  1. basically, if you can not get into the top 9, you have no excuses in an 8 team playoff.

Are you kidding me.... because the 8th ranked team is so much better than the 9th ranked team.....especailly with biased rankings towards the SEC teams, for example youd be perfectly fine if Nebraska was ranked 9th behind 3 SEC teams....you would honestly say they dont deserve to be in the playoff especially if they were 10-2 losing in a conference championship game..... Ill call bullsh#t on that one.

  2. What would be the incentive for BCS conferences to schedule a tough ooc schedule when non-BCS schools get to play a schedule full of teams that BCS conferences schedule as cupcakes?

what's the incentive now? in a playoff, the perennial powerhouses could lose one or two games and still end up in the top 8 and allowed to play in a playoff. i really do not know what your post was an argument for or against... but that is my thought.

So your gonna say that the 10th ranked team is less deserving than the 8th ranked team, or lets look at it this way, Ohio State is ranked 8th and lost to the 18th ranked team in the nation and plays in the BIG 10 which would be less competitive than the BIG 12 , however LSU who lost to very tough SEC teams and the fluke against Ole Miss would miss your playoffs because they arent ranked in the top 8. You see your always going to have teams complaining because after the top 3 or 4 your gonna have teams that are sitting at home with equal records, so a playoff solves nothing.

What you should have is a playoff from the BCS bowls the winners of each continue on, so the winner of the rose bowl play the fiesta bowl and the orange and sugar play, then work your way down from there or if teams are left undefeated have a playoff with them at the end of the year.

  3. That last TD pissed me off and obviously pissed Bo off too. I think Bo thought it was completely unacceptable that the defense allowed that TD and lit his brother up on the sideline.

My question is why was Hawkins doing that anyway? What did he prove? NOTHING, instead he showed that he is a d-bag that has little to no regard for his player, or ours. There is no lost honor in taking a knee, in fact I would call it losing with dignity. It was impossible to win at that point, and our D had shut down. IMO it shows that Hawkins is reckless, just look at what he did to his son early on in the season, kept him in when you could tell he was hurt. Way to go Dan, you proved your an A-hole....

didn't know callahan had a account on huskerboard.

  4. Honestly since the Oklahoma game our defense has been playing sluggish. I thought kansas was just a hangover but then came kstate and now Colorado the defense hasn't been as sharp as it was at the oklahoma game. We were flyin to the qb and all the tackles were being made. Now were not rushing and missing tackles. We gotta put more pressure on McCoy and make tackles on Shipley downfield. Hopefully we will turn around soon. I'd like to see us knock off Texas.

  5. Yay. Big 12 North Champs. Yippee.

Seriously - that was another frustrating game to watch. I don't know if it's the play-calling or the quarterback or the O-line, but goodness, we are not a good offensive ball club.

Sorry to be a sour-puss, but that was a pretty unsatisfying victory. Is there anything that can be done in the next two weeks to help this offense?

Otherwise, we are losing to UT 20-3, or something along those lines.

I thought the game was great. I got in a nice long nap while they were trying to play a game of football. Really that had to be the most boring game I ever saw. When I wasn't napping that is .

you were napping? how were you aware it was boring? you should watch Notre Dame, great offense, can't win a game though, but great offense.

Anyone can have a great offense when you play teams they did, sh#t i wish we could hand pick our schedule with middle of the road pac 10 and big 10 teams, yet it takes 59 minutes to win the game.

  6. This is a typical texas response, unintelligent and biased to the extreme. I grew up in texas as a husker fan so I got my fair share of sh#t, and I always tried to defend the skers however the texas fans were so un educated therew as no point in trying to argue they would just try and bring it back to the Longhorns and how great they are, which alot of the guys werent even associated to the team in anyway, just started liking them around 1999 or so. I dont understand how you can all of a sudden like a team, unless..... your a bandwagon fan, which is what the state is full off. Its funny to see how many of those burnt orange f**s became rader fans last year and then aggies when they occasionally would do well. Its just weird when you actually have a team that you follow day in day out, no matter how much sh#t you take for it.

  7. For some that are begging for the option to come back, the RB needs to catch anything close to him b/c most of the time the QB is not going to be looking at him anyways. The play call at that time would have been fine in 99 not 09 with the talent we have on offense.

Pretty sure we had our fumbling problems in 99, most in school history and can remember Dan Alexander fumbling on the 3 against Texas, ruined our shot at a national title.

  8. I didn't think we would win. I said the only way we win is if the score comes down to 10-3 or 10-7 or something low scoring like that. This happened. They missed 3 field goals. Their OC I thought called a horrible game. OU lost this game more than we won it. However, I will gladly take what we have this year (no offense, powerful defense) any day over the Clownahan model (good offense, no defense). We at least have a chance at victory with Bo's model. With Clownahan's model, we won very few trackmeets.

Now thats a bit unfair to say that ou lost the game instead of us winning, I mean their turnovers were forced. They werent like the iowa state game where receivers are fumbling running into the endzone. The fieldgoals yes he missed them, but we put them in the long range situations and the crowd volume im sure helped. Thats what homefield advantage does, granted our offensive didnt do much to win it, our defense won it for us. I think if our defense didnt play the way we did, oklahoma would have won. It has been a long time since db and safties are flying to the ball and making open field tackles, props are deserved for sure to the blackshirts.

