  1. On January 30th of this year we hit a high with 1,833,598 hits. I think that is the highest we've seen. That surprised me a bit - as busy as the board was on signing day, I would have assumed it would have been in February. Any idea of the record for the number of people on the board at once?
  2. friend of mine who works at SMU just got a call from his boss... his boss got an email stating that changes were being made at Nebraska. He tells me his boss has ties to Wagner.
  3. I saw Huskers Illustrated hit a record for the number of people on their board at one time... anyone know what the record for this one is?
  4. Well since nothing will be official until atleast tomorrow I am off for the night... doesn't tomorrow have a Christamas morning feel too it... hopefully it's an awesome G.I. Joe and not some crappy lump of coal.
  5. I agree that no one will "heal" this team. But at the same time I think some of the problem is there is no respect and unity.... and stuff like that come from coaches and administration. Look at Zach Bowman, a captain, removes his Blackshirt and no one follows. It's because there is no sense of of respect or authority. A team, especially a defense, has to work as a unit... and our defense does not function like a unit at all right now.
  6. Have also heard from a player that they have gotten word of this and many (not sure how many that means) are welcome to the change.
  7. Many of the big money people behind this program have been pissed for more then just 7 games, many have been pissed for the last four years. Do you realize that we have only lost to Mizzou I believe 3 times in the last 30 years and 2 of them have been to Callahan teams, and yesterday's game was the worst home loss in I believe 50 years. So this isn't just about the last seven games.
  8. I am hopeful as well... obviously it isn't official so it all could fall through and nothing may happen until the end of the year. But from what it sounds atleast the ball is rolling in the right direction. It'll be interesting to see what is on the news tonight... I would think Sports Soundoff may have some information as well
  9. I see what you are saying... but it's not like this was just me and my roommate specualting, I really did get this information from people who are close to the situation. I wasn't going to put it up because I figured I'd get a response like this... but I thought some people would like the heads up.
  10. And why is that? Money talks man... and if there are boosters willing to put up the money to get the job done, then that is what it takes. Also they same boosters can be saying "If you don't do this... our money is gone for good"
  11. One person did give mention that T.O.'s name was brought up in the supposed meeting, but he said he believed it would be a long shot.
  12. From talking to a few people close to the program and close to big boosters, here is what I've heard... After the game there was a meeting with many of the big time boosters, including I believe the Touchdown Club (not 100% sure on that one, the last guy I was taking to was at an event in Dallas and it was hard to hear him) and University officials. Word is that there will be contracts bought out tomorrow or very soon after. I did not get specifics on who, but Peterson's name came up in every conversation. Also no name was given for who would replace him. No names at all were give on who would fill the shoes of anyone, just that there will be buyouts soon.
  13. Agreed... I think Turner Gill is not the right choice, yes he is doing a good job at Buffalo, but come on that is totally different football. The only reason anyone wants him is because he used to be here. If people are going to use that reasoning, Craig Bohl should be on everyone's list as well.
  14. Whatever they do I think they need to go after a "college" coach. Not someone who has been in the NFL for quite some time. We need a coach who is used to the college level, and is familiar with dealing with college athletes, not NFL athletes.
  15. I think if it got things turned around, people would have no problem coughing out a few extra bucks. Winning cures everything
  16. I think we should have seen this all coming when the Zack Bowman, a fricken Captain!, removes his Blackshirt and not one other guy follows him. Not only do other supposed leaders not follow, but the coaches show no support in backing him either in taking the rest of them away... a sign of a "great" team.
  17. With many people wanting a new staff... who do people think will really be available? I know with the right money, just about anyone is... but if people remember four years ago, coaches weren't dying to come here. If not a big name guy, who is that up and coming coach (Ron Price, Dan Hawkins, Urban Meyer)? Brian Kelly - University of Cincinnati Jim Leavitt - South Florida Maybe after a year with the soap opera known as the Atlanta Falcons Petrino will be looking to get back to the college game
  18. Because of the time of the game Saturday I will not be able to attend Oklahoma State game. I payed $154 for the pair, so that is all I want back for them. I have tickets to other games in the same seats and they are great seats.... right above the new tunnel. Paypal would be the best way to get paid, but a meeting may be possible. You can respond here, or email me at foote_21@hotmail.com
  19. No real changes that I can tell. Still no starter picked at LG... and it's interesting that Castille is still listed at #2 RB. I've always wondered, why release a depth chart on a Tuesday. Why not give a full week of practice and release on a Thursday or Friday?
  20. The end was changed a bit... they had the some video included of prior teams with the common phrases, "Tradition", "Excellence", "Resergence".
  21. If it doesn't work it doesn't work... but you know what atleast they got there shot. It seems like a lot of guys aren't even getting a shot at showing what they can do on the field.
  22. That's funny... did Cory McKeon then come through and wiff too, or was he too busy trying to sign something yards away from you that didn't need to be signed? He was going to, but he tripped over Bowman who had fallen down as he went to sign something next to me. Luckily Zack Potter ran both of them down and took the pen. Were they about 40 yards down field when Potter finally caught up?
  23. I agree the defense has struggled. I think the offense is definately coming along and we are going to put up big time offensive numbers this year. But we can't fire a coach mid-season. I have no problem looking for a different d-coordinator in the off-season. But the way people are talking is just annoying. If you would look at it "rationally" you would see firing a coach mid-season is as dumb as you can get, and if you get rid of Callahan now, we are right back where we were 3 years ago....Missing bowl games!! Remember we are now on Callahan's guys, but they are only his first recruiting class, that he had to throw together at the last minute, because we were irrational and fired a coach before we had another lined up!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Give Cally a break. I don't think that many people are asking for Callahan's head... it's Cosgroves, remember he is the defensive coordinator.
  24. Unfortunately USC offense makes alot of teams defenses look like highschool defenses...just ask Arkansas. It is not a surprise that our defense is the weak link...that was known preseason, Cosgrove is not going anywhere.....PERIOD. Him and Cally go way back and Cally just got his extension....there is no pressure on him to let Cosgrove go........ Don't bet on that... how long had Frank been with a lot of the assists he had to let go? Trust me if things continue the way they are Steve will put plenty of pressure on Callahan to let him go.
