  1. Rivals finally posted some good film of Jamal. This makes me more excited about him as a QB. The kid shows some moxie under pressure.

He reminds me of a Tyrod Taylor. Undersized at being around six feet tall, and seems to have a strong arm, and you're not going to find many QB's with more quickness and ability to make a big play when the pocket breaks down. He could be used in design runs frequently with success (zone-read, options).

I expect him to be ranked as one of the top Dual-Threat QB's in the country for the 2011 class, and we'd be very lucky to have him.

  3. 1.) Texas 2009...never in my days seen a defensive performance like that

2.) Notre Dame 2001...last game I went to when we were on the national picture

    3.) Colorado 2008...

4.) @ USC 2006...LA was a ton of fun, and I got an appearance on Gameday!

5.) USC 2007...Never seen a crowd like that before a game. Husker!-Power! was incredible

  4.

We travel to Wash and OSU, and the A&M game is the one that worries you? :hmmph That makes a LOT of sense! :sarcasm

A&M worries me more than OSU, yes. Sherrod Johnson > the garbage QB that replaced Zac Robinson at times this season. Christine Michael is a very talented back, and A&M will have a lot pieces returning from an offense that put up some good numbers this season.

Well you are entitled to that opinion. I personally am about as scared to play A&M as I am about losing a fist fight with Vern Troyer. ie: Not very!!!

What concerns you about going to Stillwater to play OKlahoma State?

  5.

I know it's early, but like many of you, I don't expect the defense to be much different than it has been this season, even with losing Ndamukong. With an offense that can put up 20 points, is it really too bold to say we have a very legitimate chance at making a BCS NC run? Looking at this schedule, Washington and Texas are both very winnable games, and going to A&M could be a swing game.

I know it's early, but this is what makes us Nebraska.

  6. Our first toughest game will be against Washington, especially considering the fact that Locker is probably returning for his senior season. I heard somewhere that he was coming back, and then I heard he hadn't made a choice yet, so idk. Either way, they have good athletes, but I still don't think they have enough offensively to compete with us defensively.

Every game next year is 'winnable', just as every game this year was 'winnable'. I never count a team out of winning a game until the clock reads zero and the other opponent has more points.

OSU and Texas both lose their record setting QB's. The North, albeit slightly better with Gabbert being back, is still going to be a toss up as to who wins it imho. We can't count on anything these days....

Anyways, next years schedule looks good for us. Texas A&M is the game that has me worried above others, but I'm confident that we can hold them 3 scores or less. I know Texas and Texas A&M are rivals, but if we could shut down the Texas offense, I don't see a whole lot stopping us next year even with Suh being gone.

I see us losing a close game to Mizzou, but I think that ultimately we win the North

Blaine Gabbert is not coming into Lincoln and beating us.

  7. 09/04 Western Kentucky Lincoln

I know it's early, but this is what makes us Nebraska.

  8. I said we'd be playing LSU in the Cotton Bowl before the season started. That was also before we lost Quentin Castille. And Iowa State.

But if we win out and have a nice showing in the Big 12 Championship, that prediction COULD come true, although the Holiday Bowl seems more realistic at this point.

  9. Our offense will be fine, did everyone expect Zac to not take any lumps during his first couple of starts? Winning at Virginia Tech and at Missouri are not easy wins, and he was one play away from going 2-0 in those games while being a first year starter.

Zac will continue to progress as he continues to get more starts, similar to the way Zac Taylor did and Joe Ganz did. Zac might be the most talented of those three, and he very well could be due for a big season.

  10. And to further poke holes in this nonsense, Miami had pretty much the same team back in 2002, they again had several unimpressive wins, and they were incapable of defending their title.

If this is such a great team, where are there other titles? That Husker team won another one in 1994 and damned near had one in 1993, missing by a field goal.

As impressive as that roster looks, their resume isn't up to par with the 1995 Husker team's.

This debate is absurd. It's not even close.

They were screwed out of a title game shot in 2000, and in 2002 were a bullsh#t pass interference call in OT from defending their title.

  11. There is simply too much talent on the 01 Miami team to ignore.

And yet you're willing to ignore the boatload of talent on the 1995 Husker team.

  13. Husker fans should be well aware of that 01 Miami team. Look up that roster and tell me with a straight face that

a Tommie Frazier led Huskers team would compete with that team

Yeah, and that's what they said when Nebraska went down to face Florida. Everybody was saying things like:

    1) Nebraska's offense will sputter and won't score points against the talented Florida defense, saying Florida had "too much speed".

    2) Nebraska's defense would be ripped apart by the "fun n' gun" offense of Steve Spurrier.

    3) They even went as far to say that we wouldn't be able to compete on a grass field because we played on field turf.

And what happened? Nebraska hangs up 62 points, only gives up 24, and led 35-10 going into half.

I'm baffled out how you can be a Husker fan and realistically think that Miami of '01 was a better team. Nebraska didn't win a game by fewer than 2 touchdowns the whole season.

    You make no sense.

There is simply too much talent on the 01 Miami team to ignore.

Clinton Portis, Willis Mcgahee, Frank Gore, Bryant Mckinnie(who never gave up a sack in 4 years at miami), Jeremy Shockey, Kellen Winslow, Andre Johnson, Vince Wilfork, Johnathon Vilma, DJ Williams, Ed Reed, Sean Taylor, Mike Rumph, Phillip Buchannon. That's just off the top of my head.

The 95 Florida team was no where near the same galaxy as the talent level that the 01 Miami team had.

    You make no sense.