  9. The thing that worries me about this win, is I dont think people realize that our team still has some huge issues. Honestly if it wasnt for our defense stepping up and finally producing turnovers, which had be lacking all year and now allows us to call the defense great, we would have lost this game. Our offense was still ineffective, those that say Helu played great I would have to disagree other than the long run for about sixty yards we had no production. This starts with the offensive line, and I dont think that is a hangover from call-a-crap, I blame cotton. I wasnt impressed in 2002-2003, nor am I now. I dont understand how in the 9th game of the year you still have false starts and are getting blown off the line. People say that Green and Lee played like crap, well they didnt have enough time to set up and throw, the line was getting blown back and this was same for our rushing game. Its not the rb fault, those guys had to make 3 or 4 moves just to get back to the line of scrimage. Regardless we won an amazing game, however before we get to far ahead of ourselves, we still have alot of work to do before we play the likes of Texas or possibly USC or LSU in a bowl game. I dont doubt we can do it, but something has to change up front because thats were it begins.

  10. 1. just incase no one has said this yet....under legal limit. dedhoarse

    2. He handled the situation as a team leader, calling Bo right when it happened. For all those criticizing Bo look he handled the situation some may like it some may not but atleast he didnt half ass his punishment like Urban Meyer down at Florida suspending his linebacker for a half against Vanderbilt, a half are you kidding me! The gators are playing the worst team in the SEC and your gonna suspend him for a half, is he scared that Vandy could possibly ruin the perfect season. Or what about the situation up at Oregon, possibly reinstating the running back who ran more aggressive after the game than he did during the game, punching players from both teams as well as coaches that were trying to get him to settle down, then to finish it off, opposing fans. Yes, maybe Bo should be a little harsher, but give Suh the benefit of the doubt, the issue is over lets get back to supporting our huskers than instead of bashing them for every move made on and off the field.

  11. The more I read about this topic, the more Pissed I get! Apparently Bo keeps insisting that Green isn't ready, but judging from Lee's and the teams performance this year I have a hard time believing that Lee is. Just because he's been named the starter should we automatically assume that he's ready and he's the best guy for the job. I have a very hard time believing that our record would be any different had Green been named starter at the beginning of the season. Matter of fact someone would have a hard time convincing me that our record wouldn't be a little better. I'm not saying I wouldn't or don't support Lee because I, like most of you just want to win, but if everything I've said is even close to being true, why the heck not start Green?

I dont understand why it is taking Green so long to grasp the idea of checking down to a dump pass, works amazingly for Lee

  12. Here's hoping it'll be on ABC at 7 pm nationally so we can watch another 35-0 first quarter drubbing and another Pelini meltdown in Lincoln rather than Norman.

Here's hoping someone will beat the sh#t out of you soon

  13. wow...you guys are pissed....this is awesome. and i think in the last 8 years isu has one 3 games against kNU....

Due to your inibility to spell obviously winning isnt a big part of your guys history.

Its Won, and it would be wise on your part not to bring up historical facts they are not in favor of your cyclones.

No offense, but you have a few typos in your post as well...

    *sorry*

You are right, inability, my mistake the iphone makes it hard to see what I am typing.

    Thanks

  15. as an ISU fan, i was happy to have about 500 people try to fight me after the game....stay classy Lincoln....and GO STATE

Great job on the win to bad you guys didnt get a trophy, your case is pretty empty.

  16. honestly i think our punt return team is actually kinda good. i know a lot of people are anti- niles paul but he is close to returning a punt almost everytime..... ya i know close does not count.. but o well... :clap

Do you not remember the sh#t-zou game, how many turnovers/near turnovers did we have in our punt game, then again only about half of what we did last game.

  17. SUHgabbert.jpg

Think the sunbelt trophy looks something like this. Troll

Hey, if Gabbert did more of what he's doing in the picture, then he would have fit right in as the Nubs QB

Dude, isn't your team getting b!tch slapped by the Horns right now?

The CU/TX game was so bad, ABC had to switch coverage to the Oregon State/ USC in the middle of the 3rd quarter to salvage what ever audience they had left that wasn't dead or passed out. :thumbs

    Way to go Mizzoutucky!

Hey, I didn't expect to beat Texas or even stay close with them. But they way some of you guys are explaining your loss cracks me up.

"I-State didn't beat us, we beat ourselves"

"If we don't turn the ball over eight times, we win"

Well, that's all well and good, but, if it doesn't rain then Mizzou beats Nebraska and if Gabbert doesn't get hurt or throws three interceptions, then Mizzou beats Nebraska.

Sounds kinda the same, don't it??

If if's and but's were candy and nuts, we would all have a great Christmas.

First off Missouri had the 4th quarter to score points out of the rain, i mean christ Nebraska did that and have scored 17 since that game.

Also if's and but's will be the only way Missouri will ever win a Big 12 title. You guys got more excuses than daniels has fingers to pick his boogers.
