynamics of coach search and hirings. Eichorsts tremendous display of swagger and confidence andcrelaxtion during the presser. Many have said ge appears as a guy thats already got his man. Eichy even slipped up and said "we have a tremendous leader in place..." HAVE.

Connect the dots folks. Its not as nuts as you think.

    I concur...

Throw in M. Roses mom's tweets about Tressel being the next HC...etc...too much smoke to not mean something...Tressel has a role in all of this.

This is the first I have heard of this tweet. hmmmmm

Peeps... it wasn't a tweet. It wasn't Instagram. M. Roses' mom posted on her Facebook timeline, not too long after the firing of Pelini. She mentioned not being happy about Pelini being fired, the way the players were informed, and then she suggested that Tressel was being hired. I'm in the midst of confirming if the post is still on her timeline.

    twitter. facebook. instagram. chive.com. pornhub.

    it's all the same.

I didn't seem to find any news relating to football on pornhub. Still searching, though.

Looking in the wrong places my man!

Why do people automatically assume that Frost would keep the same offense if he came here?

This is what I'm wondering. It's not "his" offense, it's Oregon's. We don't know for sure what exactly a "Frost Offense" really is.

Ive actually been going to work trying to restudy what we used to do at Nebraska. . . . [W]hat we ran at Nebraska in a lot of ways is very similar to what Oregon runs right now were just out of the shotgun versus under center. But a lot of the concepts of the option game are the same. . . . I would love to see somebody go back to doing what Nebraska used to do. Maybe the Huskers are going to do that this year. Personally, Id love to someday mix a lot of the concepts that Oregon runs with some of the aspects Nebraska used to run. . . . The one thing I wish we could do at Oregon is be a little more physical. I dont think thats a secret. I think everybody on our staff wishes we could be a little more physical on offense. Thats what Nebraskas calling card was. If we could play fast and physical, I dont think theres anybody in the country who could stop us.

Good catch Q, I obviously dont pay ebough attention to Frost/Oregon.
