  1. I think the 11AM kickoff is great for NU! Remember the last 2 times we were the ABC National game at 11AM? CU in '94 (actually was a 10:30AM kick) and OU in '01 were both early starts and BIG Husker wins. Sure it doesn't lend itself to getting "well oiled" for the game (Bloody Mary's and Mimosa's for breakfast anyone? ) But it sure captures the GameDay excitement! Get up, get to the game, and Yell your ass off - no waiting around all day for kickoff. Anyway, just wanted to remind everyone that the early kick is probably good for us. Also keep in mind that the OU vs Texas games were 11AM kickoffs back in '00 - '04 when OU was owning the 'Horns. Maybe we are catching things just right here!
  2. No night game for ABC that weekend. The 11AM timeslot is the National game. Regional games will be at 2:30PM. So this is ABC's featured game on 10/21!
  3. Down here in Kansas City I still give the KSUcks fans grief about that play. It was 4th & 10 from our 48 yard line, 2 minutes and change left in the game. We were only down 4 at that point. If the zebra gets the flag out of his pocket, we have a first & ten on their 37 yard line! I don't count that game as a loss - it is still incomplete in my book - HA! 8 years later and I am still waiting for Crouch to pull off the miracle comeback.
  4. The Big Apple is a HUGE complex. It has a bowling alley, miniature golf course, sand volleyball courts, game room, and a very nice Sports Bar with plenty of seating and over 20 pool tables. Pretty cool place!
  5. I was at the game and was AMAZED at how many NU fans there were in the parking lots and around the stadium before the game. I was pumped that we might have upwards of 40,000 in there! It seemed like every 3rd person was wearing RED............... But once we got into the stadium, it was tough to tell. The end zone corners (East side) were both all RED, but those were the only concentrated areas. We were spread out over the rest of the stadium. LOTS of RED, but mixed in with their Cardinal (or whatever they call that burgandy color). I would say we had 20,000 + (maybe 25K). Tons of SC fans were talking about how many fans we got in there. They were all surprised.
  6. I went to school in Kearney, and the best Sports Bar in town was The Big Apple. Get there early, and it is a great place to watch a game.
  7. Very well thought out post. What board did you find that at? I would love to read more posts by the author. He really seems to have it nailed. I was also at the game, and just fnished watching my DVR copy after returning home from LA. It looked better on TV then it did in person............ The talent gap was wider than I was hoping to see. BUT, it has only been a couple of years for BC. We are improving!
