Oh thank God!!!!!!!!
But I will say to his credit, he seemed to take it personal when Bob Davie said during the USC game that NU's new offense resembled T.O.'s "O" because they kept running, and Mushburger jumped all over him comparing Callahan to TO.
-
Callahan should run the wrong ball play!!
I am the "O" coordinator for the local high school and we have from what I have seen through playing in HS and college the best trick play out there.
The line goes to the LOS, they don't set (hands on Knees) the center calls out "hey wrong ball" he touches the ball hands it back to the QB and the QB starts walking over to the sideline yelling hey coach wrong ball.
When he gets to the split end he either stuffs it in his belly or takes off himself down the sideline.
We only used it once against an Anchorage team that played like the guards in the longest yard and we were tired of hearing the coaches and players bitching so we padded the score a liitle more.
Man you should have seen the look on that CB's face when the split end took off.

That was very nice

I'm so far from Husker land I haven't heard any rumbling but has there been any word why the TE's aren't more part of the offense?? I thought maybe they were keeping them in to help protect the QB.
-
I forgot about the throat slash Mushmouth is going to be very busy, lets not forget about Johnny the Jets run!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
At least 10 times, which is fine with me!!!!!
-
I don't know who is doing the ABC coverage for the game but if it is Mushburger how many time do you think he will refer to Taylor's dad playing for OU and ZT for NU.
-
Yea I guess your right!!!!
-
I agree, beating OU without AP would mean the same in the win loss column but who wants to hear the OU fans and their excuses
-
Well wasn't Nebraska the most winning team in CFB since the mid 60's.
-
NU has a BB team?????
-
I'm not sure you can even quantify a BCS bowl berth as order restored. 40 years of near national domination is not restored in one season IMO
-
I watched the FL FSU game yesterday and are defense looks like high schoolers compared to the way they pursue to the ball,, tackle and just plain lay down some smack. Looks like what we used to have, and their D-backs don't play 10 yards off the recievers either.
We have a offense that can play with anybody, but are defense better step-up or we will get blown off the field. Stoops is no Dan Hawkins and will make the Huskers pay for all of their break downs in execution.
-
Don't want to be negative but I think you guys are all wearing rose colored glasses.
This team is not BCS caliber yet, can't tackle, can't cover recievers, can't get consistent playcalling and execution from the offense. Yet we are a 9-3 team which speaks to what Coach C has done but I think were still a season or two away.
-
Sounds like a very impressive young man, and is a hell of a lineman had a great early part of the season.
-
I thought of the same question this morning, anybody got the anwser???
-
Forget about the difference in weather, if you are only offered two scholarships, one from South Florida and the other from Nebraska and you select South Florida, then your an idiot and wouldn't be smart enough to qualify in the first place.....
And why in the HE!! are we recruting a kid like that anyway, it's one thing to steal a recruit from OU or Texas but WOW to get one away from South Florida thats impressive!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
The type of offense isn't in question, it's the execution and discipline. And it is getting better
I think the real shame is the statistics show a high powered "O", well just think what they would be if the offense didn't play like they had hand cuffs on.
Really the big thing that Callahan needs to learn is that killer instinct that most NFL coaches don't have.
This team should be no more than a one loss team, and the only loss to USC they were never given the opportunity to win.
Playing it close to the vest is one thing when you have a rock solid "D" and were not quite there yet.
I really like the offense and think we have great personnel, just a matter of getting more consistent playcalling.

Sorry, he is far from deserving that honor

1998 Neb vs Texas A&M.
I was living in Louisville Ky and had a date planned with a fellow coworkers daughter in-law. We were to do this and that, come to find out she played basketball at Eatern Ky and understood about sports so we went to the bar down the street, got drunk as hell, watched NU loose and then went back to my place and she gave me the sympathy treatment.........

Small town Alaska, full of Husker fans and one buff fan. Who do you think does the most talking???
-
Well will have a chance if Callahan doesn't stick his head in the sand in the second quarter on
Will never know if we could have beat USC because he was so conservative but this NU team is a one lost team if the coaches or lack there of wouldn't have gotten in the way.
