Offense: O-line... I have a man crush on Lewis.
Defense: McMullen
Pat on the back: Tim freakin' Beck
-
It's a good look!
Red suite = National Championships

Can Cory Cooper get any bigger? I can't imagine how it feels to be hit by him. Also looks like Daniel Davie has bulked up since we last saw him on the field two years ago. Ameer has some serious guns, Newby looks tiny in comparison to our other backs.
-
Like Warrior10 said he was too sick to fly back to Nebraska. Nothing to worry about.
-
For comparison Ameer benched 365 and squated 580 at the end of spring ball. Imani benches 440. I'm guessing Adam Taylor has some freakish numbers also.

I think we can all agree that all four guys are outstanding players. What I would give to have anothet swift on the team. He was just so clutch. Burtch does have some resemblance to Peterson. Both were big-bodied receivers with excellent hands. I think Reilly has more upside than any of them. He's one of the better athletes on the team and is still young. I think we have an excellent group of receivers this year.
-
I also think parents play a huge disservice. Especially for a school like Nebraska trying to pull kids out of the south. Just look at the DE who flopped from us on signing day last year. He had his mind set on Nebraska but his parents wouldn't let him. When we do get parents on campus though there is usually a high percentage for commitment.
-
Imo a player who decommits is very telling of what type of character they possess. Often times I look at decommits as a service to our coaching staff in exposing a kids true character. Now there are many exceptions. But I think more times than not a kid who recommits ends up being a non contributor.

And RG44 will now be RG4!

Very explosive athlete. I hope we offer him.

Blame the kings of cotton for marijuana being illegal.
And William Randolph Hearst for lumping in hemp with marijuana while creating the whole "Reefer Madness" propaganda.

Glad they were caught. We don't need players like this on our team. They are infectious and wouldn't have played anyway because of their lack of judgement.
-
Talk about college ready. Tanner already has the strength and size to compete at this level. Now he just needs to focus on explosiveness, footwork, agility, balance, flexibility, and speed.

New article from huskers.com detailing all the improvements. That scoreboard will look nice!

If these refs continue with the bullcrap they will have a tough time getting out of Lincoln alive.
-
No because with the way Miles coaches we will have an elite 8 season without sacrificing a winning season in football.
-
Well. Colt McCoy was a complete idiot in that 20 second span, so he probably deserved it. Then Papa Beebe bailed his ass out anyway. Colt was an overrated puss anyway.
-
Well now we have 2 commits from edna karr. Do you think Irons will make it three?
-
Why did he ask to RS then? I'm guessing it might have something to do with the talent ahead of him. Just a thought. Not saying it's impossible for Taylor to improve in the off-season and challenge for the backup spot, but, given the amount of reps Cross has had in his two seasons here, he is significantly ahead of a RB who hasn't played a down for Nebraska.
He asked for a RS so he could work on himself and become the best RB he could be. Had nothing to do with the talent ahead of him. He wanted to work on his lower body strength and conditioning.
He has a total of 140 carries throughout his career. This year, he has 85. 54 of those coming in conference play, giving him an average of less than 5 carries per game. He has more on the field experience, but its not a lot IMO.
He's two years ahead of AT. I'm sorry, but I just don't believe he redshirted simply to get better. That it had nothing to do with the fact that he wouldn't play ahead of Imani or Terrell. I just don't buy it. I'm not saying he's a bad player or will never get better, I'm just saying that Imani has the leg up on the backup spot having been in the program for two seasons and having contributed in both of those seasons.
I think you're missing the point. At running back talent > experience any day of the week. Cross is just too slow to be an every down back. And Ron Brown said himself that if AT didn't ask to redshirt he would have had a significant role on the offense. And trust me unlike Newby, Taylor is physically ready to play in the B1G.

We should be winning. Gotta make baskets when they're there.
-
Wow those refs were atrocious towards the end of the half. That call after marble charged and then traveled and then the Iowa player stepped out of bounds and they call a foul on us?
-
Love listening to the whining.........there's always next year boys......GO JAYS BABY
Sarcasm? If not what the hell? How can you root for Nebraska in football and then root against them in basketball?

OK...over the last few years I have heard over and over again that Bo's defensive scheme works well when we have a dominating D line.
If recruiting holds up, we will end up with a DL of:
Clinkscales - #1 JUCO DT
Keels - #5 JUCO DE
Gregory - Last year's #1 JUCO DE and he lived up to that this year.
Valentine - We saw flashes of really good things this year
Curry - Has good potential
Collins - Has good potential
Maurice - Has good potential.
Williams - has good potential.
On top of that, we have young athletic LBs behind this line.
So....my question becomes, are we starting to get the talent that will bring us back to the 2009-2010 level?
I'd pencil Avery Moss in there someplace.
As well as McMullen. Any word on how Natter's redshirt year went?

Defense
Gangwish doesn't have the size or strength to hold ground.
Banderas is hot and cold. Really missing Rose.
Josh Mitchell and Gerry are studs.
VV and Maliek Collins can create a solid push, but it's useless when linebackers are not filling.
McMullen is the man.
Offense
The o-line was over hyped and struggles run blocking. Pass pro is pretty solid.
Tommy needed to keep more, Mcneese was focused on Ameer.
Passing game could be good but couldn't establish a rythem today.
Tommy was not himself today.
Special Teams
Peirson-El has a bright future.
Kick coverage was outstanding this week.
Foltz had a big part in the win today.
Josh Kalu is fun to watch.
Special teams is 10x better than last year.
