I am certainly a connected, concerned, emotionally attached fan of NU, but I am not blinded by the scarlet colored glasses. I will call a spade a spade.
-
Conversely, how about NU's db's?
-
USC 38
NU 20
Rushing 49 yards
Passing 267 yards
-
"very good, intelligent KSU fans"
Can anyone say oxymoron?????
-
Thats funny
-
I'll tell you what Former...erm...aweshucks...when NU wins go slip an elastic "trojan" over your head and go march in front of Memorial Stadium humming the USC fight song during the Troy Trojans game the following week.
Huh?
-
Not really. Their schedule is weak this year, and they would rebound with Troy, then ISU and their horrible D, and then KSUcks. This team, with their talent and schedule won't return to those days.
As I said, look at the big picture. What is the staff going to tell recruits?? "Sorry that USC beat us by 35, but we're getting closer."
Recruits seeing NU take USC into the 4th qtr would be alot more impressive and give NU national respect and exposure, as opposed to watching them get beat like they did in the 2002 Rose Bowl.
-
Yeah, but you said it would destroy the program. That's not going to happen.
It could set the program back to the dark ages (2002-2004).
-
The necessity is for NU to make a good showing, and not get blown out. If NU keeps it close, it will be good, if not, it could destroy the program.
I would expect this type of comment from you. So what, if Nebraska loses on Saturday then we might as well all switch over to be USC fans because the program is now "destroyed?" That is crazy talk if you ask me. :hmmm
When did I ever say that :asshat
If NU shows that it can compete with the big boys on a national stage, it will put NU back into the elite football programs.
If they go to USC and have a poor showing, it will likely set them back when it comes to national image and recruiting.
What is so hard to understand about that

The enitire team seemed to lose something about halfway through the 3rd, but that happens when you are overwhelming a subpar opponent.
-
Not was it was bad enough that he assualted a minor, but he cheap-shotted the kid with a hit from behind.
What an f-ing p@!$$y!!!!
-
Nope, both Dailey and Beck aren't impressive thus far.
Beck can't play, FYI.
-
Is there even a question?
ummm...yes!
:hmmm

Swain sucked, too, but I'd prefer him over Rose any day of the week.
All I remember from Fiala was during the "Miracle in Mizzouri," he sounded like a pig rooting for food, and Swain was pretty much clueless.

Everyone recruits some guys that don't plan out... oh I forgot that Bill got these guys...
Lucky, Glenn, Murtha, Taylor, Dillard, Octavien, Bowman.... just ot name a few
Frank is gone... when are people gonna get over it
I couldn't agree more
Oh and he got Sam Keller who Oklahoma did everything in their power to get...That was more of a stroke of luck, than a stroke of genius. If anything, it was due to poor recruiting by this staff.

I know at least potter and eisenhart were in.....they are not first team
Jime Rose said that "The first team D-line is in the game" Moore, Cryer, Ola....
-
LMAO riiiiiiiiiiiiiiight............
Hmmm?
-
I don't think that going 40 yards in 11 plays against a 1AA team is going to strike much fear in their hearts.
Will you even be happy if the Huskers go into USC and win??
Absolutely
Is there even a question?
-
That was against the 1st team defense, folks
-
LMAO again you're so cute!
-
So when someone posts how they feel...We resort to calling people ass hat's now? Nice.......... and you were saying about giving NU fans a bad name?
When someone makes a blantantly, uneducated moronic statement like that, they had better accept the response.
If we can't use the :asshat , then the mods had better remove it from use
Moronic in who's eyes? Yours? Your posts kind of remind of some one that used to come in here before he got the boot, but I am sure you know who that is/was. Don't ya?
Who was that??
-
Im trying to understand how this is funny?Ole Frankie could sure pick em couldn't he?
Yep, Carriker, Moore, Bradley, Austin, Ross, McKeon, Ruud, Herian, Swift, Nunn, all horrible picks
I guess he could have had picks like Beck, L. Jackson, R Piccou, D Moore, J Adams, T Spain.....
Oh formerfan, ooops I mean Aweshucks.....your so cute when you're trying to prove people wrong!
Blackshirtsguru = :asshat

I think that too much is made out of that statement. If its not working, then maybe its time to try kicking the ball into the endzone. From the game I watched (L Tech) by using this "strategy" Tech routinely got the ball between the 25-35 yard line, much like Michigan did last year, so the covergae teams aren't that great either. So if they aren't stopping them inside the 20, and aren't causing any turnovers, how is this "strategy" working?? On top of that, by attempting to cover every kick, they are putting their players at risk of injury, something that could devastate an already depleted secondary.
You can continue to buy this "philosophy" of giving the opponent the ball at the 30 consistently if you want, but the simple fact is that Congdon does not have the leg strength to get the ball into the endzone unless he has a 30 mph wind at his back.
I personally would rather see the opposing team start around the 20 all most of the game, as opposed to usually giving them the ball at the 30, while stopping them at the 17 once a game, that is, IF your kicker can get the ball there.
Call me weird
