  1. can vouch for the visit to Auburn. His brother goes there so of course he's got to go to the local school and stay close...don't know how well of an offer they will give him, but there's no way they are going to repeat next year with Cammy Cam gone and nasty Nick gone. Nebraska's taking it right?

You're not sure how well of an offer they will give him? Are you saying what it sounds like? Also when you say that he's got to stay close does that mean that if Auburn does offer he's gone? Like I said above, this guy is without a doubt a top five recruit in this class for me. He's right up there with Moore, Green, Starling, Turner and Jackson and if we lose this guy it would as significant of a loss as anyone in the class IMO.

  2. I still don't understand how a JUCO can be a 2 for 2 guy. If he graduated in 08' and redshirted the 08' year then he would have been coming out of JUCO last year after 2 years in JUCO as a 3 for 3 guy. So did he spend 3 years in JUCO then or what?

  3. This guy impresses the hell out of me. He has outstanding balance and lower body strength. I think the world of Green but I wouldn't be surprised in the least bit if Abdullah ends up being on the same level. With Turner, Green, Abdullah, Moore, Reeves, Sterup, and Klachko and the possibility of Starling our offense has incredible potential moving forward. We are finally getting the right type of athletes for the spread run game.

  4. At first I thought that he was just milking the whole official visit thing but then I thought why in the hell would he "take advantage" of coming to a town that has a high of 13 degrees in the next 3 days? He must have quite a bit of interest in NU if he's willing to do that.

  5. Considering our best season performance from a receiver the last two years is 36 receptions for 673 yards and 3 td's, plus the fact that it's obvious our offense is going toward a run game based offense, how can we blame any kid that doesn't want to come to NU to be a blocker? Not to mention if Gilmore comes back he will have to get up to 230 lbs before he's allowed to play.

  6. I know, boring subject, not gonna happen etc. But I would hope like no other that Gilmore is not returning for next season. Given the fact that Frost is one of the only WR coaches that has come up as a replacement does anyone think that Bo is just waiting until they are done w/ their game? Am I just dreaming that Gilmore is going somewhere else?

  7. Hey I'm not saying that from an OC point of view...or any position really. Just saying that I thought it was pretty cool that he got a shout out like that. Although I don't think anyone could do worse than Gilmore.

  8. So nobody wants Wats to be here past May but if he doesn't find a job then we are just going to let him stay on?! Does that make sense to anyone else? I'm as big of a Bo supporter as there is but good God Bo please grow a pair and get rid of the guy if you want to. If you don't then lock him up so he quits looking.

  9. An amazing qb? Amazing runner yes, but an amazing qb he is not. Anyone who can't do something as simple as step up in the pocket or feel the pressure in a simple 3 or 4 man rush is not an amazing qb. Someone who can't set his protection or make more than 1 read is not an amazing qb. I am hoping that he drastically improves on this in the off-season bc with his running ability that would make him pretty potent.

But as I've posted several times I just hope that team unity and morale doesn't crumble under his leadership.

  10. I'm not giving up on him at all but I do fear that players are seeing how Bo treated him and guarded him and are beginning to get upset and is ruining team morale. I have also heard from a number of people that nobody on the team likes him so if he's not performing on the field and they didn't like him in the first place he could possibly lose credibility and respect altogether.

  11. Well yes you would think so but if you look back to the last couple of years I'm not so sure that it is that obvious. We started off running the power run game in 2008 only to switch to the spread halfway through with elements of the zone read to it. We recruited guys like Robinson (ended up at Purdue), Turner, Taylor, Green, Carnes who are all dual threat qb's. If we were going to stick with the offense we ran in 08' why wouldn't we recruit more polished passers? However, on the field, until this year, it appeared that we were going to run a zone read that emphasized passing more than running from the qb.

  12. The things is is that we have finally stockpiled qb's that fit the zone read offense. I feel like if we bring in another OC that has a different vision than what Bo wants, which appears to be the zone read, then we will just be starting over again. I guess Turner and Taylor could play WR but then we would just have Green and Carnes as QB's. IMO it's an absolute MUST to get someone in here that THEIR OFFENSE is some variation of having a dual threat at qb.

  13. Ya it's actually been confirmed by quite a few places according to espn that weiss will be introduced as UF's OC. I completely agree. There are great offensive minds out there and if Pelini wants to run a specific offense fine but get an OC where that is the offense HE RUNS! Don't try to fit a square peg in a round hole by trying to let Watson learn how to call plays and develop an offense for something he hasn't ever done before.

  14. Yes that's basically what I was wondering what others thought about. That and do others think that Pelini is feeding into this by "protecting" him or sticking with him when it's obvious he wasn't what was best for the team when in reality if that was one of his guys on defense they would have been faster than they could have blinked.

  15. I've compared Taylor to Frazier in terms of other players not really liking them but with Frazier he without question got the job done. The entire team respected Frazier and knew that if he was leading them they could get the win. With Taylor I'm not so sure if the team actually respects him. With Bo it's always been the team before a single player. However, this year with Taylor it seems like he's giving him preferential treatment so I'm also wondering if that is getting on the teams nerves.

Overall I'm really fearful that unless the team and Bo come together in the off-season and get all of their thoughts out on the table the team will fall apart if things continue the way they did this year with Taylor's treatment. Right now I view him as a cancer that unless dealt with now will spread to the entire team much like 2007.
