  1. I wonder how many people here would actually vote to decriminalize weed in Nebraska. All your kids are getting it from Colorado anyway. Might as well keep it in house!

IIRC Nebraska was one of the first 5 states to decriminalize marijuana. It is currently only punishable by UP TO $300 fine, for possession of under 1 oz. However, Marijuana is NOT legal in NE. There is a big difference between the two.

Edit: Florida, on the other hand, has not decriminalized marijuana.

  2. I think Peter has some very valid points here. I agree, Bo shouldn't be fired as a direct result of this audio "coming to light". However, the fact that we have a captain coming out and saying that there wasn't anything the team could do, and that the team always seems so flat on the sidelines are causes for concern, IMO.

Sure, he talks about "the glory days" a lot. But, so do a lot of people who post on here (myself included). I don't think he's a tool because of it. I think he just likes to remind people what the standard is b/c as Paul in WI pointed out, most younger fans have little perspective on those teams.

  3. i knew the title would be controversial and obviously it has a dash of toungue n cheekness. but reality is that turnovers fall on coaches... yes position coaches too OBVIOUSLY. Bo hires the coaches. Bo made the title. Be mad at bo, not me.

    Nobody's mad, bro! :clap

    Thats the problem.

No....get it because you're name is Nob....ah nevermind.

  4. One thing stands out to me....I watched all of those games, but I never once saw Bo Pelini turn the ball over.

This is a really stupid argument. We consistently turn the ball over a lot. That's part of coaching.

    whoosh

I'd like to point out that, originally, I posted this as a joke....looking for a few laughs because...well I'm a smarta$$. However, it does seem like people forget about the position coaches and their role with the players.

I'm not discounting the fact that under Bo Pelini the TEAM has produced far too many turnovers. However, to imply that Bo is directly responsible for putting the ball on the turf is asinine. There are far too many variables that play out during a football game to simply blame this on the head coach. It's not as if he tells the team to give the ball away. Or, doesn't make ball security a priority in practice. If anything I think it may be important to look at the position coaches, as they are the ones who run the players through drills day-in and day-out.

One example, Ron Brown was the running backs coach under Frank Solich, yes? Didn't he have the same exact problems with turnovers that we're seeing now?

Now, am I saying that turnovers aren't a problem? Hell no, that would be stupid. What I am saying, however, is that it is not responsible to place 100% of the blame on Bo Pelini.

Ron Brown was not running backs coach for Solich. He was still WR coach. Tim Albin coached running backs, at least in Frank's last year that I recall.

Yes, you're right. He was the receivers/tight ends coach. For some reason I thought he was coaching running backs. So, poor example on my part. Regardless, I think it is more of an issue of the position coaches than the head coach. Obviously the head coach is the one in the spotlight, and he's going to take the heat. But, I think of Husker fans (most of them) as "smarter than the average bear" and smart enough to realize that the blame shouldn't solely lie on Pelini. Now, the argument that perhaps he hasn't chosen the right coaches for his staff....maybe.

  7. It just makes no sense. Do they not understand the anatomy of a human body?

How are you supposed to tackle without your head leading? Walk around in a squat as if you're peeing? It's impossible to play football and tackle somebody properly without your head being in front of the rest of your body.

I tend to stand when I do this...unless it's in the morning, then it might include a slight bending over...just sayin'. lol :flush

  8. Just kidding. But seriously, they may drop a game or two, but I don't see many similarities to this year's Ohio State team and last year's USC team. USC had an absurdly over-hyped QB, and a couple legit WRs, but little else. I guess you might be onto something if Ohio State's depth is as non-existent as USC's. But more important than anything roster-related, there's a huge difference between Urban and Lane.

In my opinion - Ohio State has an absurdly over-hyped QB as well.

I hope you're right. I hope he flames out like Barkley did, but my money would be on Braxton being better than he was last season. He's already an elite runner at the position, and his passing has nowhere to go but up.

    it could go down, though.

There's no room down there, hombre.

I'm no expert, but I believe there are multiple directions his passing could go (in, out, post , corner, etc.). Although, the most beneficial for us would probably be down! ;)

  9. Profootballweekly.com asked Prince a few questions about the combine, and what he thought of his performance.

My favorite quote from the article (on the interview process):

The weirdest question was they asked me if I had a girlfriend, and I told them I had never had a girlfriend before, and they said, 'So do you have a boyfriend?' That was pretty funny. I said, 'No, I love women.'

Prince Amukamara's draft diary, Part 3

Well, that's a relief! Apparently the NFL didn't adopt the don't ask, don't tell policy.

  10. I probably missed something, as I have been busy with school and work, but what happened to Phil Dillard? I haven't heard much talk about him this year...

The coaches said they were not satisfied with his play and effort. There is some speculation that it was something of ploy to light a fire under him. Others take the words at face value. Take from that what you will.

Thanks carl...Hopefully Phil gets his sh*t together. He's a good guy. I'd hate to see him sitting on the sidelines for his senior season.
