He could be a priority now with McWilson's decommit. Has the speed and athleticism to play almost anywhere.
-
With the McWilson decommit, do we still let him start out at WR? We already have good depth there and need help at safety. And IMO he would make a great safety.
The important thing is getting him here. Most kids will see an opportunity for early playing time at a different position and jump at it.

By the way, Marrow is a snake. We should drop his son.
I hate to say it, but I agree with you. Let Kentucky pick up the bill for his education. Yes, I'm bitter! I hate losing players to the crooked a$$ SEC, its not a fair fight.
-
You have to wonder if anything shady took place... Wonder if Kentucky waved some type of illegal benefits his way.
The easy answer is yes.
-
Decommitted per Sean Callahan also
The $EC strikes again. Lets just be glad there are scholarship limitations, considering the amount of money they throw at players and their families nobody outside of the $EC would even be able to field a team.
-
Quit freaking out peeps. Some our you are quick on three draw.
I agree, he might be having last minute doubts, but in the end he stays a Husker!

@MMcWilson4: Kentucky game tonight!
This is probably the best recruiting tool they have, gives the illusion they have fans that care about football, I was hoping they were on the road this weekend
They'll probably have him meet Calipari too, he's a real grease ball, he could sell ice to an eskimo. I don't like it.

Don't think stanton or newby are considered gems. Malik Collins, Gregory, and Adam taylor are
Stanton's injury hurt his ranking with the recruiting services, but make no mistake he is a gem and we're damn lucky to get him.
-
Moved up to the #2 spot in the ESPN JUCO rankings
He is the gem of this class IMO.
Stanton, Newby, McWilson, and Gregory..... Probably throw Taylor in there as well.... This class is shaping up very nicely, the best of the Pelini era....
If we can hang on to everyone already committed, mainly McWilson and Walker, I'd have to agree with you.
-
Nobody can run the option like Frazier did... not even Turner! Tommy was running the option when he was 7 years old... so he knows an option QB when he see's one and a QB who isn't meant for the option when he sees one.
Couldn't agree more! He was as good as it gets, he always made the right decision and rarely made a mistake or took a loss on the play. Jamelle Holieway would probably be the next closest option qb to him.
-
If we were hurting for depth at WR then I would say go for him, but considering we are loaded there we don't need him. And now we especially don't want him after his comments about us.
I still think he might jump at an offer from us. He was just a little butt-hurt about not receiving a scholarship offer.
Would be ironic if Walker bolts then we offer Badet and he commits.
-
Who else is on the list for CB? We already got Boaz. Perhaps Treshon Broughton, Adrian Baker, or maybe JUCO Damarious Randall? I would say Mackensie Alexander, but that's unlikely.
My guess is we just look at athletes at this point not necessarily CB's, Drake Martinez comes to mind.

You know nothing of me HuskerT. Thanks for playing though
Just messing with you Hedley, its a slow day.
-
He could be a steal, great get by the staff.

Your updates are comedic gold.
I was told at one point he committed. Now same person told me not so fast. Just passing along what I hear guys. I'm not the only one stating certain things.
I appreciate people passing on rumors. Yours just seem to have a propensity lately for following along with what is already posted in a given thread. You suddenly hearing that Arkansas was in it, after it was already posted by someone else (and after you just posted that he was already ours), is hilarious.
And when multiple people are hearing the same thing from different people what does that usually mean?
That they could just as easily be copying the rumors that have already been posted directly above and pretending they have a great source? Even if you do have some super secret mole inside the athletic department, what's the point of parroting information that's already public and acting like it's breaking news?
I've been told that Hedley has no inside source.

With the exception of Vanderbilt, I've never heard a recruit say he chose an $EC school for its academics

Insert your Meyer is a d bag comment here:

"Looks like Josh Banderas took an unexpected trip to Columbus to meet with Meyer, hope nothing happens with him..."

all it says.

Social media has created monsters out of these guys. Considering they're 16-18 yrs old and the forums they have today, this is only gona get worse!

Say what you want about this kid and I've said plenty during this little ride he's on. These are the type of kids we need to land every now and then. Personalities like his attract similar personalities. And when you're talking about the WR or CB positions, this is what you get sometimes. Not everyone is molded like Rex or Jordan or KB. Sometimes you get a Deion Danders or a Warren Sapp. Point is, I've coached for 13 years and kids gravitate towards kids with the big personalities. And if these kids have the right mindset and work hard an prove themselves on the field, they can become great leaders. And people who pull in talented personalities similar to theirs. Just sayin.
I agree, I'm willing to ride the roller coaster till we know for sure.
-
I may be wrong but isn't he announcing today?
I think the coaches are in home today, so I wouldn't be surprised
He's a lock to commit tonight if he hasn't silently committed already.

@joshharveyscout: #Nebraska #Huskers QB Johnny Stanton - was the No. 30 QB...NOW THE NO. 27 QB @husker_johnny4 Also moved into the Top 300.
That's not bad despite missing most of his senior season.
-
It's more
Something doesn't smell right about this kids recruitment. I think his Coach may have ALOT of sway on which team he goes to, which is unfortunate.
Connecting the dots, I think you are definately on to something here Speed. With a few new developments, I think this one ends up a Gator.
Its more than coincidence that the $EC teams always seem to get what they want.
-
If we do lose him I don't mind losing him to Kentucky, he will be irrelevent there and won't come back to haunt us.
You don't know he'll be irrelevant there but you are correct in saying it is unlikely to affect us.
Why, does he plan on playing basketball while at Kentucky?

I'm not the least bit confident when we're up against an $EC team in recruiting, especially this late in the game. They're crooked as hell and when its late and they're desperate for a player they will stop at nothing to get their guy. Hopefully Johnson can't be bought.
