  1. Most obnoxious fans in college football....

    Ohio State. Sorry Bo.

They play in the Little 11, beating up on the worst BCS teams in college football, while getting absolutely destroyed by any sort of team with a pulse. They feel that they are entitled to be included among the elites of college football, when in reality, they are nowhere near elite.

    Sorry Bo.

  2. looks like Nebraska is no longer one of his favorites

Again, why is there a thread, updates for a guy that NU hasn't even offered??? Or not even recruiting??

i am getting concerned again. we can't seem to attract the big names names for even a visit.

    See above comment!!

Because people like to follow recruiting without having to pay for the subscriptions on rivals or scout.

  3. Urell Johnson has reached double-digit offers

    O. Perry Walker in New Orleans, La. produces major college football talent as much as any other school in South Louisiana. The Chargers have a few prospects that are piling on the offers for 2010 and one is cornerback Urell Johnson.

Urell Johnson made his mark on the field last season for O. Perry Walker and established himself as a lockdown defender when he picked off three passes and recorded 40 tackles.

Johnson (5-11, 175, 4.5) gives himself that label and it seems that there are a number of college coaches who agree with him.

“I can match up with the team’s best receiver and my coaches feel good about putting me on an island or putting me at safety,” Johnson said. “That’s what coaches have said they like about me the most.”

The scholarship offers that Johnson has from the likes of Tennessee, Virginia, Baylor, Colorado, Nebraska, Southern Miss, Texas Tech, Louisiana Tech, Virginia, Kansas State and Utah indicates that there are plenty of suitors that would like to land the three-star cornerback prospect.

One other school of interest on Johnson’s radar is LSU and he feels that he impressed the coaches when he made his way to Baton Rouge in June for LSU’s camp.

“I worked out for Coach [Ron] Cooper [defensive backs coach] and he said he liked what he saw and that I did good,” Johnson said. “He said they wanted to offer me. But I never got the chance to talk much with Coach [Les] Miles while I was there.”

Johnson hopes to get more information on the status of his offer during the coming weeks and months when he makes a return trip to Baton Rouge – either unofficially or officially.

That will be one of many trips that the country’s 79th ranked cornerback prospect will have taken over the course of the recruiting process.

“I went to LSU’s camp then I just got back from Virginia,” Johnson said. “I enjoyed being up in Virginia and being with the players and coaches. [Grad Assistant] Coach [Devon] Fitzsimmons is from the New Orleans area so me and him bonded real fast. Then I met with [head] Coach [Al] Groh before I left and he just let me know that they were holding a spot for me. That was good to hear because I don’t want to rush into this decision.”

Johnson has taken his time with sifting through the schools that have expressed an interest in him and at this point in time he doesn’t seem close to making a decision.

“You go to places like LSU and Virginia and see everything then you wonder what other schools have,” explained Johnson. “I still feel like I’m wide open with all of this.

“LSU is the hometown team and they got it going on over there, but I want to see what other schools have to offer when I take my official visits. I want to see who all offers and who really wants me then I’ll begin to focus on certain schools.”

His heart seems to be set on LSU, like every other kid from Louisiana.

I'm still hoping that Curtis Carter is an exception

  4. I just can't help but to think that this kid will end up at LSU. When its all said and done he will probably be a 5.9 four star and they just don't seem to leave Louisiana very often.

Yes, but Bo's name still means quite a bit to the people in Louisiana. I think we have a very legit shot at this kid.

This is the recruit I want the most right now. I can't stress enough, we need more speed from our playmakers.

  5. I'd love for Curtis to be made into a WR/PR/KR man, we need more speed on the offensive side of the ball. If we get him N, our receiving core could be very dangerous for years to come, to go along with Anthony Bell and Keeston Terry (who's tearing it up this summer ).

  6. 1. Jermaine Gresham

    2. Sam Bradford

    3. Colt Mccoy

    4. Robert Griffin III

    5. Jordan Shipley

Don't agree with the 5 pick, but there's no way that Shipley isn't one of the top 40 players in the Big 12.

Wow my bad! didnt see Shipley already listed at number 18. besides the top 4 i have listed, who's gunna be the last of the five to fill out this list?

  7. Can you say Percy Harvin? Brandon James? Jeff Demps? Chris Rainey?

These are the type of players that has made Urban Meyer the best coach in college football.

Did Nebraska talk to Urban Meyer after Solich was fired?

  9. Florida Atlantic: W 45-24 - Plenty of speed for FAU, they'll get behind our DB's a few times

Arkansas St: W 41-7 - Defense plays a tougher game, and offense continues to roll

@ Va. Tech: L 20-28 - Va Tech, like us, will be MUCH better in 09. Our offense just isn't there yet.

Louisiana-Lafayette: W 38-17 - One more warmup before we strap it up for BigXII play.

@ Missouri: W 31-24 - Tough to win at Folsom in recent years: Blaine Gabbert, meet Ndamukong Suh.

Texas Tech: W 41-35 - Tech lacks playmakers now that Crabtree left, should've beaten them last year.

Iowa State: W 45-7 - Paul Rhodes is going to have a very long season.

@ Baylor: W 31-27 - Robert Griffin scares the hell out of me. If he was healthy, Baylor beats us last year.

Oklahoma: L 35-49 - Bradford, Murray, Gresham. Too much of a talent gap between us and OU.

@ Kansas: W 45-42 - This will be similar to the TTech game last year. Shootout, but our D wins it in the 4th.

Kansas State: W 41-0 - Bill Snyder's has a long way to go before the PussyCats are respectable.

@ Colorado: W 41-38 - Always a tough game for the Big Red to win in Boulder. They always play us tough.

BigXII Championship Game Vs OU/UT: L 24-41 - Simply put, we just aren't there yet.

AT&T Cotton Bowl Vs LSU: L 27-31 - You think Bo wants to win this game? We aren't there yet.

10-4 Big 12 North Champs...a step in the right direction for the Huskers. We should be more than happy to have this type of season.

Oh and I almost forgot...I said at this time last year, that the 08 huskers would go 8-4 with losses to Va tech, Missouri, Texas Tech, and OU, and would go on to win the Alamo Bowl. Granted, my bowl game prediction was a bit off, but you get the point.

  10. best play in our playbook against an aggressive defense on 3rd and medium/long.

I kept thinking to myself that we didn't run it nearly as much as we did in 06 and 07. That play was probably the best thing that Cally did for this program. Was ran beautifully with Marlon vs Baylor in 08. That play was best suited for Marlon, as he did some great things in the open field.
