  1. With Huskernation being as divided as it is right now, not making a decision is probably best. You're sort of only adding fuel to the fire.

It seems that he's willing to wait it out to see if Pelini either figures it out or hangs himself. In either case, the decision would be simple and most likely have a lot of support.

Don't make a bad situation worse by making a rash decision. I don't know that changing things right this minute would really matter too much in the long run.

  2. I have no idea what complicated web of sales keeps the sellout streak alive today. Is there actually a third party that would know if games weren't sold out? I mean, the U could continue to say they're sold out of tickets. They're our only source of information, from what I understand. Not saying they'd be deceitful, but I am saying that it's hard to know if they're sold out. really.

If actual attendance starts to drop to some level where it matters, they'll do something. You have to hit them where it hurts if you want to have an impact.

From what I understand, and this is from talks with a family member who worked for the athletic department as a summer intern and the dreaded alumni outreach cold call job haha, the administration pretty much knows by June which games are sold out and which ones still have a few left.

Makes sense! Thanks for the info.

  3. I can't understand why it seems we have to start over on defense most years. Suck at the beginning, start playing better towards the end. I understand people come into and leave the program but a good staff and program should be able to keep play at a more or less consistent level year to year.

  4. I'm waiting for the stuff to hit the fan in a few years at OSU, where Urban will have "health problems" again and take a job that in some ways in equally as demanding. Then he'll inexplicably come back again. Stuff just doesn't add up with him sometimes.

  6. I thought Valentine really showed up well today. That guy's just big and seems like in the coming years he'll be able to push guys around easily.

Randy Gregory ofcourse too shows a lot of potential on the line. He seems sometimes like a linebacker on theline with his speed and agility. If he gets a bit more size while keeping his speed he could be pretty good too.

My question is do you guys think Gregory or Valentine will be a bigger presence next year and then down the line?

They certainly should be. Seems like a light went on for Valentine over the last few games.

  7. People are way too soft today. I don't condone what he did on the sideline because that looked like it almost hit the ref, but I have no problem with what he said at halftime.

Every f'ing coach in America has moments like that at halftime. Pelini isn't alone in that category.

Everyone has to deal with dumb questions and dumb people. Doesn't mean you have to act like he does. Be an adult and in control of yourself. Something that he often does not excel at.

  8. Eichorst is shrewd like a fox.

Pelini clearly is struggling and was basically begging to be fired so he can collect his $7 million. With this, Eichorst is calling Bo's bluff and putting him right back in the fire. You can't stand the heat, Bo? Quit. Because Eichorst ain't gonna bail you out that easily.

Eichorst may well be counting on Bo doing something so insane that he can legitimately be fired for cause. The odds are pretty good.

This is probably the most interesting speculation I've read so far. Makes some sense when you think about the situation where both parties, we'll at least one party, is digging in their heels so to speak.

  9. Man, all these negative nancy's sure do come out of the woodworks. It's hilarious

    This.

its what i love about husker football. Young defense is about mistakes and nu wasn't short of them today. Most of these guys went to prom 6 months ago..

    god bless the internet

  10. Black uniforms for a day game in a month where noon temps routinely hit the mid to upper 80s. Not sure I like that idea.

But....But.... BLACK! MATTE! Alternate! Uh....uh.... Recruits like it! Yeah that's it! It'll be sweeeeeet! Words!

They actually do. I was talking to a 4-star LB down in KC a couple weeks ago and I specifically asked him about this alternate uniform stuff. He said he, personally, couldn't care less, but he knows a ton of guys being recruited right now who really care. It helps them make a decision on a school.

    Weird.

That blows my mind. They're not looking at the big picture if a uniform for one game is a linchpin in their decision

  11. Like I said. I really dont wanna miss the kickoff to Notre Dame/Purdue.

And the most contradicting part to this is they could've put this game at 2:30 at the least, but chose 11 am so it could be national coverage. It's just a kick in the nuts to us and our recruiting plain and simple. A complete disrespect to what will likely be the biggest game of the year for us.

What has NU done to deserve any respect lately? Lose championship games?

Notre Dame @ Purdue? or Nebraska/UCLA which could very well be a critical top 15 matchup for both teams? Not disagreeing with your perspective for it is spot on. But in this case, becoming second fiddle to ND/Purdue (no, not Michigan, not Michigan St, not even Boston College or Oklahoma-frickin Purdue) is absolute hilarity.

I agree it does suck, but it is what it is.

    FIFY

Like I said, Notre Dame is it's own deal man. You can fight it all you want but Notre Dame is going to get shoved down your throat every week. That's just the way it is. Nebraska has to win to get that kind of coverage as where it's typically handed to Notre Dame. Period, end of story.

  14. WHY DOES THE UCLA GAME HAVE TO AT 11 AM???

Because NU UCLA isn't terribly interesting to most of the country. Win a championship and that will change.

Didn't you know, ADS, Notre Dame and Purdue have been racking up championships lately?!?

Notre Dame is it's own deal, man. They'll always get a ton of prime time. Just because they're the golden domers.

  15. WHY DOES THE UCLA GAME HAVE TO AT 11 AM???

I understand that, but I just wanted to voice my frustration.

    No doubt it does suck!

  16. Still think every football stadium in America should be natural grass

Not I. Look how crappy some NFL fields are at the end of the year. I'd rather have turf that performs the same in January that it did in August. No spray paint required.
