  1. I'm not sure what the thread starter's intentions are, but I will agree that play was INCREDIBLE.

Too bad Nebraska does not have anybody that reacts to the ball the way that safety does.

Hell, I don't think NU has a receiver who could have made that catch.

  2. Food for thought-Callahan's system works well, until we run up against good team.

Also the entire system, state, mindset, etc. didn't HAVE to be imploded and revamped, it was chosen to be. FYI, there were quite a few all conference players left over from the previous regime.

  3. I guess it depends if you consider 4 or 5 losses improvement against a weak weak big 12 this year. Weakest in History. Next year we better be much improved because the big 12 will be stronger and Wake, Nevada, and USC won't be pushovers.

Considering 9 out of the 12 teams in the conference are bowl eligible, I'd say we're not a weak conference.

Being bowl eligible doesn't mean much. Hell, all you have to do is have 6 wins and be .500, including 1AA games. Just ask FSU.

  4. It's hilarious how many people think a conference is weak just because there isn't an elite team that has a real shot at the national title.

How about a conference whose champion lost 2 games, and one whose teams have not fared well against outside competition?

Look, the Big 12 is down and in the last power rankings I saw (Thanksgiving) it was rated the 6th best, below the Big East even.

  5. Also, mabye Zac is one of those guys that just throws a "bad" ball. We have seen how many his WRs have dropped in the last couple of years and opposing DBs have dropped quite a few also.

  6. Zac is a gutsy, tough kid, but this is the kind of player he is. Good against bad teams, and not so good against good teams. He has gotten away with dangerous throws all year and tonight he ran into a team that could catch more potential picks then they dropped. In my opinion he won "Player of the year" by default. There were no standout players in the Big 12 this year on Offesne, some good solid players but not great players.

  7. When we have played against teams with good defenses (USC, UT) our offense has been anemic. OU may have the best D we have faced and according to Stoops possibly the best since he has been there. Their O can pound the rock and our D looked bad against decent/good teams vs' the run.

Look for a low scoring, 10-14 point OU win unfortunately.

  8. On Unsportsmanlike Conduct, they were saying that this gimmick plays have given the perception that NU needs to pull out all the stops against a 2-9 team at home. It doesn't reflect well upon them.

  9. The "phantom faskmask" that you speak of was called for grabbing the bottom of the helmet and tugging, which is not permitted. it's still a 15 yard Personal foul

I'm not aware of that rule, can you tell me where in the NCAA rulebook that is?

    You can't read it yourself?

I'm not going to waste my time on a rule that may not exist. If I made such a statement, I would back it up with some support.

Even the annoucers said that the refs blew it on that one.

Maybe this will shut you up: Rule 10 under penelty enforcement states continous contact with the opposing helmet is a 15 yard penalty. It took me all of 5 minutes to google up the info to make you look like an :asshat Now move over nancy

Maybe you could highlight it for me because in the 2006 NCAA football rulebook: http://www.ncaa.org/library/rules/2006/200...tball_rules.pdf

I did not see it where you claim it to be.

BTW, you don't have to be a jerk about it. Thanks

    I found in Section 9:

    k. No player shall continuously contact an opponent’s helmet (including

the face mask) with hand(s) or arm(s) (Exception: By or against the

    runner).

And in the interpretations: "XV. A defensive player, during a live ball, twists, turns or pulls the

face mask or any opening of the opponent’s helmet. RULING:

    Personal foul."

I guess it would be open to interpretation of the official as to whether the back of the helmet constitutes an opening. Personally, that is the first time I have seen it called.

  11. tough choice. Texas might actually be the easier win. OU is really playing well right now, and much better coached. UT looks very beatable with the KSU debacle, and how they are playing today vs A&M.

I reaelly dont know who I want more.

I agree. Either way NU has a very favorable draw in this game. Either OU who has lost almost it's entire O in one year, or UT who has played like garbage the last few weeks.

We have been very fortunate with our schedule this year.

  12. We had the 11th toughest schedule in the country and the hardest schedule in the Big XII.............enjoy it because people are shutting their mouths about our schedule!!!

    According to who?

The mods might be able to help out on this someone posted a link to the rankings so I only remember reading them on here.............quit being so negative!!!!

I didn't realize that being factually accurate was is "negative."

  13. KU, OSU, and KSU are bowl teams. If they play OU next weekend, the strength of schedule only goes up.

With the glutony of bowl games, being a "bowl team" only means that you were able to be .500, and one of the top half of the teams in the nation.

Whomever we play next week should improve our SOS.

  14. honestly, i think callahan said "heck with this, let's have some fun" and just let it go from there.

of all the second halfs during this season, *this* one was by far the most entertaining.

*this* is the husker team that should have showed up to the USC game.

I agree. If Callahan would have went into the USC game with a gameplan to win, NU could have made it interesting.

I would assume that it's easier to gameplan for a 2-9 team then it is to gameplan for a Top 5 team.

  15. 2 ranked teams? if i recall, USC was ranked, Texas was ranked, Misery was ranked and aTm was ranked. that's four

Looking at the latest polls only USC and Texas are rated.

I'm sure A&M will get in the new one, however.

and where is colorado?....ohhh ya 2-10

Exactly, CU can only hurt our SOS.

  16. The "phantom faskmask" that you speak of was called for grabbing the bottom of the helmet and tugging, which is not permitted. it's still a 15 yard Personal foul

  17. yeah, i think that's what he meant :dumdum:sarcasm:nanalama

Seriously, 11th toughtest in what? We have played only 2 rated teams and I have a hard time believing that this our schedule this year is 11th toughest in the nation.

    Well believe it, now shhhhh

That's funny cuz the latest Sagarin rating had NU's shchedule at #60.

  18. I didn't get to watch the entire game yet but I did catch the phantom "15 yard face mask" on NU's first TD drive, that gave us a first down to keep the drive going. That was one call that NU got for sure, and there was a very, very questionable call in the 3rd qtr I think. A pass interference that gave NU a first down deep in CU territory that led to a TD, which replay showed there was no contact until after the ball was tipped by the DB.

Do you mean the HB pass to Taylor where he was blatantly pushed to the ground before the ball reached him?!

No, I was talking about the one were Taylor threw into double coverage to Purify I think and one of the db's was facing the WR and he put up his arms and tipped the ball. They threw the flag on him
