I swapped OSU for Michgian. I'm so used to our "balanced" schedule from the Big 10, that have OSU on it is just engrained in my brain.

The 2022 college football season kicks off in a matter of weeks, but before the games can begin, a tradition as engrained in the sport as any must take place: preseason rankings. Our starting point for the season is the CBS Sports 131 -- our comprehensive ranking of every team at the FBS level, now including James Madison -- which has last year's College Football Playoff runner-up Alabama holding the No. 1 spot with all but one voter choosing the Crimson Tide as the top team in the nation entering the season.

Ohio State football unanimously picked as Big Ten champion in 12th annual cleveland.com preseason poll
For the first time in five years, Ohio State football does not enter the season as the defending Big Ten champion. Another streak continues, though, as the Buckeyes remain the favorite to reclaim their crown. Per 36 voters in the 12th annual cleveland.com preseason Big Ten football poll, OSU was the unanimous choice to win both the East Division and the conference championship game in Indianapolis. Ohio State is the first unanimous preseason favorite since 2015, when it was also picked to win the league as the defending national champion. This is the third straight season Ohio State was picked to win the league. It followed through in 2020, but a loss to Michigan in the 2021 regular-season finale ended a four-year run as champion. Quarterback C.J. Stroud was the clear pick for preseason offensive player of the year, and receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba finished second. Four Buckeyes received preseason defensive player of the year votes. Wisconsin is the overwhelming favorite to win the West, taking 31 first-place votes. Iowa was the consensus second-place pick with three first-place votes. Minnesota, picked to finish third, received the other first-place votes.

Big Ten Preseason Predictions For Every Game: Preview 2022
You want the predictions for the 2022 Big Ten football season? It’s not all that hard …Ohio State is going to be fantastic, and now it’s mad.We got the Michigan curveball last year. It’s rebuilding, but it’s still going to be strong. Michigan State and Penn State are good, Wisconsin is really good, Iowa is Iowa, and others like Maryland and Nebraska should rise up and have good seasons.Who can catch the Buckeyes? More interesting will be a few strange twists and turns. Most of the solid teams can hang with or beat anyone else in the conference, and on the right day an Illinois or Northwestern or Rutgers should have the formula to pull off something fun. There are two more years before USC and UCLA come aboard. That’s all anyone will be talking about, but until then, this season should be entertaining – at least outside of what OSU will probably do.

Let's wait until the season plays out before we crown Mr. Whipple King.
I don't see anyone here doing that. Whipple could be a disaster. But Narduzzi is flat out wrong in what he said.

Big Ten West football preview: Wisconsin, Purdue, Iowa, Minnesota all have a shot
If the old "Defense wins championships" adage were actually true, the Big Ten West would have won one by now. No division in major college football has collectively stuck to the "defense and a good run game" approach more religiously.
On average, Big Ten West teams ran 64% of the time on standard downs last season; the national average was 59%, and only the FBS divisions with option stalwarts Air Force (MWC Mountain) and Georgia Southern (Sun Belt East) were higher. They stuck to the ground and asked their quarterbacks to bail them out on third-and-long, and when that (usually) didn't work, they turned the game over to a brilliant defense: The West's average defensive SP+ rating of 18.8 adjusted points per game was the lowest in FBS. Wisconsin, Iowa and Minnesota all ranked in the top 10, and strangely, only Northwestern, typically as defensive as anyone, ranked worse than 32nd.
Previewing the Big Ten West is like going back in time. The quarterbacks are mostly either unproven or proven in the wrong way, and the cup of good linebackers, centers and running backs overflows. But two things are pretty certain: The West race could go in any number of different directions, and the winner is going to be awfully good.
Granted, the words "Big Ten" and "West" took on new definitions last week with the conference's announced additions of USC and UCLA. But let's preview what is currently the West division.

I wish we'd drop a game and go 3-5-5. It's stupid to handicap yourself.

Or just losing to Iowa 8 straight...

2022 Big Ten win totals, odds, picks: Predictions for each team as Ohio State, Michigan face large numbers
The Big Ten saw plenty of surprises last season. Michigan won the conference for the first time since 2004 and went to the College Football Playoff, while Ohio State and Michigan State played in New Year's Six bowls. In the conference's West division, Minnesota recovered from a down 2020 to win nine games, as did Purdue, which notched its highest win total since 2003.
On the other side, Penn State had another mediocre (7-6) season and Northwestern followed up a division title with a 3-9 record. Will we see as many surprises in 2022, or will things return to normal? I have no idea, but that's never stopped me from trying to peak into the future anyway. Let's do that with a look at 2022 Big Ten win totals from Caesars Sportsbook
QuoteNebraska
Over/under 7.5 wins
Wins: Northwestern, North Dakota, Georgia Southern, Indiana, Illinois, Minnesota
Losses: Oklahoma, Rutgers, Purdue, Michigan, Wisconsin, Iowa
Analysis: Can the greatest 3-9 team of all time improve to 8-4 in 2022? Considering Nebraska played like a 6-6 team last year, it technically wouldn't be that large a leap, but I'm not going to bet on it. Honestly, I don't know what anybody has seen from Nebraska over the last eight years that would make them optimistic about anything. However, I think we'll see a rebound from a lot of the horrific breaks this team suffered last year. The Greatest 3-9 Team Of All Time will be a perfectly mediocre 6-6 team. It might even get to 7-5, but betting on 8-4 feels foolish.
Pick: Under 7.5 (-125)- 3

Media days are July 26-27 so I would assume right around there.
We're scheduled on the 26th, so I would bet camp starts the 27th or 28th. Gives them 3 weeks for fall camp, then it's game week in Ireland.

Can't argue too much with that list.. except Will Levis. Way too high.
And Stetson Bennet. He'll never sniff the NFL. He was carried by an elite surrounding cast.

This is what makes part of the Frost era so frustrating. The B1G West didn’t suddenly become this Murderer’s Row division where they’re all winning at some unattainable pace. They’re all basically winning at the same clip as they always were. With Wisconsin never really getting a stranglehold on the division, it’s been pretty open the last few years. Super frustrating that we could never take advantage of that, even more so with the end of divisions looming.
Bingo. The ethos of most of the Big West is to just not screw up. Nebraska has to stop beating itself to get out of this funk.
