  1. I would just like to offer a helpful suggestion to those whose hopes and dreams about this coming season's successes may not come to fruition (and I want 10 wins! or any number as long as we beat the Bluffs!!), just two words that got me through the past several years: stay drunk.

    :wasted

  2. I just got done watching the video of Coz walking off the field. The man looks visibly shaken and broken. Can you blame him? People making remarks to him in public, people putting for sale signs up in his yard, people taunting his kid during HS football games.

I have admittedly lost respect for some of you so called Husker Fans. Its one thing to bash him on the internet or in the papers, as the media does it to everyone, but at least show the guy some respect. Put yourself in his shoes. Its not like he tries to lose, he's doing the best he can. I agree hes not doing much(if anything) for the Huskers, but give him a break. You honestly think he likes owning all these records as the DC at NU? I highly doubt it.

We all know he's gone soon enough, so at least let the guy live in peace until he's gone! I dont like what he has turned the blackshirts into, but No way would I ever do any of the things people are doing to him. The guy is probably a good guy off the field, so just let him be, leave his family alone.

The things listed above are far from classy. I realize it only represents a few people, but come on people, lighten up.

As for him "snubbing" Dr Tom....Ever screwed up at your job majorly, and had the boss come by? I bet most of you did your best to avoid him, just like he did. We all have did that at some point in time.

I by no means think Coz should stay, I think he should go immediately, but for the love of God, Leave him alone!!!!!!!! Show some class.

Very good, "voice of reason" type of post.

You'll get trashed in here for it, but good for you to post those thoughts anyway. :clap

  3. ...what is taking so long?...today or tomorrow at the latest this has to be done....

...timing is crucial if the Huskers hope to rebound next year from this humiliating season....

Cheese Louise!!! Keep your pants on!! What do we have before the CU game?? 3 weeks?? We've waited this long 3 more weeks isn't going to kills us! Sheesh! We sound like a bunch of whiny spoiled cry babies! TO has his reasons for waiting. I'm sure that he is doing alot of behind the scenes planning. These things take time. I would much rather have a well thought out decision than a hasty 'bandaid'. We already had that when Frank Solich was fired. The fact of the matter is this: BC & Co. are gone so whether TO fires them tomorrow or makes a decision in 3 weeks it doesn't matter. Any of us who have been around Nebraska football and Dr. Tom long enough, know that he will take care of things. My gosh, he's done so much already! We are on our way back to resuming a first rate program. If we're this impatient now what's it going to be like when we have to wait for weeks and weeks to find out who the new coaching staff will be?

Anticipation is a wine that needs to be s-l-o-w-l-y sipped, not chugged like a mug of cheap beer! ENJOY THIS TIME!!!! SAVOR IT!! I can guarentee you it will be WELL worth the wait!

    GO BIG RED!!

    TLS2

Right, I agree. The wait will be more painful than we thought back when TO announced his plan to "evaluate at the end of the season." Bigger blowouts, crying Kevin Cosgrove leaving the field in Lawrence, etc.

But, I doubt if TO will do anything during the season. Even though I'd forgive him for changing his mind at this point. :hmmph

  4. maybe his players will take up a collection and get him to join Weight Watchers.

That could backfire. Suppose they get the money for that and he does lose weight.

Next thing you know he'll find his penis, after decades of not being able to.

Slippery slope to loss of interest in coaching at Kansas! :madash

  5. Is if we do not make a bowl. For those of you who root for us to lose to make sure the coaches are gone, I ask you to not do it for the players. First, it doesn't matter if we win out, the staff for the most part will be gone.

But, if we don't make it to a bowl that is a lot of practicing our young players don't get, no matter who the coach may be for the bowl. If a new coach, that's all the more reason we need the bowl, hopefully he/she will come in early to start to get things implemented, but even if Cally and crew are still around, the kids need the reps and experience.

    Very good post. :thumbs

  6. Read the other posts TO said end of the season. I think, however, that he is looking & a replacement will be named immediately in order to keep recruits.

Tom has stated that he is not presently looking for replacements for the current coaching staff, and that he would evaluate the staff's performance *at the end of the season.*

I haven't caught Tom O misrepresenting himself in the past, and I doubt seriously if he was then when he made those statements.

  7. Wow, that's good reading. they really respect him. That's good he deserves it.

    :thumbs

    Indeed...

I wonder if T.O. will give him a congratulatory call sometime this year. :)

I also wonder if he'd be able to rally our players here behind him.. I really don't know if he'd be good here with this caliber of a program, but could he be worse than BC?

  8. I am sure he'll post when he has some "information".

have you eer thought about what a absurd screen name that is? I bleed red??? most people do.....

anyway, as much as I would like to be skeptical of him, I have to say that he has been pretty accurate.

He is sadly mistaken about some important things. Namely all that crap about the coaches being replaced soon.

C'mon, folks, face the reality of T.O. holding to his word to us that this season is BC and his coaching staff's season to "be held accountable."

    The remainder of the season.

This "bleed red" person is a bit of a rumor monger, imo. :)

  9. I've heard that Solich will be hired back as RB/strength coach. Anyone else heard this?

Yeah, I heard that too. He agreed to come back only after he learned of T.O.'s new job here.

When T.O. called, Solich said, "Is he gone yet? Is Pederson really gone? Yay! GO BIG RED!"

Then I awoke from the nightmare and turned on all the lights for the rest of the night.

    :madash

  10. Since everyone wants to really know what is going on here it is. I cannot reveal my sources but I have always stated that I have connections and my bitching was going to help. Here are the facts:

    Peterson is fired

    Tom Osborne is interim AD

Cally will resign within 2 weeks, probably after TX

They are trying to get Bo Pelini

Cook and Buffet said point blank money stops if changes aren't made.

THIS IS FROM THE SOURCE WHO WAS ACTUALLY IN THE MEETING!!!!

Cally also made this announcement to some of his staff and players.

Warren Buffet has no financial connections with the university.

Sorry, your source is incorrect about that.

  11. Wouldnt it be odd if Callahan was the one good guy in the bunch? Maybe he is being brought down by these two? The NU football program would make a very interesting movie/book

I have had those same thoughts.

But then I recall when he got hired and the Oakland press was snickering and saying things like, "He's gone! He's gone to the 'heartland'!"

He was seen as a failure there, even after taking the Raiders (via his predisessor's draft picks) to the Super Bowl.
