  1. Has Lee audibled out of the initial play once this season? I can't recall it at all unless it's super subtle....

Just seems functional offenses with competent QBs quite regularly (and obviously) change the play up if they read something on the defense. It seems to me Lee isn't capable of reading the D to know what to check to.

Has this been the case or am I just missing it? And if so, how big of a problem is it to have a QB that always runs the initial play called?

  2. 2 minutes ago, Red Five said:

If it gets cancelled, it gets cancelled.  Games get cancelled every year for one reason or another.  Look at the LSU/Florida debacle last year.

Umm yep, they do. Still doesn't take away from the fact it would suck and affect a lot of people, not to mention university and tv revenu. CFB season is short as it is, taking away a game would be no fun for all involved.

  3. I just don't see any way this game is played this weekend if they can't play it in Oregon.

Relocating is an option, but then you're forcing season ticket holders to make last minute travel arrangements to see their team play at some place hours away since there's nowhere close by to play it as a failsafe. Would they relocate  and also refund them for that game?

The more I think about it, if the air doesn't improve, I'm just thinking no game.

  4. While I agree that the secondary has been solid - does it bother anyone else how far off the WR they play pre-snap? If they're truly lockdown corners like they say they are, I don't see why they aren't playing bump and run with the WRs at the line. We played stout against Indiana, but those 8 to 10 yard passes were way too easy for Lagow to complete.

  5. I don't think he's snubbing Rex. It's just unreasonable to think that Burkhead will maintain his production from this year, AND replace Roy's production. Rex needs a wingman, and we have no idea who that will be, with Robinson transferring. Could be Aaron Green or Braylon Heard, but I'm not sure either of those guys are as durable as Rex Burkhead was when he was a true freshman.

I think this is an even bigger deal if we're going to have a shot at keeping Martinez healthy all year. We shouldn't be relying on him for 100 yards rushing every game like we were early this year when our offense was cookin'. We should expect one or two big runs from him each game, and other than that the majority of our production should come from our running backs, like what you saw from Oregon and Auburn last night.

Not sure I would call Rex "durable" during his freshman year, he was out for more than half the season with a foot injury.

  6. I'm surprised Niles is being touted as a third-round selection. He's got a highlight reel a mile long, but he's got an equally long lowlight reel. Sure, it's hard to say how he'll translate to the NFL, but there are just SO MANY wideouts out there... I can't see him going that high.

Please tell me what would make up this "mile long highlight reel?" His couple of run backs on punt and kick off returns?

  7. Soooooo.......

these guys sell the things they earned for small cash, they get suspensions. Meanwhile in SEC land Cam Newton gets the Heisman. Nothing to see here, move along...

ya this seems totally backwards to me, NCAA maybe needs to be a little more consistent in who they suspend and who they don't. doesn't make sense at all

Consistency is just a state of mind.
