  1. 1.) Marcel Jones - Is he ready to be our starting tackle?

2.) Jared Crick/Terrence Moore - Everyone talks about B Stein, while these are the two that are going to keep him from getting significant PT

3.) The Osborne Twins - I love tall safety's that can cover ground and ball-hawk. Steven/Courtney (i dont know which one is WR and which one is S) is going to be the next big, tall possesion WR for Nebraska (Mo Purify, Todd Peterson, Meno Holt)

4.) Cody Green/Zac Lee - I'm sorry but I just don't buy the talk about Spano having a shot here. It's a 2-man race for this job. Can we take to the bank that Green won't be redshirting?

5.) Will Compton/Alonzo Whaley/Sean Fisher - Plenty of talk about these Redshirt Frosh LB's. Which one(s) will rise to the challenge and recieve regular PT, or possibly even a starting job?

  2. Warning levels will be adjusted.

    What does this mean?

Every member has a warning level. 0 to 100 we raise in increments of 10 depending on the rule violation determines the size of the increase. Get to a certain level and there are suspensions.

    Niiiiiiiiice! What's my warning level?

On a side note.....everyone is crazy if they think an athlete like this wouldn't help this team out. However, I honestly don't think he has any intention of coming here. Just a teenager blinded by 'love' it sounds like.

  3. I'm so sick of hearing everyone rant about how "this kid is a prima donna and doesn't derseve a phone call from Bo".

1.) We're in no way, shape, or form at a position right now where we can turn away top talent like this. Our team has One, yes, ONE, UNO, home run threat offensively. (Helu) Our offense doesn't scare anybody because of our lack of speed. I'm real disappointed in the recruiting of our WR's, we need a real playmaker. (a Maclin, Crabtree, Bryant, Iglesias, Cosby/Shipley, Briscoe, Jordy Nelson)...I kinda got off topic, but my point is, we need all the playmakers we can get, and we should be pushing hard for Oku to be N.

2.) True or False, Dr. Tom recruited players to win, and didn't shy away from players who had character issues.

  4. All the measurables you want in a WR. I'm surprised that the state of Kansas has produced two stud recruits the past two years.

Don't you mean THREE stud recruits the past THREE years.

    10- McCay

    09- Bryce Brown

    08- Arthur Brown

  5. I'm so excited for this game. I will be making the trip to Blacksburg. I truly believe this is that "breakthrough" win for this program. Va Tech will be highly ranked in the preseason polls, a probable top 10 team. Isn't our last victory over a ranked team that was ranked better than 23rd when we beat #1 Oklahoma in 2001? I know most of us on here believe that our game against the Hokies this season was a very winnable one. Va tech will be much improved, but so will our boys in red! Mark my words. This will be the game that gets Nebraska back on the national stage.

Anyone else care to share their opinion?

Man, I really hope everyone thinking nebraska is actually going to be BETTER next year is right. Personally I think we will take a step back because our offense will be so dry. Clearly our defense will be better, but I have to say...with an all new QB, and loosing all our star offensive players (except RB's), our offense will struggle. I would agree that a win there could put us back on the national stage. But I have a hard time believing we are really going to be that good. 2-3 years I my best guess.

People were saying the same types of things last year regarding our WR's after we lost Purify, Nunn, Hardy. Everyone all over these boards were saying that our WR's would take a significant step backwards, when in contrast, I felt our WR's took a step forward. There's a lot of young talent on both sides of the ball, and as we saw this past season, Watson will find ways to produce yet another top 20 offense. Don't get me wrong, Nate Swift is my all-time favorite Husker, and we'll miss his reliability, but I'm not too concerned about our offense not clicking. Witt/Lee/Green/Spano will lead this offense, there's no reason why we shouldn't expect the same type of success out of our starting Qb in 09.

  6. Nice to see him show up when it matters.

:bs: wow, can't believe all the Lucky bashing around here... So what if he did not live up to the hype, he came here and had stiff competition at RB the whole time, he did not whine about it or threaten to transfer, he stuck it out, did what was asked, graduated and now gets the old :nutz from the fans. I was happy to see him have a good day at the all star game and hopefully he will land somewhere in the NFL.

I remember reading that Lucky had spoken to Billy C about transferring after his sophomore year if Brandon Jackson didn't turn pro.

  7. This is a LONG time away, but looking at it now, I see no way NU can win this game on the road playing sloppily on offense (all of last year) and playing porous defense against a top 10 ranked team. Heck vintage NU teams playing on the road against top 10 ranked teams had a bear of a challenge let alone a rebuilding NU team. NU will have to beat VT at their own game, winning with defense and special teams. I don't think NU can do that just yet, not enough athletes or experience on that side of the ball. That and in order for NU to succeed next year, Barney Cotton will have to step up and go to work this off season getting the O-line together and the 2 junior I-backs better be ready to take their games to another level.

Breaking in a new QB, NU will have to win games running the ball and playing tough, smart defense next year. The ball control passing game probably won't cut it next year or be available. Time for some spread option running football :)

Almost every Husker fan was saying these types of statements when talking about the 2008 Texas Tech at Lubbock. Most people thought we had no shot whatsoever, and the Big Red came out and, technically, should have won that football game. Don't count out the Big Red in any game next season, as this Husker football team will be much improved.

  9. Keep in mind Terrelle Pryor was the number 1 recruit overall last year. Cody Green is ranked as the #10 dual-threat QB. To expect Green to have the kind of year Pryor had as a freshman (actually kind of mediocre -- should have kept Boeckman in the mix) is asking a lot from a guy who shredded his ankle. Add to that the natural animosity (it's pretty clear most of the players on Ohio State do not like Pryor) from veteran players and he needs to sit.

How is it clear that most of the veteran Ohio State players do not like Pryor?

  10. I really think our man Suh will be declaring for the draft. Top defensive tackles are hard to come by in the NFL, and I just don't see how he wouldn't declare after such a dominating performance.

I really hope I'm wrong, as we all would love to have him back for 2009. Either way, Suh will always be loved!

  11. wow it surprises me that we wouldn't even persue this kid, especially with all the talk about certain commits not qualifying. Hopefully thats all speculation, because I love our DB commits right now.

As long as we have every DB commit qualify, I'm ok with this.

  12. I'm not worried about the defensive line next year. The LB's and DB's.....that's a different story!!!!!

Our LB's should be greatly improved next year. Phill Dillard, Will Compton, Sean Fisher, Blake Lawrence, LeTravis Washington, Chris Williams (depending on the severity of his knee injury).

You can expect a lot of freshman who were redshirted this year to get quality PT, and not just at the LB position.
