Rhule would be more of a garbage hire than Fickell would be.

Honestly it was impressive that Rhule backed up his first 10 win season at Temple with another one. He didn’t leave there as soon as he had any success.
He also would have been a fool to turn down what Carolina offered him to leave Baylor.
Mark my words, if it is Rhule, he’ll quickly be considered a worse hire than Callahan. If Rhule gets the job, I’ll be done with Huskers football. -

Ill double down on lane, Said last night he would not leave Ole Miss for Auburn, but he didnt say anyone else.
That would be great (as he’s #2 on my list)! -
It's Shaw (Stanford HC). His name has been in the back of my mind for a week, shared this thought here yesterday, slept on it, and now I'm 90% sure it's him. The union would simply be a great fit for several reasons. He's a great coach, CEO, motivator, tactician, recruiter, human being, and the timing would be perfect for him.
Welcome to Nebraska, Coach Shaw!

You have Campbell, Franklin, and Bielema who have just signed and resigned contracts, plus there in our backyard. And campbell, where in out of left field did that come from.
That was my original list from when SF was fired. It's never been updated.

He's #10 on my list, but my gut feeling is telling me it's Shaw. He is a damn fine coach, and has to be looking to start over somewhere by now.

Whomever it is will be a high character guy reflecting Trev's values and represent the program well. Rhule, Fickell, Klieman.
Klieman would be a great hire. The other two...nah.

Our next HC will come from that list. If I'm wrong, I'll never post here again.

Rhule loves stuff like the Blackshirts. If it's him, be prepared for some fun rollouts

Gimmicky, tchotchke-like traditions only work when you're winning. Once the losses start piling up, they just look stupid - and yes, they tend to distract from what's actually important.

I think we will be paying him near the 9 mil range that’s where the FMV comes in with the panthers
No offense, and not to be argumentative, but there is no way in Hades we're paying Rhule $9 million - laughably high for him.

I am not arguing with you bc Fickell is my guy, but not your top 5??? Rhule is pretty much universally consider a teir 1 option. How many other teir 1 guys do you have ranked ahead of him?
1. Meyer
2. Kiffin
3. Aranda
4. Klieman
5. Campbell
6. Gundy
7. Clawson
8. Bielema
9. Franklin
10. Shaw

Over on the platinum board insiders are saying Rhule is a done deal. They are saying the final contract was reviewed last night by the Panthers and no hiccups there so expect a announcement this weekend probably Sunday or Monday
I guess we'll know soon. He wouldn't make my Top 5 list. If it's Rhule, I'd bet we paid $6 million or less annually for him.

Nebraska is done at this point. Nothing left to play for, including pride. Exceptionally poor line play, injuries and lack of depth, will make Nebraska look like... well Nebraska. Hawkeye's win this one easily. 21-6.
BS - pride is always worth fighting for, especially for a P5 college football program.

Did laughing Pelini give it away? A little to on the nose?
I LOVED Pelini as HC. Firing him was an action of pure ignorance and arrogance.

if rhule is not the coach, then every single local reporter has proven they have absolutely no inside sources.
I don't think Rhule has been on the list for at least 3-4 weeks now (if ever).

"Black Shirts" have become a weird distraction for several years now, and it's high time they just go away - it's not 1995 anymore.
Black Shirts separate the team in an unproductive way; fielding an amazing lights out defense should simply be our standard, and not something to make a big deal out of.
Look at Iowa's defense the last several years - one of the best statistically speaking over the last decade, and they just go out and get their business done with zero hype. That's actually a good model for how our D should operate going forward.

Very similar hire, except Rhule is about as smart as a post.
