  1. I wanna know why people are clamoring for the diamond formation so much when Beck has shown a tendency to run the flexbone or double wing formation. I'd rather see more of that quite honestly, or Ski-gun type plays from the pistol spread. But this might get into the discussion of under center option versus the read option as well, one being under center and the other being pistol. Martinez looks more comfortable doing the read option stuff, that's for sure.

  2. From a blog post I wrote a few years ago

For the most part, I like popular music. I like Nickelback, Hoobastank, and Linkin Park to some extent. Their songs take me back to a time when I was gaining favor socially with most of the friends that I have today. It’s a nostalgia based appeal to me. I compare it to the way that Journey is popular now. On an episode of Family Guy, the gang sang karaoke in a bar, the song being Journey’s “Can’t Stop Believing”. It’s all of a sudden popular now. Why? Nostalgia. Rick Astley. Same thing. I guarantee in like 10 to 15 years we’ll all be saying the sentence, “Boy I remember this song,” to a lame Nickelback ballad.

This was in 2008 though, and I'm starting to hate them with a furious passion.

  3. And you have to have faith in science because it yet can not be explained with the evidence today. You have faith in science that one day this creature will be found. So as you see everyone has faith in something that can't be proven. chuckleshuffle

    Quote:

Scientists today don't use the term 'Missing Link." The closest they'll come is when referring to a common ancestor that gave rise to both humans and apes, a yet-to-be-found species believed to have lived around seven million years ago.

No, I'm sorry. It's not faith in something that can't be proven...it's about accepting something based on available evidence. Faith is about not having any evidence. I do not have faith in anything. Give me an example of something I have faith in and I'll stop believing it.

Scientists create a hypothesis and say, "if evolution were true, this is the kind of evidence we'd see." Then they look for that evidence. And they have found it with regards to evolution.

It's kind of like a murder scene. When the police enter the crime scene they can tell a murder happened. They can piece together each part of the puzzle, infer what happened in the room, where people were standing, what kind of weapon was used...even obtain DNA or fingerprint evidence that links everything to a murder.

But just because they can't find the weapon...or even the murder himself....doesn't mean that it wasn't a murder.

Just because we can't find whatever specific transitional sequence your looking for after millions of years, does not mean evolution is not true. Science can infer many details about evolution without having to find the smoking gun. Every transitional fossil found, is your missing link. Creationists are just, for some reason, wanting to find some half man-half ape creature which does not exist.

  4. If you believe that as proof, does it prove that he was the son of god that could perform miracles, walk on water, rise from the dead?

Even the proof of supernatural ability doesn't necessarily prove the existence of god.

I don't think Jesus Christ was fake - I believe the person actually existed. As for him being the son of God, a being with supernatural powers, etc., I draw the line.

Believe what you want to believe. We will all find out sooner or later.

Why be involved in this discussion if you act like that?

"Oh, it'll all come to pass..." Many generations have lived, died, and killed others over this...we are waiting with baited breath.

  5. I believe there is a verse in the bible that states God knows someone even before they are in the womb so Jesus would be against abortion since you would already be someone to him. There are also versus that state the unborn or children too young to know God will go to heaven if they die. So in summary, abortion is by far the best chance a liberal will ever have of making it to heaven. :D

Instead of saying "I believe there is a verse...", find the verse and post it. Bible gateway is just a couple clicks away.

I'm gonna throw a hypothetical. If a woman asks God for an abortion and she miscarries, did he grant her prayer?

You are right, sorry, I got lazy. http://bible.cc/jeremiah/1-5.htm First verse. Here is a blog post talking about the second topic with verses. http://sharingjesus....dren-go-to.html

To answer your hypothetical, a simple no will do, unless you are guilty of trying to translate the meanings in the bible to fit your own wants much like those who actually believe in the bible tend to do as well. Actually that pretty much sums up how this thread got started in the first place. :)

How can you say no, God did not grant it, to a positive outcome for a requested prayer? If you asked God to heal you of cancer, and you were, you'd say he healed you.

Unless you're saying that the machinations of God's will are already in place and prayer is just talking at the wall, expecting someone to listen.

  7. The NY Times are aimed at New Yorkers. Majority of New Yorkers like to think them selves smarter, better educated, more worldly, and that because they live in NYC, everything they think or do matters..

Which couldn't be further from the truth...

And with such a culturally diverse area, why does race matter so much to them? /sarcasm

  8. I love this guy so friggin much. If he can manage his way into just ONE debate with the other candidates, I'll die happy.

    http://www.huffingto..._n_1216082.html

If he got into one debate, that'd be fantastic. But, what needs to happen is he needs to get to the convention, being neck and neck with the other guy. I honestly believe if he did that, it would expose elections nationally. He'd be an activist on the level of Susan B. Anthony, Cesar Chavez, MLK even. If only he weren't a comedian, his campaign would be taken seriously. But without it, he wouldn't have such a platform to speak from.

If he ever got that far, he'd have to drop the act eventually to highlight what it seem's like he's trying to expose.

  9. How bout we get really good at the defense we're running now!!!

A 3-4 isn't much of a stretch from what Nebraska is doing now with a 2 gap. In fact, a 3-4 would cover more gaps than a 4-3 stack, in a 2-gap scheme. It seems like that in my estimation.

    I'm just an idiot though.

I am actually an idiot so you'll have to explain that stuff to me more. How does that work?

I don't see the pass rushing LBs here. Maybe we can get Meredith to come off the edge, but would he be more effective than he is now? I don't see the stout run-stuffers we can put at end, and definitely unsure about the space-eating behemoth at NT. It seems like we are lacking in the LB area, and the DTs are 4-3 DTs, and the DEs are a bit lacking, and neither 3-4 DEs nor 3-4 OLBs.

With the 3-4, and I'm not sure about this, but most teams that run it use two-gap scheming with their front line.

This wiki article helps out with it. But you're right, the personnel isn't really there.

  11. These reporters are just products of today's new media and prompts for "immediacy". These stories are fast, cheap (literally and figuratively), and easy. If the papers spent some time finding new revenue streams and disregarded some of it's immediacy for quality work, then we wouldn't have to deal with this crap anymore.
