  1. its titled to the incometent. didnt say you were
  2. I agree with everything you said. Bill Callahan and staff may be great, but I'm not seeing it thus far. I think Callahan takes an NFL approach and thinks it's ok to lose one or two games, but that's not how it works in college. Every game counts and instead of playing to minimize a loss, lets play hard, lets play to win every single time! That's what I liked about Bo Pelini. I think he took the talent he had an motivated. Sorry to sort of get off topic with the Pelini comment, but even with the win over Mizzou I'm frustrated. I want our program to be one of the best in the nation again and I'm not seeing it happen. "Winning" the north is setting our sights kind of low in my opinion. Where have we been? Nebraska has not won the north division since 1999. That is seven years without even making the title game. Colorado and Kansas State have both won the division and the ccg since we last won it. IOWA STATE twice had a shot at it, if they could take care of business. Mediocre is where we were. Callahan took it one step at a time and in only three years got us back to within a win of the division title. I hate it when people question the heart of the program. The fans that are displeased with a conference player of the week performance question why the player was played in the first place. The mere fact that we have someone directly behind Ruud on the depth chart that can potentially start, shows how talented he is. It's not mediocre. Missouri losing to the big programs, OU and Nebraska, shows that THEY are mediocre. Iowa State never winning the division when they controlled their destiny, is mediocre. And, we need to realize the south is better than our division. It includes Okie St. now. They have four teams bowl eligible, we have two. We could potentially lose all the games to south teams we play this year. We buried the north teams this year. Improvements we need are: (1) killer instinct on the road, (2) new d coordinator, preferably one who makes in-game adjustments, (3) a johnny-on-the spot safety like mike brown and josh bullocks, and (4) a PLAYmaker. A lot of our guys have that potential, but nobody can take that position. You are exactly right. When are players going to step up? Doesnt anyone want to become an impact player and get recognized nationally? Win sum awards? I think there is potential but when or who is it going to be? We controll our destiny now. We can still make something of this season, as for the big picture i agree that we need ne d-coord. i dont think that we can do any Big things with him here.. his track record exposes that. Is callahan to good of a friend to let him go or will petersen step in and get things done
  3. just 2 people with the same opinions on similar topics
  4. Sorry you are right but hardy is no good either.. in the next few years with the talent that we will bring in like purify you will all be saying hardy who? nunn who? and swift who?
  5. hardy had the dropsies again ok state he cant concentrate on fb when his gf is a playmate of the month
  6. Yeah, but your original term doesn't even make much sense... being excited about ruud winning d player of the week is like being excited about winning the north woopti doo. we should win the north and a LB at nu should be the player of the week every week. we are the f in cornhuskers
  7. flat out sucks or flat out isnt great isnt good enough
  8. all you have to do is watch him.. all i ask is next sat afternoon when we take on aTm you key on him and watch what he doesnt do
  9. Good point. I think that we have those types of players. we just dont have a scheme that works in my opinion frum the d-coordinator standpoint. I think you will see in the upcoming years that we do indeed have the types of players that can make plays. just not this year. So which is it. First you say that we have those types of players (underlined). Then you say that we don't have those players this year. The underlined states that we have the players.. sum of those players are not on the field

  11. Bo has been a solid contributor for a couple of seasons now. Last season he finished third on the season in tackles with 80 and would have had even more but broke his arm and missed the bowl game. So far this season Ruud is sitting at 53 tackles, which is third on the team right behind Green at 54, and Bradley at 57. Next season we should our entire top six linebackers except Bradley. This should be one of the top line backer corps in the Big 12. 85% of which are pile on tackles he got credit for Can you prove this, or is this going to be a Benard arguement where you make a statement. Someone says to prove it. You can't. But still insist that you are right. Watch and learn thats all you have to do. there is no slot in the stats for pilling on at the end of a play and when the stat manager looks at the pile # 51 appears to peel off everytime
  12. Agree to disagree. Most of the people in here will say they are not content at this point and neither are the coaches or players. I can assure you that we have never lost our pride. You must realize that a team can never stay at the top every year. It's a cycle, and it just so happens that we are at beginning of the restoration. What would you propose we do with the team/coaches/anything? I propose new d coordinator and playing younger more talented d backs! who have fire under their belts and want to make plays and CAN make athletic plays
  13. Ruud doesnt fit into that you need a run stopper like octo and mckeon ruud runs away and then piles on to get tackle credits

  15. In the recent years of nebraska... solich era/callahan era the public eye of nebraska football has become average... 'We' (the public fanbase) stoop to think that players like ruud, grixby, shanle, and coaches like cosgrove are "good enough" to get us by. when we play teams like ku and get stomped last year and this year blow a lead to ku and osu because we cannot defend a spread style offense when is enough enough? When will nebraska become nebraska again enriched with pride and teams that want to or should i say can win a national title or at least contend for one.
  16. hahahaha............. to bad the niners arent any good anymore! It sucks.... miss the late 80s and early 90 teams frum them
  17. Its not like that i just think that ruud, grixby(other than tackling skills), and coz are no good
  18. Sorry but, IMHO, that's kind of a dumb question. Knowing where to be and getting where you need to are two wholly different things. If he knows where to be, does he get there? If he gets where he has to be, doesn't that, by definition, mean he has adquate speed. then, can he make the tackle? I've not seen a lot of impressive tackling skills on this defense. It is so absent a skill that when a good fundamental hit, wrap and drop tackle is made, it is worthy of remark, as opposed to being the expected. It's a fundamental that appears to be overlooked. Not stupid, Ruud knows where to be at all times. He only gets there about 50%. Octavien knows where to be at all times. He only gets there about 50%. The difference is when Octo isnt there he is making a play, when ruud isnt there he is beat. Id rather a guy play balls to the wall and make a mistake or 2 than have a guy play timid and make mistakes left and right even though he is in position EXACTLY
  19. I guess if you forget the years folks said the same thing about McBride as you say about Cosgrove. The idea that coaches that have a job at this level don't know how to show a kid how to tackle is assinine. Forget that, kids at this level who don't know fundamental tackling shouldn't be playing at this level. Coz's track record was proven at wisconsin need i say more
  20. at this point i actually believe its because he isn't at 100% health-wise.... Earlier in the season he wasn't as fundamentally sound, but i think he is much closer now. Ruud seems timid at times, which isn't the mentality a LB needs.... SteveO and Mckeon both sat for Misery, so i am thinking we will see a good bunch of them for aTm, and they should be PUMPED I agree with you 100% timid might be and understatement on ruuds part though... i think aTm is gunna get ate up by octo amd mckeon this weekend! at least hope so.. as long as coz has a scheme setup for them to be successfull
  21. I think he is in agreeance wit me that we hoping ruud be a benchwarmer next year.. and thenarse is way better than culbert at saftey.. a bit bigger stronger and faster
  22. Its coaching... we need new D-Coordinator... hes not like pelini or mcbride who put fire in kids to go out and kill
