  1. Here's my take on these three guys (Gill, Pelini, Callahan), and how they stack up to each other. Gill has been a loyal husker coach and has always done a great job for us... but he's not head coach material... sorry. Pelini did a good job all season and showed some talent in the bowl game, but his antics and his overreactions tell me he was desperately trying to get anyone who was watching (NFL guys) to give him a shot as a head coach, if he did get the job at Nebraska though.. my guess is he'd be gone as soon as he got an offer in the pro game. And again, he's never head coached before. I think SP wants someone proven as a head coach, and proven in turning programs around.... which leads me to Callahan. This guy is a great coach, and look at Oakland.. very physical football team, akin to Nebraska in a lot of respects... and he took the team to the SuperBowl in 2003! His team did fall apart this year though 4-12? But, there's a lot of things that have to go wrong for a team to go 4-12.. that aint a coaches fault really, plus I've read alot about players intentionally missing blocks, etc.. etc. This guy got a bad wrap this year, and if he came to Nebraska.. he'd have a damn good chance of redeeming himself, and that's just what he'd do.. turn the NU football program around and get his name back up there.... so he could go back to the NFL. Wow, once I look at it.. I don't think I want any of these guys.. dangit NUTT why'd you turn us down!! :-) later. -Tk.
  2. hallelujah.. love that line. "Usually the people who complain the loudest are the ones who know the least." No doubt.. let the guy do his job, he's got it under control. And if not.. well, he'll be gone in a couple years.. oh well.

come on people, SP is getting a horrible wrap from most NU fans that he doesn't deserve. This guy has a history of hiring good coaches and turning programs around.. let him do his stuff, then next season we'll see how he did. (not in terms of wins/losses though, with a true sophomore QB)
  4. Well.. it ended up being a 7-point ballgame.. man that was great to watch.. even better since LSU held on. And LSU and USC ended up being co-champs... hmm, never saw that one coming.
  5. Yeah, the colts just trampled denver.. wasn't funny. I'm picking them (the colts) to win the AFC. Peyton had his second perfect QB rated game (158.3) in a post-season game (which no-one thought he could win). He's got that monkey off his back.. and they're rolling. And the biggest suprise of that game possibly was how the defense played. Whoever wins in the NE vs Tennessee game.. I'm sure the colts can take if they beat K.C. Titans haven't beaten them this year.. and the colts were half a yard short of beating New England. On the NFC side? Green Bay.. don't laugh, this team's been on a roll since Favre's father passed away. He's got a lot to play for.
