I agree it's unlikely that Gregory comes back, but it's not crazy. It's possible to realize that a solid insurance policy + no likely consequences to your draft status makes one last year of college football (an opportunity you will never ever have again) worth the risk.

  And Randy might look at what most people think, print it out on toilet paper, and go do his business. That's what I meant about the human element in the thread: I know almost jack about the dude. Who he is. What he thinks or feels about all this. Nebraskans may well scratch their heads, but I don't think it's CRAZY to enjoy where you're at enough to make a choice other people consider a mistake.

  He may come back, especially if he feels he has something left to prove/accomplish, or if like you said he has mates on the team. He could be the key player in one of the more terrifying defenses ever next year if he stays.
