  1. Can we drop a ban on threads like this? I'm sick of being portrayed as a butthurt fan who has a sad when another fan of a different team doesn't drop to their knees and kiss our hand.

    Get over it already.

Agreed. There are douchers in every crowd. Threads that jump to conclusions about whole fan bases due to anecdotal experiences are not productive, nor do they represent good character from Nebraska fans. No offense to the OP, he never claimed the entire fan base was obnoxious, but the thread sets the stage for posts to take it in that direction.

OK, I agree - but, Colorado is still the exception to the good citizenship rule.

  2. I hope defensive unit puts "653" up on the wall all over the locker room, weight room, stadium, everywhere as a reminder that need to pull their heads out of their ass and play like they want to be there

I'd rather Bo write it on their faces with a sharpie while they sleep.

Bo is the guy who needs to have it written on his face!!!

I wasn't watching a team that was motivated to win last night. Guys standing around with their hands on their hips while a live ball was 20-yards down field. Cosgrove is where and when I last saw that in a Husker team.

I was pissed every time I saw a sideline shot with the Defensive coaches in Black Shirts - Get those guys out of those BLACKSHIRTS - they don't deserve to wear them any more than the players...............

  3. Cool story Hansel.

Our Dcoordinator (carl) under Bo has ALWAYS worn a blackshirt. ALWAYS. Look it up. Send me a link to a photo or vid of a game that he didnt. It was an ID thing for signalers. Ive noticed guys doing signaling, offense and defense are wearing different colored shirts from the rest of the staff. I noticed more than that wearing them today.

Understand the need to identify the signal caller - Still seems wrong to use the Black Shirt symbol until the "Team" has earned it. Not a big deal for sure - just saying....

  4. It just kind of hit me while watching the game:

Bo wore a white shirt and our brand new Defensive Coordinator wore a Black Shirt.

I don't think a Defensive Coach should wear a Black Shirt until he has coached up his team to play like Black Shirts.....kind of a taking responsibility thing......

But - I was really happy for the kids who came together on the offensive side of the ball today - they did a great job and played as a team.

WR's that catch balls and balls put in the right place to be caught - YES!!! We had time to throw the ball - YES!!! Pretty good down field blocking - YES!!!! I couldn't keep track of all the RB's who were making good yards - YES!!

UCLA will just run through us, won't get much in the air......but I know we can outscore them.

  5. If I still get out the DVD of that game and watch it maybe 2 or three times a year - you bet your sweet petunia Spurrier sees it every night before he goes to sleep - if - he can get to sleep!

    GBR

Mmmm no. That's why Spurrier is a hall of fame coach and you're a guy who watches DVDs of games that happened 16 years ago.

Hey Cupcake - Have you guys "ever" had a game that anyone remembers for 15 years? It's been a lot of years since Spurrier was that Hall of Fame coach - maybe since the mid 90's when Nebraska ended his run?

    Have a wonderful holidays!

  6. I support Bo and understand the difficulties of recruiting to Lincoln. But -

Has NU under Bo won one game in which they were the underdog? I see a lot of Coach's names on the list at the beginning of this post where their teams consistantly show up and win the big games - games they were not expected to win - so far we have not won that big game. Close but no cigar!

"If you can do it, it ain't braggin!"

  7. The "O" Line gets the Pigskin of Shame.............

Those guys were stood straight up and getting pushed backwards all game long.

How many times did we see the Center/right Guard stood straight up and pushed back into the ball carrier waiting for a hole to open up?

Darn - I thought we were looking past this kind of stuff.......

  8. I hope you Dawgs enjoy your time in Lincoln.

Last year in Seattle we had a really great time. Your fans were really nice people, just like being in Lincoln.

The Dawg pep band came to our bus and played Nebraska fight songs - pretty classy move.

We had a super time in '91 too!!! Your west stadium was RED - it was like a HOME game for the Huskers.

Now if we could only teach the Duck fans some manners........

I just get really frustrated reading thread starters like this. I linked the thread that talks about ESPN gameplan, gametimes, over lapping channels etc. etc., with links to OTHER threads on this same message board that also discuss this topic.

Obviously google doesnt work for some people or scrolling half way down the page on this message board.

Sorry for being mean, but this is getting extremely old.

I found the thread on the post above yours as well, but it didn't go past the first game for The Big Ten Network.

Yes, I agree with you, you are mean spirited as well.

  10. We need to rip the heads off their players and send them to the scum that are their fans.

By the way, the Washington Fans last year in Seattle were just as great as those in Lincoln. They were as gracious and hospitible as anything I've seen in Lincoln. You are totally wrong in your critique of the Dog Fans. These are good people just like in Lincoln.

Is no one worried about the games we have lost recently where our team was just not prepared to win? Washington beat us fair and square in the bowl game - we didn't come prepared to play.....this was a coaching failure in my opinion. If Bo can't get his team up for a bowl game, or any game, there is a problem. The kool aid just won't work here.

We seem to have issues with keeping our eye on the ball - only to lose to teams that we should have overcome.

  11. I called Dish and also couldn't get a straight answer yesterday regarding BTN. Went to the Direct TV web page and their whole house HD package looks enticing for sure. Looks like Direct TV has all the sports channels Dish has and more.

    Question:

Anyone who has switched from Dish to Direct TV, any regrets or components of the Dish Services you miss or cannot get on Direct TV?

    RiverRunner

  12. GBR

How many channels of the BTN does Direct TV carry during the day? More than one channel?

I checked with Dish, I live in the Portland, OR area, and DISH will only have one channel of BTN and I have to get an additional $7/month sports package and I already carry their EVERYTHING package.

  13. Don't know what is up with this story, but 'under attack' is right. I don't get it.

At first I was reading and thought, wow, that is a low blow from Pelini. And it is, if that's what he promised.

But the article gets more and more absurdly melodramatic. An extremely poor attempt by the author...not even sure what she was trying to go for. It's usually not a good idea for reporters to write with emotion. I have a feeling she got more caught up in the outrage - substantially more - than even the sailor's disappointment.

Agreed. This article was definitely written out of rage and hatred. This is why I hate reporters.

Fair and Balanced?....Fox News?....? Be afraid, be very, very afraid.

  14. The sad thing is he made no adjustments. With an injured QB who can't run you have to work around what your team can accomplish. If your getting sacked go to max protect or have an outlet like a check down pass to the fullback or HB. This man lives or dies by the same play weather it's working or not. The read option won't work when your QB is no longer a threat, common sense.

You are correct! I really don't want to watch any more Watson called games at NU. Bring in someone new who gives the players a chance to play!

  15. Wats' playcalling is fine. With decent talent in there we score 50.

    Bullcrap.

Tell me one occasion last night where you could see Watson identify a weakness in the UW defense and then called a play to capitalize on it. Can you even think of once? We just kept calling the same game no matter how UW was coming at us.

  16. This coaching staff really let a great group of kids down this year.

Imagine being on the O-line and having a coach incapable of taking advantage of overaggressive defenses just like tonight - never able to protect you from getting hammered each and every play because the defense knows you won't do anything new. I would be really pissed given the effort the team has put out.......
