It's a double 'Those No Longer With Us' post... 'Svoboda then moved the Cowboys quickly down the field — with the help of an unnecessary roughness penalty on Ronald Delancy III...'

Turner Gill would've been drafted had he not chosen baseball. I assume Bruce Matheson was drafted (he had a couple of cups of coffee in the league).

You're right on Mathison, 10th round pick. And really it's coaching style that's the measure here- of course we didn't put a lot of option QBs in the NFL...! Tanner Lee was our last QB drafted. And Rhule coached PJ Walker, a 4 year starter at Temple. He's still in the league- my Bears cut him and then he beat the 49ers. I understand the argument- not a lot of great recent history here- but it's a new regime. Raiola knows this.

He has a scholarship offer contingent on him on grades.  I know he does not have many offers, but he can lose any federal help if he takes an NIL offer as this income.

That may be true but it's more of the point of... how many scholarship guys did we have last year? As in NIL guys & real schollies? And the Ruggeroli addition... it's an interesting time for college sports.

  4. Hutmacher - Jimari Butler - Ty Robinson - Lenhardt - Umanmielen - Van Poppel - Tommi Hill - Javin Wright - Gbayor - Hartzog - Singleton - Buford - Sherman - Lynum - Borders - Gifford (if he chooses to) - Bullock (same) - and more. We had a damn good D, and a lot of the guys will return.

  5. Saw The Almanac has NU 12th in conference, Lindy's 13th. Not sure we'll finish much higher but a couple of teams that may be over-rated: Ohio State and Michigan. Not sure why- with OSU especially- it's believed they'll turn it around so easily after last year's 5-15 conference finish.

  6. Roster updated, and it looks like the 2 guys Mavric mentioned above may be Seth Malcom and Chase Androff... (ah, I see this is stated elsewhere, too.)

There are two guys still listed on the roster that are no longer with the team.  But Rhule apparently lets guys make their own announcements before the team does anything official.  My read is they are not key contributors but it wasn't really said who.

Also, there are about five guys who would be expected to be scholarship guys who are technically walk-ons now and getting NIL deals to make up the difference.  Trent Hixson and Brody Belt did that last year.  There were some speculations awhile ago but we probably won't find out who any time soon.
